Morning Glories 2016 # 04
Jackie those are all beautiful. That camellia must have enjoyed the food!
beautiful! I have been wanting a camellia sinensis for ever, the flowers aren't as pretty, but it is called tea plant and that is what I'd do make my own tea! I have never ried a camila but I did care for one at work for a lady and it was beautiful and covered in spider mites! LOL abnither beautiful day, I already brought up red poodle hibiscus and momma EE to the front porch to harden off.

Thanks ladies.
Debra, I see a Camellia that is the true source for tea leaves for sale ever once in a while. Logees used to carry it I bet you can find it for a lot less if you google.
Beautiful blooms Helena. I'm in love with your red passi and the delicate Sinningia
blooms.
It takes my purps so long to bloom, thinking about planting a few in pots and on
the fence line down from the pandy. Also need to start some of the heavenly blue sds Debra shared with me.
Helena, those are beautiful!
wow I LOVE that red passion vine, Hellena. I bet I pulled out a thousand baby purps from the fence line today. Joe dug me a tomato patch but it was hard for him since it was all clay he dug thru, the guy told us 6 ft from the house so it is 6 ft exactly. I planted some leafless brugs today and cleaned out the pear tree garden and the north flower bed. Dug up three trees from the fence, and took three madame galen trumpet vine root systems I found had roamed elsewhere, and two sweet autumn clematis in the wrong places. Got the front triangle ready for big mama banana. We'll put her out on my birthday.
Gosh Debra, wears me out just listening to all you got done. :-)
Happy that you made such good use of your time. I waste too much time here
not using my time wisely.
I love the trumpet vines even if they do spread and come up in the strangest
places.
Thanks ladies. I can picture you pulling those purps Debra and going oh no!! I wonder why my volunteers haven't showed up yet? I'm worn out by the little I do here, and there is still way too much left to do. I probably don't use my time wisely either Jackie. What I need to do is cut back on growing too much.
Will be great to see your garden again Debra.
Helena, its just getting to be too much for me. I see my pandy up in a couple of places by the fence but I still haven;t raked out the dead leaves or pulled the weeds up yet.
No sign of my hummers, we took too long to put the feeder up I think and they might'have gone elsewhere. Its been warm here for over a month with very little'cold
so they might have returned early and no feeder out, smh.
Will be nice to see your garden re-do Debra. You could put out tubs of
colorful annuals to enjoy and give you some color while you wait for your perennials to do. :-)
You know what? I was thinking the same thing, Jackie. I have lots of containers. I haven't gotten my hummer feeder out either. The things is, On the one day off I do have it is either outside playing or downstairs playing, I never take time to "clean" so I force myself to do what I can do
Debra, I don't know how you do all you do and working full time with only 1 day off.
If I do get something done with my sds or outside pulling weeds, than that means
I've probably got a sink full of dirty dishes, and I do.:-)
Me too Jackie, same thing here. Never ending chores!
Helena, my DGS does my vacuuming for me and I pay him. Be glad if and when I can get my DGD's to do the dishes and dust and I'll gladly pay them.
Debra, I cut, by accident, my Juanolloa shrub's stem that had buds on it, the one that makes the orange blooms that never fully open. Now it has roots on it sitting in a cup of water. I;m going to plant it in a foam cup in my seed potting mix and see how it does.
I have old sds of tree ferns and I thought they were so old they wouldn;t sprout but
they have. Had them soaking in a cup of water and planted them up today,
Most of my mg's sds have sprouted and time to start a few more.
Edited to say the tree fern seeds are from 2002, 14 yrs old, unbelievable that they sprouted.

I WONDER WHY THE POSTS ARE DOUBLE SOMETIMES, THAT IS WEIRD!
Debra, there was a new page, happens to me almost every time. Result;
I double post
Jackie, I get my kids to help out in clearing their shoes from the living room and vacuum too once in a while but not often enough. The oldest helps out in loading the dish washer when there too many to do. But it's not that often.
My first purpurea to bloom outside. Had no idea what it was going to be.
Helena, I;m so thankful that my dgs vacs every Friday for me. Of course, he wants that money and I' m more than happy to pay him,. Its the only help I get
Lovely purp Helena. I hope I can plant a couple of the purp sds you shared with me that makes such a beautiful bloom.
Edited to say I tried to send a pic, didn't work

