I THINK THAT LIL YELLOW IS A LUTEA? I LOVE IT, DEE. I HOPE MY ORCHEA IS STILL ALIVE, I HAVN'T LOOKED AT IT SINCE I UNDID THAT POT AND MOVED IT TO THE GARAGE

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

I edited my post with the wrong id Debra. Hope your ochracea is ok and
I hope mine blooms this winter so I can gather fresh seeds.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

oh Jackie, no worries, I sure don't know all the fancy names of everything. My buddy told me he is rooting me three more stictocardias, ( I gave him a cutting two years ago) and I have one I need to trim ( it rooted but is too long) so I am going to be able to send out sticto's after all. :D ( HAPPY DANCE)

Prescott, AZ(Zone 7b)

Debra, you're right it's Ipomoea hederifolia lutea. I'm in the address exchange and I'd love to trade.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Debra, I wonder how your friend is rooting the sticto's??

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Linda and Jackie.

Love your beautiful blooms Jackie. That's a neat plant with the yellow blooms. Mina lobate is a hummers plant too. Been a long time since I grew it.
I had more WBD blooms today and 2 blooms on solid chocolate silk (shortened name). Not making seeds though. I took pictures which aren't showing the true color and haven't downloaded them yet either. Feeling tired.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena. The yellow blooms on that Mother in laws tongue were more pronounced today. Will try to get a better pic tomorrow. Not as oretty a'bloom as the mother in laws tongue that bloomed earlier this summer,. That one had prettier
colors.
Hope you get some rest Helena.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

hayyyy I am coming ... wow wowie you guys have had some gorgeous blooms!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I had a wonderful weekend with my daughters up in KC then to come home to a debilitating sciatica attack. I am back, strong now. Dee, no problem we can trade, I checked one of my "water bottle" cuttings of sticto and have root nubs so now I need to get it potted up. I wish my friend would share with me how he does it. He is supposed to bring me some rooted cuttings of the chalice vine I sent home with him last year. He said it has grown crazy. Poor Joe keeps getting bit by either chiggers or oak mites when he goes out to clean the gutters or rake and mow. Was supposed to rain last night but it missed us. All the roses here are showing one last gust of energy. Had a huge earthquake shaking us around last night it was frightening because I actually heard the house creek. *sigh* feel better Helena, and look forward to more blooms from all of ya.

Prescott, AZ(Zone 7b)

Debra, I mailed you some seeds today. Hope you enjoy them. I'm afraid I'm going to have way too many seeds from these get loose this year. I'm actually thinking about trimming them back before all the seeds mature. I'd be happy with any fresh MG seeds, like I said I've had such limited success with them, you have to wonder if I'm just not getting good seeds to start with.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you had a good trip Debra, take care of that back.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Deb, sorry you had the awful sciatica attack, So thankful that I haven't been bothered with those for yrs, very painful.
Poor Joe, now we don't get bit by chiggers here Debra unless we sit down on the ground. then look out. You can put 2 or 3 tsp's of table salt in bath water and it will kill the chiggers but you have to do it that night, not the next night.
I have nubbies on my Confederate rose Hibiscus and some of those turn into long white roots. That's all they need to get off to a good start. I didn't realize the'stictos would do that too.
The earthquake would have terrified me

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

That is great Dee, I have so many seeds, you will have plenty to play with. I have nubs on my brugmansia Y's I had to cut off, the last one is peaches n cream is in full bloom outside in the ground now, I'll have to cut her top off and root her out as well.
Found a whole pod of HB have sprouted inside the pod wow that is weird! at work tomorrow, kind of glad the pain is going away so quickly. I need to be able to do some gardening this Sunday. LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

A pod sprouted inside a pod? What is HB?

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Look at this cute little Johnny Jump Up.
A beautiful Confederate Rose Hibiscus changing colors all in one day
Opened white and by late afternoon, had turned this lovely shade of pink
6 of my new mg's, started about a month ago.
The bloom on my m-I-l's tongue has matured a bit more.

Your flowers are incredible! I love them. I had the confederate rose for a couple years and gave it all away.. too hard to keep inside here.. lovely lovely lovely. I showed Joe you sanseveria blooms. Those are magnificent. your vines are going great, too!

Linda, a seed pod had sprouted seeds in it from being under a pile of cut off vines, while still kind of wet.. so they germinated right in the pod. I had to throw them out, they were Heavenly Blues and I can't keep those going inside like the purps
and I.nils for some reason. Jackie your pink Porcelain had been blooming in the front shrub area off the porch, Joe showed me a spent bloom. Gee I miss a lot while I am working. love those jump ups. Still blooming here..

Look at the beautiful blooms.

Debra, you gave me one of the confederate rises. It is white then turns light to dark pink. So pretty.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Debra. This Hibiscus may be very similar to the one you grew b4 and shared with Linda. The one I have rooted is different only changing colors the next day.
The only Jewels of Opar I ever grew just had white blooms as I recall.
Beautiful Brug.and Rose.. Pretty Salvias too.

Gautier, MS

Beautiful blooms Jackie. I almost bought pansies when I was at Lowes the other day. Love the Confederate rose too, Your mg seedlings look great and neat m-I-l's tongue.

Hope you feel better Debra. You have pretty neat flowers. Never heard of that first one.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena. The kids took the computer so didn;t realize I hadn't
responded.
Debra, I was wrong about the flower color on the Jewels of Opar. Just been'
too long for me to remember that the blooms were pink

I have lots of J O P seeds, I am sending you all some in your packets. I like how pretty they are in tween empty spaces in the flower beds. I worked hard and long today, will be bringing in the rest of the tropicals tomorrow, still no frost and have not seen rain for almost ten days now. here are some blooms from basement years past. If you have a basement mix from me, here is a reminder of what was in them.. Our new Service Department will be open the Monday after Thanksgiving, we are moving everything over the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving so won't be on here much around then. I won't be carrying much, I'll be directing traffic and answering the phones. *sigh*

Debra, Hope they don;t work you too hard.. Don't know how you do all that you do.
Beautiful blooms in your basement mix. Love the 1st 3 especially

Gautier, MS

Debra, hope you get a good break after all the work. Your blooms are beautiful.

I couldn't resist buying these two African violets when I was in Lowes last week. Never seen a green one before and just loved the pink with white.
Here's what bloomed today. Moved a few of my mgs into the gh, loved the color the camera gave Blushing Bride. Rest of mgs are staying outside.

in the 80's and 90's. Beautiful Mg's too.
