Morning Glories 2018 # 10

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Quote from patootie :
Helena, I did pollinate the unusual Berlin Blue with border but I;m sure the bees
had already been there. Worth planting though next season to see what we get. A pretty PurplyBlue opened today. I had planted it on fence last yr after digging it up near the big tub in back. Main part of bloom is purple even though it looks blue here.
Helenas' Pink on Pink and also # 3 is her pink from a few days ago
I;m worried about my stictocardia from Debra. Look at this crud the leaves are making
and I am losing lvs. I have asked Logees about stuff like this forming on the lvs b4 and they tell me its a natural formation. I haven;t asked them about this dry fluff yet..

Jackie it's a natural occurrence in the leaves, something about the difference in humidity vs temps and they form those defense crystals.
Helena and Jackie, all your blooms are lovely. I had some open, now its raining, finally. Maybe I can get pics in the am. Love that dark purple, and the stripes on the purple and dark pink.

Thanks girls.
Helena, I hope the purple/blue makes sd pods. Watching your pink on pink for sd pods too.
Debra, thanks for the explanation on the leaf formation. The temps and humidity
have been strange here, This Aug will go down as one of the coolest in Arkansas history,. My sticto did have spider mites so I washed the lvs off with dish soap
in the kitchen sink today . I just hope I don;t lose it.

Thanks Debra. Hope to see your picture of blooms too.
Jackie, hoping for seeds here too. I've been collecting a few here and there from vines.

Blooms from today. Number 3 is a unexpected surprise with no ID.

Well, lost my earlier post. Love your blooms Helena. # 3 surprise is lovely and I especially like' # 4 with its touches of purple on white. Your chocolate has been
pretty all season. Wish I had grown one.

All of you have some gorgeous blooms today. Love the number 3 , too, Helena. Jackie, don't stress too much over the sticto, it will be tougher than you think. I have two here and am trying to make a third one, so I can send the two older ones away.
I don't think mites like oil too much, so maybe a little neem or castor oil mixed with the water spray might help, just don't leave out in full sun after you spray. I've been polishing my EE leaves w/olive oil, and those things used to get mites all the time, and now they don't. One yr ago today these were blooming.. not this year... *sigh*

Pretty blooms from last yr Debra.
I guess the oil coats the leaves making it hard for
the spider mites to actually get to the lvs. I need to try it..

Thanks ladies.
Pretty blooms Debra. I need to spray mine too, haven't done it yet. All blooms are repeats so not posting afraid of this double posting.