Thanks Jackie. I know it's nice when we get help from the g-kids. I'm glad yours help you.
I hope the picture posting is not messed up again. I had to go back to a real camera to be able to post my pic.
I love that purpurea, Helena. I had a shibouri blooming downstairs, but had to hurry and come to work. Silly setosa has a bloom on it again and so does the moonvine alba, they are still in their cups! Jackie, your PPV dark is up, and Helena your Back King is up, they are both outside in their cups still, getting used to real light. Still waiting on the star of india "not" to show, Jackie. Joe is getting me three tall trellis to go where the arch used to be on the other end of the patio, can't wait! Still no sign of Pandy.. :P
Debra, I hope the Star of India not sprouts. It was the prettiest glory I grew last yr,
The tall trellis's will be so nice. I use that old broken down lattice on my carport,
ugly but it comes in handy,
May still be early there'for your pandy,
Mine have just been up a little over a week.
A lovely purp Helena,. I hope I'can find time today to start a few purps outside.
I don;t think we will have another freeze here although April 15 is the usual safe
to plant date.
Good news, a couple of my hummers have returned. :-)
Thanks Jackie. Hope you get to sow some of your pretty purps. I enjoyed yours from last year and before that too.
I got most of my seedlings into bigger pots yesterday, but I'm still have more left. Getting salvias coccineas into the ground too. Glad your hummers returned. I still have them around, though not seeing them as often.
Thanks Helena. I miss having some pretty purps on the fence,. Last yr, I only had'one which was disappointing.
I didn't get to plant any outide but maybe tomorrow.
Glad you got your vines potted up to larger pots.
I did get 18 cups ready for mg sds. Just a start.
Finally found pics of my plumie, this one bloomed in 2013
Dark purp in 2013
oh I love that color on the plummie. Mine is the yellow with white. I think I have that unknown blue, it is beautiful!
Helena, how big of pots do your transplant your seedlings to?
Beautiful blooms ladies.
Thanks ladies.
Beautiful blooms Jackie, love the color of your Plummie and purp too!
Debra, I've been potting my vines from the small cup into one gallon, some of the special ones are going into bigger maybe 3 to 5 gallons (like the pot of my bloom from today on the right.) Here's also a pic of how tall they are getting and size of pots. I have a lot of repeats that's why I used the smaller pots.
Happy Birthday Debra! Hope your day was great!
Thanks Jackie.
Love your blooms!
Thanks Helena. those were from yrs past. Thanks goodness for the 9 or 10 mg's I did start a couple of weeks ago. At least I can look forward to those blooms. I made myself
start 10 more today , Dany's Summer Rain and Dany's Peach were 2 of them and will try to start a few more tomorrow. .
Thanks, it was a perfect day, slept late, played a bit, went to the movies and out to eat, then went for a walk. Joe was just so nice and kind today, but he always is. Love the way you have your vines, Helena. As soon as it gets done being rainy this weekend coming up, I am moving my vines to bigger pots outside. I'll start them off on the front porch to get used to the light, and then move them to the back. Joe found my Pandy tuber, the second one! He was making me a tomato patch and popped it right up! Now I have them both tucked away somewhere.. one at the back fence ( from the big bottom half he dug up earlier) and then this newer one is back into the tomato patch near the edge where I will put the new trellises. ( second pic) I am very happy.
Jackie, I can't wait to see those vines from Dany, and Linda, that cake is awesome, where ever did you find that pic at?
Flowers from one of my daughters, Rose.
The backyard in progress..mud, lots of mud LOL
Debra, Sounds like you had a really great bday. Glad your pandys turned up, I know you're much relieved,.
The trellis's are going to be so pretty covered in flowers.
Your backyard is so neat, even with all the work going on,
Pretty flower arrangement.
Sounds like you had a full day!
I love google images for cakes.
Debra glad you had a nice B day. Glad your pandy's turned up too. Good work in progress.
Raining here, I counted my mg vines outside yesterday, so far 67. A good amount inside the greenhouse too. Too many need repotting, getting tangled into each other. My hummers are chasing each other all over the yard, entertaining to watch!
Jackie, glad you got mgs started! Will be nice to see Summer rain and Peach again!
Helena, I can't wait till most of yours start blooming. I want to go back and start
some of my older seeds. One of my biggest chores when our mg's get tall and vining good is trying to keep them from tangling. Makes our sd gathering a nightmare.
Yes I:m excited about Summer Rain and Dany';s peach that you so
kindly shared.with me. :-)
Jackie, glad to share with you. Glad you are going to sow some older seeds too. I have a few vines with Mystery question mark on the label. Had one vine that found it's way out through a tiny space high in g-house. I think I untangled most of them. Found a few vines that have several buds on them. I'm looking forward to have all blooming then labeling them with correct details.
