.....the birth of our newest granddaughter, Alexandria Lyn Salter, on Wed., Nov. 21, at 4:13 pm....8 lb., 10 0z. So we celebrated the empty chairs at the table this year; in exchange for one of God's greatest blessings of all!

After 14 hours of labor....mother and baby are doing terrific....coming home today at 12:00! It is a pretty name isn't it...but ya know she's gonna be called Ali or Alex for short...LOL...I like Alex!!

There is a certain atmosphere in a home with a brand new little family member. Somehow, despite the chaos, the altered schedules, the wrecked sleep, it just feels so magical and enchanted. Treasure it, because you know it's a brief thing that is soon gone. And congratulations to the new mother for a job well done.

We just got back from visiting them at home....she's so sweetand beautiful......you could hold her and gaze at her forever......told them she was going home with me.....NOT!
The other granny would wrestle me to the ground on that one!
