for my DIL? she's showing signs of pre-eclampsia - toximia. She doesn't have it yet, but dr put her on total bed rest with strict instructions to come back in if symptoms flare up. She has another appt Monday if she makes it that long and he said they will probably make arrangements to induce then, she's due the 10th, so she's plenty close enough.
So I will have at least one of my Christmas babies by next week. This is the family that lives very close to me, so if I'm not here, that's where I am:)
thanks
would you pray

Me too.
Oh tiG, You certainly have prayers headed that way. I have been lucky to have easy, healthy pregnancies and it makes me feel guilty. As I am on number five, with each I wonder "is this the one where my luck runs out?". Your family will be in my thoughts until I hear about a healthy baby being born. :)
Many hugs,
Michele

tiG, my prayers are on the way.
Badseed, those negative thoughts lead to more problems. So please please stop them immediately - your luck wont run out even if it is #5.
thanks all, she's doing fine this evening and just a short drive to the hospital if her symptoms flare up. I do appreciate your prayers and thoughts.
I had toxemia of pregnancy in five of my seven pregnancies, back in the 50s and 60s. Pre-eclampsia is no picnic, so she must follow orders and lie in bed. Fluids were always critical for me, and that was the very last thing I wanted, but so important so have her sip something constantly. Of course, we will do anything for our babies, and these are small sacrifices to make. Tell her for me, "enjoy the rest, indulge yourself, listen to soothing music, which the baby will like, and generally kick back. It's only for a few days, sometimes I had to go to bed at five months. That said, my prayers for a comfortable conclusion and a happy one. It's so worth it when that little baby is placed into your waiting arms." Darn, makes me have baby lust again.
oh Aimee, was sitting here holding the 9 month old, and I had it bad!!!!! Always loved being pregnant. I'd love to have one as sweet as my little angel now that I have plenty of time for just one. I had 4 back to back!!!
All my prayers and good energy heading her way and yours. She is lucky to have you for m-i-l. Big warms hug for you, as the waiting is always the worst. Marcia
tiG, Many thoughts and prayers for your DIL and for you.And how wonderful that your DIL and you will have a new Christmas angel to hold soon.
I will pray for your DIL also. I had this problem with my first child. My second child I was lucky, all went fine. Bed rest is no fun. This is the time to get into a good novel, and rest without feeling guilty. She cannot be up cleaning...so she must swallow her pride and let somebody handle things for a while. Maybe your son could give her massages and back rubs for the bed rest. Being in bed too long gives me a back ache. A body pillow would help support her knees and get some weight, and pressure off of her back. I love mine...it helps me. Maybe somebody could go to the library and get her tapes to listen to also. She may get a headache from reading so much. It might be nice for her to close her eyes, and hear a great story. Maybe someone could rent her movies too. I loved great smelling lotions like from Body and Bath Works.... maybe aromatherapy would be good for relaxation too. Her time will be up before she knows it.
I'm here tiG, and dab on some vanilla so those babies know where to go for sweet grandma!
She will be in my prayers as well as the rest of the family. may God bless you all.
my warmest regards & prayers for u & every member of ur family. hang in there tiG, u're all in good Hands!!! may His light shine on all!!! ma vie

she's at the hospital again with severe headache which is one of they symptoms. We might have a baby tonight, ya never know.
Oh, my! Hugs to all of you , and a big cheer for the mother. Soon the work will be over and you can all sit around spoiling that new baby. As a grandmother, you have to hold the baby so the mother can get her rest, right?
sigh ** not yet :)
tiG, thinking about you!! All is calm,,All is bright!
tiG ... i know u are deeply concerned about ur DIL, excited about the forthcoming baby, but u got to take care of #1 first! take good care of urself, hear!!!! we all love U and praying for everyone's safety & health.
Tig - Sorry I didn't see this sooner. This can be a very scary thing. We will all be pulling for her and the little one. She is lucky to have had it come on at this late date so there probably won't be any lasting complications. My daughter had it with 7 1/2 weeks to go, and they had to do a quick C section. As I have told you before, our little Hannah was so tiny (3lb. 4 0z) but very healthy. I'm sure all will be well with yours too. It's a strange thing that happens, they don't know why. My daughter's Dr. had the same thing happen to her just a few months earlier, and she said she did everything right by the book. Just know that we all wish the very best for you and your family.
