Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
Morning Glories 2016 #17
Hi everyone, Happy Thanksgiving. We had a nice family gathering with lots of food and champagne. Last night I went to bed while listening to the giggles and sounds of three siblings in the same room. No children, like it should have been, but it felt like when they were 14 11 and 6.. LOL I told Joe I was very Happy for those sounds ( they were all in roses old room watching tv and eating nachos and gibbering away)
I don't have grand chlildren from these three, and I can't tell you quickly the house got messed up, but it is worth it. Now Joanna is asleep in my chair, Charlie in his chair and Joe in his and I have a loveseat calling my name. I go to work tomorrow. Joe will take Joanna back up to KC, and Charlie will rest up, before he starts his work week. I am thankful for all of you, and I am glad I have had you for friends. Thank you for being you.look at these silly kids.. LOL
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
Great pics Debra..
Beautiful pictures Debra. Sounds like you had an awesome day!
Glad everyone had a nice Thanksgiving too.
Nice picture Debra, good to have the family together.
yes, it was a good 48 hours in this house. Back to normal. it is raining today. I went in yesterday at 6:45 am and now I am in my new office. The new building is noth9ng but floor to ceiling windows. If I could use the new store showroom as a growing space I'd be in heaven. LOL Going in early tomorrow to help with the flow of the first day open in the new digs. I have a clematis in full bloom right now. I don't get it. It will freeze in the next few days. Been transplanting and making changes in the basement. Fun!
from 2011
That is a pretty early time to start working Debra. Glad you have a nice office.
Your blooms are beautiful from 2011l. That is a weird time for your clematis to be in full bloom but enjoy.
Hope you can get back to your normal hours soon Debra.
Gorgeous blooms from 2011, love the Brug in full bloom and'the
beautiful MG's.
I agree, those blooms are awesome!
Helena, My Wild Blue dawn got so tangled this summer that I cut it and broke it
trying to untangle it. It does grow unbelievably fast. It had wrapped around 2 or 3 other mg's on the carport trellis. So I can believe yours reached the tree tops. :-)
Love your Pink MG but that red Salvia is a show stopper.
My ochracea couldn;t open all the way, maybe too dry or it opened yesterday and I
didn;t catch it.b4 it started to close. Hope I get more oppurtunities
Thanks Jackie. I guess I'll see about cutting it back after the frost hits it. It is also on top of my greenhouse. Funny, I've seen the pandy cut down to the ground yet it would come back every year and have lots of blooms. But the ugly leaves on mine is what makes me want to cut them back. Finally might get some rain.
Beautiful ochracea bloom Jackie. I love that yellow color. Wish we could have other mgs with that bright color. Hope you get more blooms to enjoy and share with us.
I love all your blooms ladies. Nice to see all the beautiful colors.
Thanks Helena and Linda.
I hope I get some nicer ochracea blooms Helena.
I should have blooms on some of my new mg vines in a few weeks.
Something to look forward to. :-).
Thanks Linda.
Hope to see your new blooms from your mgs Jackie. My new seedlings are doing good so far. I doing an experiment with my oldest one. I pinched off the top after the 6th true leaf. It's in a clear cup so I see that the roots are feeling it up. I hope to get bigger blooms and am going to do the same pinching when it starts spreading.
Helena, One yr I kept pinching out the growing tip of the Moon vine, Ip alba. It slowed down the'blooming until late summer but I had 5 leader stems so had tons of blooms as I recall.
I broke the stem off of 1 of my new mg's, by accident, that was loaded with buds. but as far as I can see, it just put out another lead stem down below so back to just 1 stem. Will be neat to see how the pinching affects your bloom output.
So just one growing stem.
Helena, your seedlings look great. I have 6 new ones in the g house and 5 to 6
in my washroom too. lol I have a couple of grow lites out there mounted on a cheap stand. Thats ok it works just fine. :-)
That is a beautiful bloom Helena. Love your new babies too!
Just lost my entire post. smh.
Helena, beautiful Split Second. It's a purp so doesn;t mind the cold like a nil does. Mine bloomed longer than anything else too but it took forever for it to start blooming. Then its'blooms got ugly really fast., I don;t know what happened.
Hi ya everyone, just popping in from home before I go to bed. Beautiful flowers, Helena. Glad you are getting nice vines, both of you. I bet Linda has some things blooming , too. Got moved in, tomorrow is the first Saturday we will be open in the new service drive and the 5th day and we have had a lot of glitches but it will all work out. I can't get on dg from work right now, I have to have the IT guy fix it in the new building. Busy! Miss you all.
Debra, Hope
you can connect at work soon so you can drop by'
and post..
Great pics Helena. Love the Blue Dawn and pretty Solid rose choc.
The Red Salvia is to die for.!!!
Thanks Jackie. That salvia is doing a lot better in the gh than it didoutside.
No pics today, it's been gloomy and raining all day. At least the plants will all be watered good.
Helena, those are beautiful blooms.
What a time I;m having. Left my back window open on my g house last nite and it was down near freezing. I bet my angel wing Begonias start dropping lvs soon. Can't
believe I did that. Thought it was closed up tight. smh
Blast from the past
Bush mg, I've lost it now being careless I have a small one from Debra
I need to pot up and feed.
Pres Bush most likely
No clue
Unknown gray
Purple George Strait
Beautiful blooms Jackie. Love the wide margin on your gray and the third bloom sure is eye catching. Beautiful George Strait and the others too.
Your GS is always a smile bringer. I love your salvia's too, Helena.
It was cold today, but saw the little red begonias out front under the leaves hanging in there when I got out of the car. I am having a time with the keyboard of my lap top. It fell of the back of the desk and now it skips a lot. Thank goodness for auto correct LOL
Jackie I know your babies will perk up. We all need a nice sunny day.
Sorry to hear your window was open. I hope they don't drop too many leaves.
Getting cold here too. Supposed to be 33 tomorrow night.
Thanks everyone. Still can't believe I did it. No sign of any damage yet but it
might take a day or two.
Debra, at least your keyboard won;t cost a fortune to replace if need be,
Linda, Hoping for a short winter.
Hopefully there won't be too much damage Jackie. I turned on some more lights and heat lamp in my gh for my plants. Starting to get real chilly. Surprising that plants can take some cold temps.
What I saw blooming today. Yellow rose, turks cap, Hamelia patens seed berries, lavender lace in gh, wild blue dawn one of the blooms might be from yesterday, but not sure.
Those are beautiful blooms. Does the turks cap produce seeds. Are they easy to start?
I still have ever bee able to grow the hamela patens or the turks cap. Great job on your gh plants, Helena. I bet Jackie's will be going gang busters in no time. Cold Cold Cold here!!!
Love your pretty blooms Helena. Did not realize that the Hamelia patens makes
berries. Gorgeous rose and beautiful Lav Lace.
Going down to about 20 here tonight.
Thanks ladies. Linda, I've never seen Turks cap to produce seeds. I know that you can start them from cutting when the weather is still warm. They do spread from the roots.
Jackie Down to 20 sounds way too cold for me. It was pretty cold here but not enough to affect my plants. First bloom from yesterday was still open and up the tree bunches of blooms. Salvias outside with blooms and turks cap still blooming.
Nice to see blooms still outside.
It was supposed to drop to 33 last night, but it was only 40, no frost yet.
Beautiful blooms Helena. Did not realize your \pretty red blooms belonged to the
Turks cap, i thought it was your red Salvia.
Debra, Lovely Kings Mantle.
Another cold night here tonight
