Morning Glories 2015 #18

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

President bush is so pretty.

Helena, that lattice is under my carport and I grow most of mine there and on the front porch. Like you, I got tired of trying to carry them out of the rain and storms.
So while the rain does blow in on them, its not usually a deluge. I think the rain helps keep the bugs washed off of mine.

Jackie thanks for the reply. I need to try to arrange something else for my vines. The window sill didn't work b/c wind nocked the pots down.

I didn't see it go to the 2nd page either, was wondering why there wasn't a reply on the other page. Guess we are not use to this format yet.

Beautiful blooms Jackie!

Thanks Helena,
Helena, wonder if your dh would build something for you, like a lean-to up
close to the house, open to the outside to let the sun in and give you access??
Or what if he could just put some see thru plastic on
tall posts close to the house and bring it out 5 or 6 feet and attach it to posts only 2 or 3 feet high at that point? Maybe the lower trajectory would make it harder
for the wind to rip it off.. Just thinking out loud.here. :-)

Thanks Linda. I love Pres Bush too. A special mg.

Jackie, I gave up on dh doing any kind of work for my garden. I had to put the pins to hold roof sheets that were missing myself. Thank God I'm still able to do some things myself otherwise I'll be calling my sons over for a meal first. So far dh had to replace my oven element that went bad, now he has to replace a part for my washing machine. Thank goodness the part just came in as my daughter and I had to go to the laundry mat. A very long time since I had to do that!
I think I'll be able to place maybe half a dozen large pots next to the house on the ground instead of the window sill. Going through some seeds I found seeds of Pres Bush you sent me Jackie awhile back, tempted to start one!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

We had to use the laundromat last yr Helena. Our washer was down for about a week, It was awful being without it.
Hope you do start a Pres Bush. The one I grew this past summer and just sent you sds of made the prettiest blooms.

Gautier, MS

Jackie, I think I will start 3 seeds, to compare and see how different the blooms are.
I know when I saw from my kitchen window my wild indica blooming up high where it climbed a small tree, I want to grow some in the back yard so I can enjoy them when Im doing dishes or cooking!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Helena, it was in 2014 that Pres Bush made all those lovely blooms. I have to start
putting names on all my pics.
Here is a pic from 2014 that I know is Pres bush
# 2 Pres Bush this past summer 2015
So I think you should start 2 from 2014 and maybe 1 from 2015
I'm going back to 2014 when i get time and look for other pics of PB..

Beautiful blooms Jackie! I like the different blooms on the two vines. It seems that it's a good bloomer too.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena PB is a good bloomer. His blooms do vary

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I agree with Helena, those are beautiful!

Hello, everyone! I missed you guys!

I don't have any morning glories growing yet, but I have the seeds, and in March or so, I will start some seeds indoors. With all this space to work with, I will be able to grow aLOT of things!

Hey Nichole, glad to see you found us. You have a nice big yard!

Gautier, MS

Jackie, I'm going to sow PB as you suggested. I also found a packet of your seeds from 2009 so will do one of those too! Hope you have time to find the other PB pics.

Great yard Nichole. Will lots of pics to share here come spring!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda.
Looking forward to your pics Nichole.
"09" PB blooms were pretty too as I recall Helena.
Can't wait to see what those sds produce.

Gautier, MS

Me too Jackie. The last 2 days have been cold here in the 34's but at least the sun has been shining and warming us up by noon! I even place a few of my mgs by the window sill inside, hoping to encourage them to start making buds.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

OMGosh I thought I posted hours ago.

Probably unusual for us to be warmer than you are.
Will be 60 here by Friday and Sat b4 temps
start falling again,
Debra, on my DG homepage, it still shows the last post to our
forum was Dec 8 by Helena.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I get the same info.
