Hello Everybody!! Are you still here?

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

All my threads showed back up a day or two after they disappeared. What do you mean "adding new threads"?

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

I never lost my watched threads, but have been trying to clear out old threads that never have activity. I do know there is now a 'solved' button again on the Plant ID forum. We havent had one since the first of Dec 2015.

The "solved" button is also back on the bird and insect/spider IDs.

Hello everyone! I checked DG today for the first time in at least a month. I haven't read all the post on this thread, but wanted to pop in and say hello. My life has gotten crazy for a year or two and my time is being monopolized by other distractions.
It was great to see several of my gardening friends at the Native plant sale recently. Very surprised to see Smockette and her mother Doris, Gypsi and Stephanietx. Josephine I see on a regular basis and organization we belong to. I hope that there is interest in a fall plant swap, but not in October. It is already a busy month.

So good to hear from you, Shelia.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, so good to have you back here again.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

So good to see you posting again, Sheila! I vote for something like mid-September. That gives us time to get stuff planted before frost.

Cleburne, TX(Zone 8a)

I check in occasionally. Miss how DG used to be and get frustrated trying to navigate to latest messages, etc. Probably because I haven't spent enough time using it.

Well nice to meet you

Good to have you back with us.

Hi DNP! Good to see you again!

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

Yep, its in block forms now instead of one liner easy. Good to see ya DNP!

Lewisville, TX(Zone 7b)

I am sorry that I am not updating like I used to. On June 1st I fell & am now in a leg brace & arm sling...won't be going anywhere for awhile....miss you all!!!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I am sorry Cindy, I hope you be doing better soon. Take care.
Josephine.

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

Sorry to hear about the fall. You can still post even if you can't garden right now.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Cindy, so sorry you fell and hurt yourself. I foresee you becoming a proficient one-handed typist.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Sorry to hear that Cindy, hope you don't have to have surgeries in the future. Be careful and start planning what you are going to do in the garden, when you can.

Does indeed. Perfect resting weather coming up with these temps too. you'll be fitter in the fall, I hope

Sorry about your fall and all, Cindy.
I haven't been on DG in ages but that has nothing to do with anything other than I'm just trying to take care of my life, pulling up American Gerrymander (thanks, someone), learning to use my new smartphone (a gift that is driving me crazy and proves one should be careful re what one wishes for), and all kinds of boring stuff.

I do have a question, tho. I previously had software that blocked ads on my computer. One of the genius techs at Apple said I should remove that software. I did. This is the 1st time I've been on DG without the ad blocker and I am seeing a ton of ads. For ex, as I type there's one for Osmocote Plus available at Amazon with a button that says 'Buy now'. Very annoying. Have ads like this always been on DG? Or am I just lucky? It would be nice to know before I call Apple and cuss 'em out.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

You can turn off ads in your DG preferences. If you're using Firefox as your browser, you can install the AdBlock Plus add-on and the ads will go away on almost all web pages.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Joan, you can go to your preferences and choose not to see the ads.

Dallas, TX

Stephanie & Josephine - I was happy to see your responses. But guess what? When I went to Preferences I already had chosen not to see the ads. So I hit 'submit' again just for grins and will see if that works.

Stephanie - I had Adblock (not Adblock Plus) and that is what the Apple Tech had me remove. I'm going to call them back to get a better explanation. Isn't technology wonderful?

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

Since you are a paid subscriber you should not be getting ads, that's one of the reasons you pay. I have never gotten ads on DG but I do get a few on other sites. You may need to log out and log back in.

Dallas, TX

I think they're gone now. Just weird that I had previously marked 'no ads' on my preferences site. Apparently by hitting enter (hate to say 'submitting') without making any changes did the trick.

And in the highlight of the evening news - - - we got rain! Don't think it was much. Lot of very loud thunder and very bright lightening, but the rain seemed to be very light. Will see if there's even a trace in my rain gauge tomorrow morning.

Fort Worth, TX

you can choose to block ads on DG without special software. In settings. Someone told me how and I made my ads go away

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

We had a night just recently that may have caused the problem- glad its gone.
