Does anyone have a bat house?

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Does anyone have a bat house that bats actually are in residence? I really want some bats to move in. I had them put up just like the instructions said.

You should be able to tell if the bats are using the house by droppings under it and also by little scratches they make with claws when entering and leaving. We have 2 bat houses, we put them near an old house we will eventually tear down, so we wanted to get the bats used to living in the new place before we take down the old house where they probably roost under the shingles and in various nooks and crannies. We see the bats flying near the yard light where the bugs congregate. Many bats migrate to warmer places in winter.

We have a bat house at the Apalachin(NY) place that my SIL built for my birthday several years ago. It is mounted high in Locust tree on the upper slope of the pond and bats do indeed use it regularly in the summer. I don't know about in the winter since I migrate.

Don't have one, as they're already lodging somewhere nearby, maybe a barn' Good friends to have around, unlike some other old bats in the neighborhood, lol'
