I sum up new birds once per month and I am finally posting for August:
100 Great Horned Owl
Work kept me from going on the high altitude tour, and allergies have kept me from doing much at lower elevations.
2016 Year List
I already counted the barred owl by the call, but yesterday we saw one sitting in a tree next to the house. First time I have ever seen it. We usually go by the call & it was a thrill.
September is a good birding month in Colorado but I spent it indoors:
101 Sharp-shinned hawk
102 Black-headed Grosbeak
both passing through my back yard
I will be leaving DG in a couple days. Will miss you. I should be able to read your posts.
Alas, no new birds in October.
44 Marsh Hawk
Notice my time is up Nov 13, so will not be able to post. Can read yours, however.
I am sorry to see another "old-timer" go. Best Wishes.
I will miss the bird people. this site has become very annoying. I have hit going to next one several times before it will move. Not so on other sites.
I had see a man trap a wild chicken , but I don't his country https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtAVR-Hxz80
Two Birds to add for December to total up 2016:
103 Mountain Chickadee
104 Cackling Geese - Final birds for 2016
Previous years:
2015 118
2014 102
only year prior to that was 1992, 63 - & that was a backyard count at one location
