It might be in a newspaper, I haven't read one for days, but none of the newscasts have mentioned the usual tragedy associated with 11/22. We have truly been focused on today.

The tragedy apart, the house where I'm now living was built by my g-g-father in 1911 and he used to keep account of all the money spent towards various building materials (I still have the list). He has spent some amount on 11-11-11. I thought the date is quite interesting.

Aimee, thanks for remembering. I was sittimg in my first grade class when another teacher ran in and said that President Kennedy had been shot. It really stuck with me because it was the first time I'd ever seen an adult cry.

Now you all know how old I am.

Oh, I remember the first grade well, and I recall a day when everyone was dancing in the streets because the war had ended and the soldiers would be coming home. Still have a few rations stamps and a v letter or two. But I don't have the foggiest notion what my ancestors were doing on 11-11-11. Almost no one living remembers. My mother wasn't born yet, and her parents are dead. What a neat thing to own! Melody, I wish I knew how my children heard the news, and I think I will ask the four who existed then. Number five was on the way, and on that Thanksgiving day, we moved to the house next door because it was larger, and then I went to work at the phone company for the evening shift. Don't remember if we had turkey, but I do recall being too tired to care.
