Traditions

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Was just posting and thought about this - my mom always made us wait until after the Thanksgiving meal to cut into the wonderful pies. Do you guys do that or something else. I generally make the pies a day ahead along with most other things like stuffing, corn souffle, green beans, etc., but I let anyone who wants have pie on Wednesday before the holiday. My mom is probably rolling over in her grave, but that's the new tradition (and my dad liked it for as long as he was able also)!

I like your new tradition...I'll have a piece of pumpkin and mince!!! Thanks! Shirley

Love good mincemeat, and I'm the only one in my family who does. My DD won't even let me mention it. So I'll have a slice of mince, please, with just a sliver of sweet potato on the side. Oh, can I add some pecan? And if that's coconut cream, slip a tad of it somewhere in there. That date nut bread is oh so tempting, and I do fancy the gingerbread with a little whipped cream, the real stuff. Hope you made enough for everyone else!

Well Aimee, I thought I did, now I'm not so sure LOL

Oh, haighr, don't mind me, I eat like a bird....a BIG BIRD. Hehehe, guess I should have warned you.

I like traditions Candee but it doesn't hurt to bend the rules once in a while - especially when it comes to cake!! Anyway I always think we eat so much on THE DAY that we don't really appreciate the goodies at the end of the meal. I am really bad at buying chocs and lovely things for Christmas and eating them all way ahead of time...lol!!
