don't open my email

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

If anybody gets an email from me with an attachment, don't open it. I opened an email with an attachment from someone earlier and found out it's a virus. I'm working on getting it all gone.

I updated my virus protection. It says they are all deleted. I was up till 1 AM. It would have been faster if I could have remembered which part of the files to go into, guess my brain was asleep.

Hi Cala,
I got one from you yesterday that was completely blank. No message or attachment. Thanks for nothing! LOL Glad you caught it. :)

I just received one, too, and I deleted it. It didn't look right. The subject read "Re: re: extra seed". The attachment said something like "NUDE _ ME". Bizarre.

yeah me too already twice but glad did not open, thank god!

Calalily, I've got you beat. I was up until 5 am, then slept for awhile and was back up checking again. I've had some problems downloading the antivirus update for my current program. I just don't trust it or feel comfortable. DH went to town and bought the newest version he could find. I think it was making him crazy watching me go through that all night. LOL I am going to switch to that program tonight and get nortons updates right away. Then I'll feel much safer I think. I gotta get a new email addy too I think.

Keeping your e-mail address should be fine, Joan. If you are careful to scan and do all the good stuff, anything sent to your address will be caught, anyway. I know Norton's site said to set it to scan ALL files when you're looking for a virus - mine was set to scan program files only, and I changed it so my weekly scan will scan every nook and cranny.

Y'all think that's bad, I sent it to our county courthouse. Norton's didn't catch it there either.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Calalily, you and I seem to have had the same kind of night. I also sent it to our county courthouse as dh and I both work there, so we send emails back and forth alot between home and offices. DH called our computer tech EARLY this morning and she got all the updates done before anyone else got there, so it was stopped from infecting that network anyway. I'm not sure what it would do if it got on a computer that was networked, but I'm glad I don't have to find out.

this virus is set up to execute even if you DON'T open the attachment. Everyone please scan your computer with updated virus definitions, even if you didn't open anything.
