My son closed on his house last Thursday....soooo...he and his 2 boys are our new neighbors!! and his dog who has been living here for a while. They probably won't be moved in for at least a month, but will be back and forth getting stuff done. Needless to say Grandma has been "riding herd" on the boys while Dad and SO(?) have been painting etc. It is so great to see the little ones romp and play safely..right now they are on a major hwy,but new home is country. Poor Maya(dog),however is rather confused..one day the troops are here and the next gone, but at least she knows where to come for breakfast. I told dh we need to put a bell on the back gate and teach her to ring it. LOL Oh well, once they're moved in for good she should figure it out. They will be here for Thanksgiving...wish they'd be here for Christmas as well but DS's X will have the boys...wish he could trade holidays this year as by then the house should be good to go. Oh well, I'm really happy they're moving from their present locale.
Precious new neighbors
What a wonderful thing! I know you will all benefit from the chance to be neighbors!
Most folks don't have the opportunity to pick their neighbors - how wonderful to have your family right next door!
You must be so happy!!! I know I certainly would be!! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Why don't you plan a separate Christmas for just your family? I have done that before to allow for my ex's children to be with their mom on Christmas and then we had "our" Christmas a couple of days later. The kids loved it -- they got 2 Christmas'. Just a thought.
PS - And Santa drop things off for me to hold for them until our special Christmas.
I am happy for you. It is nice isn't it?
Gosh..can't believe it's Sat. already!! No computer time lately. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving...our's was happy chaos. DS etc. came early so he could make apple pancakes for breakfast. What a mess!!! Thought I was a sloppy cook..NOT..it took me over an hour to clean just the stove top after he got done. Brad_cj...good idea. I'll suggest it and see how it goes over.
