Me for sure! It was all so good! I think without the seconds it would have been just about right.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Meems, I sure ate too much! Had to wait hours to have pie, then hours more to have more pie! LOL You know, I thought everyone was going to post their before and after bellies, but the joke was on me. :)
I am so glad you had a good day with Paulgrow.

I ate just right. Watched what I ate and didn't over due.
I fixed just the right amount.....no leftovers;except for the pie of course; half of that left.

I ATE SO MUCH I DON'T THINK I WOULD NEED TO EAT FOR YEARS!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Well....YEP! I fixed our Turkey dinner Tuesday, had leftovers on Wednesday and on Thursday The guuys brought in platters of food! Ham, Turkey, roast leg of lamb, smoked elk roast, 5 different stuffings, fruit salad and pies and cakes and fresh asparagus spears and boston baked beans and...I tasted it all! We munched all afternoon and are still pickin at it! OH, and one of the helicopter crew brought fried frog legs and a rabbit stew! Gosh working on the Holidays is rough....LOL!

Now I need to get dressed to go in today and need someting loose and preferably bright to wear...anyone have a circus tent I could wear?

Elk???What a treat, I think I should have gone to your place after we left SHoe's.

We had dinner around 3:00 and couldn't eat pie until around 6:00. Today, I've had one turkey sandwich and a tangerine. Glad you had a great day with Paul. Good for you...vic

Holy cow Zany! I just looked at your menu. We are gonna have to change your name to Zanymoose! LOL-in the nicest way possible. he he he

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

And if that menu didn't explode me the leftovers will! No one would take their dishes home so I have been busy making frozen dinners out of them! I may not have to cook again until July! :}

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Zany, are you alright? I think I was just hit in the head by some second hand elk. chuckle

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL BAAAAAAAADSEED! That Elk is some goodd eating! The guy that brought it got so tickled over my liking it so much that he brought me 5 packages of Elk steaks from his freezer last night! (I had never had it before) and a huge jar of his elk jerky! One of the other fly boys was with him and said his Deer jerky is better so he is ringing some to me tonight to prove his point! LOL if these guys keep competing to show off their provisions I may never have to buy groceries again!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

If you are what you eat, will you soon grow antlers??? I am so clueless about elk. LOL hmmmm, deer jerky? Think I better stick to beef. I have some idea where THAT comes from. he he

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

ROFLOL That is it! Those spikey things on my head aren't devilish horns at all! They are antlers!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, Zany, I so envy you!!! Nothing, absolutely no meat, compares with elk steaks. I'm not a red meat lover, rarely eat beef and venison doesn't agree, but elk!!!!! Drool!

Badseed, deer jerky comes from anyplace on the animal the hunter or preparer decides to take it, but the best is from the same place you get steaks and roasts, and tenderloin is scrumptious. It's just a different way of preparing the meat. Locally, people use lots of salt and take weeks to finish it. When you're sitting in a blind half frozen or out on the land camping, it's a good dense protein source that requires no refrigeration. Just take along some toothpicks or a sharp knife for whittling twigs, plenty of water after the salt, and tightfitting dentures. It's a mite chewey.
