Prayers for you, Kathy - we all need them now & then, and I'm glad to pray for you :-)
Suite 317 Sweet Interruptions
Thanks
I'm happy to add prayers for all who need them.
My brother is doing well and happy to say I believe he is accepting the fact that all prayers from family & friends have helped him through his journey. He will not be doing any more chemo as that made him go crazy. All family spent Easter with him and hope we have a lot more time to have him with us. Such a special time had by all. Hope you all had a special Easter too.
Keeping him in our prayers Pegi.
Please keep Jaye in your prayers as she goes for her procedure tomorrow. I will post as soon as I know anything.
Prayers for everybody.
Update on Jaye from Kel.
Jaye came thru procedure ok...put one stint in to open 80 % blocked artery and needs 3 more for an artery in a couple weeks. 3 of her old grafts are totally blocked.
She went from 20 % to 100 % in that artery so that is good and he will open the other one in 2 weeks
Prayers are answered
Amen.
Awesome, she'll feel so much better.
Halleluah!
Glad she's staying overnight too - she'll get some supervised rest.
I know that Kel's looking after the menagerie.
Glad Kel is keeping us posted on Jaye.
Son took down a truck load of material to junk yard and I hope he gets a nice sum for all of it. Still a lot more to go. Yard is beginning to look like a yard now. I'll be so happy when all stuff is gone. Then my electrical and bathroom will be taken care of. I have eliminated the first contractor. Some other projects have to be put on hold. Still have a roof over my head and that's a plus. Don't think anything has been brought up to code in many years.
Sounds like you're on a mission Pegi.
That junk yard is closed, making way for new freeway. Went to another today and we will see what happens. Yes, on a mission, Linda Kay, and hope we can get rid of the rest of junk. Then the so called car port has to come down. Hope we can make this happen in next two weeks so we can get electrical work done plus bathroom. Soon Mandy will have a nice yard to play in. I've got her so spoiled that she won't stay out in back unless I'm out there. So afraid I'm going somewhere without her.
At least we have nice weather to work in. My sweet peas are blooming and seed has been scattered around, probably by the birds, so I have them coming up all through the flower bed, among the roses. Kind of looks pretty among the weeds. LOL
Sounds like you've got quite the project on your hands, Pegi - it'll keep you out of trouble for awhile lol
Looking forward to seeing progress and completion pictures, please :-) Mandy's so adorable I can just see her, keeping you in her sight line all the time. She loves you dearly, obviously.
Ah sweetpeas. My dad used to have them growing up the fence at the back of the garden. I can't think of Spring without thinking of my dad & sweetpeas. Thank you for the memories, Pegi
Days are getting warmer, still walk Mandy every day but with the hotter days we walk in early evening when it starts cooling down. Discovered a guava tree on one of our walks. Didn't know what it was until it started setting fruit. They are so good and of course had to look them up to find how good they are for you. Hope I can get more than the birds. Didn't know they came in yellow, red and salmon color.
I'll take a picture of old car port being torn down and then after it is gone. What a difference it will make. Hoping in a couple weeks we can get the city to give us the OK to start work on bathroom & electrical. Hoping I feel up to playing in the dirt now.
"playing in the dirt" How wonderful that sounds :-)
I have never heard of the different colors of guava. Sounds interesting.
No one has posted for a while, I guess everyone is going to Facebook. Glad to hear Jaye is doing better, always great to hear good news.
Still on the mission to get the yard in order. I have pictures of before and after old structure torn down, just haven't put them in the computer yet. What a difference that makes. So, talked to the city and the gal says we have to have EVERYTHING gone plus my estimates and then they will come out again and inspect the property. Now what is wrong with flower pots sitting out?? Most of them are in one place, but I should put everything in the shed. Told my son we will fill up the two sheds (one small tin one and one Tuff shed). It seems they just don't want to give me the grant. Also because I didn't put down electrical on things I wanted done I can't go ahead with that until they inspect it. We are getting an extension until May 19th to complete all the work. Son said maybe they will say get rid of dog too, but that's not an option. So, really don't know if I'll get that darn grant or not. Venting and raging is now over..............
I spoke to Jaye when she got out of the hospital. She;s feeling like she can talk more, now that her heart's vents are cleared more. She's getting more rest now, too.
Thank the Lord! Praise be :-)
Pegi, sorry to hear the city if giving you the run around.
Glad you got to talk to Jaye. She had us all scared when we heard she had to be paddled twice. So glad she is doing better.
Just heard that Ernie Weed passed away yesterday. He was a wonderful gardener, and a long time DG member.
His tomatoes were legendary.
He leaves his bride of many years. They sound like they were a very happy couple.
RIP Ernie......you're with the Lord now.
Praying for Blessings on his family. Their strength is in the Lord.....
Oh so sorry to hear of Ernie's passing. Always enjoyed his posts.
Yes, Ernie was a very knowledgeable gardener - very prolific and shared his knowledge, his pictures and his tomatoes :-)
He will be missed. His gardens, fishing stories and his bird houses.
I knew about his bird houses and gardens, but not about his fishing stories. He did have a wonderful sense of "self" and how much everyone in the world has worth. I think that's what I got most from him - that we are all worthy.
Sorry to hear of Ernie passing. I too enjoyed all his posts and pictures. Prayers for his bride and family. I know he will be missed by so many. RIP dear Ernie.
I am surprised there is not a posting in the Memory Garden for Ernie. He was so well liked here.
Is there not? Who looks after this - DG or members?
I know several ladies sent a message to admin, but admin is not responding to anyone for some reason. Not even in the to the complaints here.

That's just WRONG. Ernie had been with DG for a # of years, and yes - was well liked.
Happy Mother's Day!!
I've lost 14 lbs! Surgeon had said I need to lose 50 to 100 lbs LOL no way I should need to lose 100 lbs, as per my Dr. By Sept when I next see my surgeon, I should have lost 42 lbs if I continue. That should be sufficient to have surgery (plus have my embolisms 6 months in the past).
Hoping for Oct.
Now, just waiting for the Walkthrough, and our move at the end of THIS month!!!
Congrats on the weight loss Susan!
Happy Mother's Day everybody
Thanks, Linda Kay!
Happy Mother's Day to everyone - to those with 4 legged and 2 legged "kids".
Going to make marinated mushrooms from a vegan recipe book my DD & DSIL gave me for Mother's Day - to go with the lentil walnut loaf I made yesterday, and there's So much left of it - it's great tasting!
Yard is starting to look good. Structure is done, most of junk is gone. Took my bids over to city hall for electrical work and bathtub reglazed & new hot water heater. Before they will even let anyone start work they have to come and inspect the property. I can't even have flower pots around, can't believe how strict they are. Now that I have pictures in computer I'm having a hard time posting them. Susan asked for before & after pictures of the ugly structure and now forgot how to post them.
oh yeah - did you ever get the LightShot program installed, Pegi?
No, Susan, I didn't get the LightShot program installed. I played around a little and now got my pictures where I can upload them. Just has to take me time to figure things out...........over & over again.
Tim, my son with his tools of choice to tearing down structure. Structure is down and more clean up to do. Beginning to look like a back yard now. Have no idea why everything has to be gone, inspectors aren't a popular group around here. Sorry, but I have to keep my plants, especially the 6 plumeria cuttings I just potted up. Sheds are packed with things that later on will come out so we can go through crates again. The garage has to be the next major project. So many things in cupboards that I'll never use again has to go.
Looks like you guys have been busy Pegi.
I would not get rid of my plants either.
