Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Great blooms Helena. # 3 is a beauty, I love it. Not Gray Twilight?? Remind me again of the name of
# 4 please.

Gautier, MS

Thanks ladies. Jackie #3 is from my last seed from one of Gourds crosses, I'll have to check on the name later and edit my post. Number 4 is purple lightning, I did collect at least one seed pod from it. Need to water my older mgs with bloom buster this evening for more blooms.

Edit to say that the label on #3 is Rose Silk x Fuji, description as gray with white.

Jackie, your blooms are beautiful. I too hope your kitty is feeling better soon.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

you guys are rocking with the colors this year. love that Edo and the Blue Dawn. I had forgotten about the Blue Dawn. It has been a while. Really hot here in Kansas, but I did manage to transplant a couple vines. Hope they do okay.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

We think ours are cute even when they are no longer kittens. :-) I've grown
them to over 20 yrs old Helena. I read about a man in England
yrs ago who had a 36 yr old cat. He attributed her longevity to the aloe'vera
drops he put on her wet food every day since she was a small kitten. I;d love to know how long she lived but can;t find anything when I google it.
Fuji with pink spokes but doesn't look like a Fuji.Still a pretty glory.

Sad to say there has been no kittens or cats in this house. But all my kids have a cat or two. Glad your kitten is doing better. My sis in law had a white persian named Candy that lived to be 26 years old. she was mean!

Gautier, MS

It is very pretty bloom Jackie. I will agree that it doesn't look like a Fuji.

Hope you have blooms soon Debra. We would love to see them.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Love the color of your morning glory Jackie.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena and Linda. Helena, this mg sd from Ronnie and it says Pink Fuji with spokes,
maybe a cross.
Debra, our manx was our longest lived 20 yrs + cat and she was mean too.
Used to attack me every day when I came in from work, Old age is what finally calmed her down.

Gautier, MS

I didn't know cats could live that long though my daughters cat she thinks is around 14 years. She doesn't seem to act that old either but all she does is sleep and eat.

Your bloom probably is a cross Jackie.
Purple lightning, 2nd mg is purple not blue, pink silk cross split bloom really so huge.

Love your split Pink Silk bloom.. I can tell its a huge bloom.
I hope I get something new blooming soon.

Very pretty blooms ladies!

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie and Linda.

Very pretty blooms Jackie. They look perfect and healthy plants. Mine have had so much defects that I will not post until they improve. Or wait till my next batch blooms.
I did spray my older vines and they seem like they are trying to make a comeback. I would love to see a few with nice blooms.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I don't see anything wrong with your blooms, Helena or Jackie. The colors are vibrant, and who looks lat leaves anyway? ( I think the blooms are the center of attraction)
We are going to see Ringo Starr tonight, been sickish all day inside out of the heat.. hope I can make it through the show.. *sigh*

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Enjoy the concert.
I hope you are feeling better soon.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda, Helena and Debra. I;m starting to get some bad lvs too. No wonder, this excessive heat makes it easy for pests to attack,.Plus mine are not being set out to get any rain which would go far to clean off the lvs.
Send your bloom pics Helena,
We care about the blooms.and not'worried about the lvs.
Hope you enjoy the concert Debra. The heat makes me sick too,.This'
is the 1st yr the heat has bothered me to the point of making me sick,.

Debra, hope your feeling better and enjoyed the concert!

We had a bit of rain last night, I'm glad all my plants got watered by it. On my previous post I meant that some of the bloom are deformed so I won't post them until they improve.
Hope you got some rain too Jackie, helps cooling down the heat. Hope you get to feel better.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Helena, we didn;t even get enough rain to wet the ground, We needed rain
pretty bad
I.m thankful that I feel better as soon as I get back inside in the a/c so mine doesn;t last long.
Debra, hope you were able to enjoy the show last evening..

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

The concert was great, Joe had us on the floor right close to the stage. Still feeling kind of puny, hot and yukky, but made it to work anyway. No one at work even knew who Ringo was so feeling REALLY OLD now.
Still no blooms here on mgs, roses are done, lillys are almost done, everything was early and almost done. Usually don't get the stargazers and monardas until after the 4th of July. Have not seen one hummer or butterfly, but I am at work all day, and weekends have been busy with other things lately. Joe said he hasn't seen any bees, butterfys or hummers. I dunno whats up, I always have all three, and certainly have enough food for them all here blooming. If it stays this hot the rest of summer, I will be dragging my favorites back in and letting everything else go.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Maybe your hummers and butterflies will return when your yard re-establishes itself.
We have a few hummers and I saw a few bees earlier. No butterfly visitors here
which is strange for us
The heat is just ruining everything here Debra. Its all I can do to water my mg's
and tropicals. My age is showing,

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear your plants are not doing well Debra. Maybe your roses will re-bloom?

Gautier, MS

Hope we all get rain to cool this heat down. Sorry to hear about your plants not doing well Debra. Hope they recover, mine seem to do better after I water them with Bloom Booster.
I had 2 blooms this morning, one is from Karen2005 Dusky, with a star. The other is Raiko with more white than I ever remember it having.

Helena, those are beautiful, but that first one is really pretty.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

OH MY GOSH, I REMEMBER RAIKO, AND IT IS A BEAUTY!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Helena, Both are gorgeous but I love the 1st bloom.
