Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Honibee, what time are you coming? I'll make the rest. LOL If you aren't coming, I guess I will do a plain pumkin pie and a pecan pie topped pumpkin pie-my favorite!! I don't make mine until Thanksgiving day.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

Sounds as though we are all on a pie making binge, I myself just took out the last of my 4 pecan pies! and I have to make 2 strawberry Yum-Yum's tomorrow! pies pies everywhere I look! LOL!

It is the first year that I have an oven that works right so have gone crazy. They problem is that I don't know who is going to eat it all. I may have to freeze it for Christmas or go out and drag someone in off of the street. I also made fruit cake last week and have it well wrapped aging a little for Christmas. I know a lot of people don't like fruit cake but some of my family do and I will be sending my Sister one and giving my Mom some also.

I guess I'm late joining in the pie making, but I'll be making pecan and chocolate chess pies today. I was going to make a lemon chess pie, too - but my 13 YO is pretty handy at making lemon bars, and he volunteered to make those in place of the pie. Woohoo - one less pie to make!

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

i bought ready to bake pies from a school funraiser and need to bak them today-pumpkin,dutchapple,pecan and forestberry for thanksgiving. More for xmaz!! =]
Devil eggs are boiling! what else can i make today to get headstart?

I just got 2 pumpkin pies out of the oven.
HoniBee, you save that pecan for me....will be there as soon as I can. That sounds sooooooo good. I slice of that pecan pie to go with my early morning coffee, and morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and the rest for dinner.

I would try to mail it if you can't make it but it more than likely get lost. :)

Blum, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh! boy! would I love to poke my head in your doors. What a wonderful mouth-watering,home-cooking,smell to fill the house.

I make pecan pie but not that often cause I am the only one that eats it. DH will eat it but he likes pumpkin so that is what I make for him. I could sit down and eat a whole pecan pie myself..........but I don't.....not at one sitting that is. I also make the little pecan tarts. So if I want pecan pie,I usually make those little things.
Thank you for the offer anyway HoniBee.
You know come to think of it; I have an extra pie crust in the freezer, I just might go make me one after all and have it for breakfast in the morning. Gee, I hope I have pecans.
Hey, HoniBee; if you have trouble with your pie crust shrinking while it's baking; put your pie crust in the freezer for about 15 min. before putting the filling in and won't shrink while it's baking. Todays helpful hint there.

Just exactly what time did you finish? I took the pumpkin out at 9:31 and the peach out at 11:43 give or take a minute. LOL

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

My neighbour is cooking lemon meringue pie and pecan pie and I'm invited!! Whoopee!!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

The chocolate chess pie just came out of the oven and the two pecan pies went in right behind it. Then a pan of lemon bars and the dessert making is done.

On to rolls, green beans, sweet potato casserole, congealed salad, devilled eggs, and broccoli/rice casserole :) Who's going to be up with me while I cook this mess o'stuff tonight??? (It's my own fault; I puttered around my greenhouse all morning, and didn't start cooking until around 1:30!!!)

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

Wow Terry!!! About the congealed salad. Is it the one with cranberries, oranges, nuts etc - held together with jello and then tossed on top of lettuce?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Awww, thanks Louisa - I offered to do the sides, dessert and rolls since my sister-in-law is doing the turkey, dressing, and mashed potatoes (we're trying to lighten the load from my MIL this year, and it was rough to get her to let go!)

A congealed salad - at least down here - has a dairy product added - sometimes cream cheese, or sour cream, or whipped cream; sometimes even mayonnaise, or a combination of these ingredients. It usually has nuts, too - traditionally pecan.

I'm using a recipe that Plantnutz gave me, for a strawberry congealed salad, with strawberries, bananas, pineapple, pecans, sour cream and strawberry jello. I can't wait to try it; I'm sure it'll be a hit (it's over in the recipes forum, under a thread I started looking for congealed salad recipes.
