Could have used more rain over the weekend. Did some transplanting and the soil is still dust down below.
weather in the garden # 140!
63° but going up to 83. too hot for me.
80s & high humidity today.....not a gardening day.....
So gross out, supposed to be hotter tomorrow
Lately the promised rain has been no more than a passing shower at least within the past week. Local dump seems to be about out of its free mulch, so I know I'm not alone in trying to make up for the drought. Somehow nothing stops the poison ivy from prolferating, though.
90s & high humidity today....bad combo.....we had about 15 min of rain yesterday....that's it.....
cooler today after a week of 90s. going to 90 tomorrow, however.
This weekend the rain clouds passed over us. Still dry and hot
Low 90s right now.....severe T-storms predicted for this evening......
79° cooler than yesterday
Yes, 70s here yesterday, low 80s today.....then it heats up!
Dry here too - there may be some hope for Friday night.
cool today in the mid 70s. We could use rain!
Sunny, hot & breezy today....picked blueberries for 45 min., but there was a nice breeze coming from the lake. Showers are predicted for tomorrow....we'll see!
oppressive here today - can cut the air with a butter knife. hoping for some wet stuff coming from the sky later.
Same here....nice breeze, but too humid!
91° at noon. Must go to the grocery store, otherwise will not go out. Rain for northern New England, not us. drat!!
A few short showers last night.....happy we got something....
low 80s & humid
let's hope for some rain tomorrow!
Under a flash flood watch here for tonight & tomorrow!
In the 70s today but just a spit of rain. It was heavy to the nor th over Cape Cod & in NH & Maine. Really don't like the wind currents.
I was so happy for the rain,it saved me from using the garden hose . My rain barrel also got some water.
The rain came at a great time....gardens very stressed! Maybe a shower today & tomorrow....I'll take them....
In the low 70s. Much better her today.
not enough fell here
We had about 2" in all....very welcome!
We would LOVE 2 inches.
me too. heard on the radio drought is predicted to last into October.
I heard the same thing! Then we'll probably have snow daily!
Oh no! It was a spectacularly beautiful day yesterday, but the plants are getting dry again, already. Is there no hope for the young trees and shrubs in their second season after planting? Forget planting new ones this year. At least for me, too hard to keep them alive. I am grateful for every plant with a dessert origin, though they seem to need a fair boost of water to get established too. It is because of the drought that the latest lazagna bed has little in it.
Not the best year for gardeners! Just keeping the trees alive, Rosemary, is a full-time job!
yup have lost some here which is always tough.
Sorry to hear that! Will be visiting a friend in Harvard in a few weeks......she bought a house with formal gardens ...can't wait to see them!
just a town away.
Yes....she lived there twenty years ago, moved to Foxboro, & is back in Harvard.....I sent her the rose Morden Sunrise when she moved into the house....going to make a gardener out of her yet! Sunny & hot today....what a summer....a watermelon summer!
In the mid 80s today. Still no rain.
Ditto here, but showers should be moving in for the next 5 days....I can only hope!
78° It is finally starting to rain !!!
Heavy showers today...just hope it continues!
