I made the orange one and now I'm doing the Fisherman's one.
Lovely site Barb, guess I should find out how many pounds they are
Which are you making?
Again, and, as always .. many thanks for your kind words ..
Lorna feels my D in L just JUMPED on this opportunity to set up a family rift .. as far as she is concerned, her family is the only family that counts ..
As Betty said, be a LONG time before I'll let this go .. Murray should be ashamed really, but, then again, he's the one who has to live with her ..
Karen .. what an awesome picture :-)
Enjoy time spent with your family >.
Barb .. the Timmies was so good ..always a treat ..
Betty .. and Barb .. happy jacket making for the furries :-)
Judy, how was the trip? CLEAN house on return home .. HAH .. nice dream tho :-)
Sun came out, think we're going out for a ride on the Mule .. better dress war, only in the high 40s ..

~M~
Guess "M" with Lorna still working she is trying hard to help out at home, likely doesn't want Gord worrying over chores not done.
Betty - read the post above!!! LOL
Open my eyes right. Light
Must have been reading your post on previous thread and skipped to this one and forgot half of what I read. Lol

waiting for someone to come by, to look at the piano. Offering it for $400, worth $900.
Once was offered $50 for it!! If it doesn't sell, I'll take it with us to the mobile, end of January. There's room for it, of course.
Barb said she made the orange one, now working on the fisherman one.
"M", I am sorry to hear she is treating you that way.
Todd and I went our for a late breakfast, then shopping, now back home and I have a pot of chili cooking to be served with cornbread for dinner.
Not much rain, just light rain off and on this morning.
Here's hoping Susan..$$ would come in handy. Is Bob on temp hours now, home with you for part of the week?
Timbrr mart dropped off the bifold door I ordered so hoping Greg can drop in tomorrow and install it. Had one but with the flood the guts of the door must have gotten pinky so it falls off the track, twice it hit me in the head so thought with the girls hanging their coats in the closet now that cold weather is here I needed to replace it..maybe tomorrow will be the day!
Opted to make mashed potatoes and have stuffed peppers, squash..Chinese for lunch tomorrow
Should find something mindless to do for a few hours otherwise I will be in bed early then will count sheep half the night!
Yummy Lindakay..glad you got to go out..taking Todd with you can either be good or bad right? Lol
you must be in a lot of pain after a day of walking.
Great you haven't had to contend with the storm
Noticed over the last hour the wind has really picked up
Should do a number on what leaves are left on the trees
Different seeing houses on the other side of the street, such a different viewin the fall/winter
Barb, one of the sites I get e-mails from showed this, thought it was too adorable
http://www.youcanmakethis.com/products/pieced-pet-pillows-epattern-pdf
Bob had to give up the work truck, and it would be an additional 2 hours earlier for him to wake up, in order to get to work, so he turned in his uniform and is waiting for EI to kick in. They told him, at ServiceMaster, that they may be calling people back, and he'd be one of the first. In the meantime, when we move back to the mobile in 3 months.
In the meantime, Cathy came to look at the piano, and she took a video of her playing for the person (Suzanne) who's interested in buying it. Suzanne has a Down's son, and Cathy's thinking this might be good for him, as he's tactile, and playing would be that.....
It's out of tune, of course, moving twice this year, but not terribly so. It holds it's tune rather well, actually.
Let's hope you hear from her...
Lordy Lordy I'm getting to be a good cook if I say so myself
Talk about delicious, I'm so stuffed..from one pepper I've enough for tomorrow night.
Got to stop making meals and eating them, freezers are full
Guess I could take November off from cooking, have enough to get me through.
wow - you've gotten enough cooked for November? Invite everyone over for another Thanksgiving lol I want some of your pies.......
I've been moving things around and playing in the dirt. I have a box of small trees which are potted up. I will take them to my friends Manuel and Araley who have a farm and a small grocery store. They can sell them and if they can donate part of the money to the woman who is raising children whose parental rights were given up by their parents. Under Mexico's system this disqualifies her from getting government support for them so we do what we can to raise funds. We are also trying to get some local people involved as they are still more used to a society in which extended families take care of children in these situations.
Anita was here to clean. I just lovve this woman. She is so cheerful. She admires the gardening I'm doing and works well without supervision. She was delighted with the tomato plant I gave her and she's really happy that I'm not trying to tie her to coming on certain days. I told her whenever she can get here I'll be happy. I think her scheduling can be difficult if people want her on certain days so this helps her. We hug each other when she gets here and when she leaves. A really nice bond has developed quickly. I'm feeling much less overwhelmed by the amount of work that needs to be done here.
I have a bunch of little gac plants coming up. You can google them. They are very nutricious. I tried to grow them a few years ago with a lack of success. Ordered seeds from an eBay seller in Thailand and they were all sprouting when they arrived. Maybe this time I'll be successful. The shelves I got from Dana are perfect for starting seeds.
Betty, I don't know how big my property is. It's a hilltop that we keep extending. I give away a lot of the plants that I start successfully. It keeps me involved in the community.
My big poker game is tonight so I need to eat something.
hugs, katie
Good luck to Susan and Katie. Hope you both come out ahead financially.
Katie - how nice that you get along so well with your cleaning lady! Sounds like a perfect match :-)
WHAT? someone giving up parental rights means the kids get no care $ given to the person who IS caring for them? Does this mean the kids don't "exist"? That sounds so stupid....
Being involved in the community is GOOD - congrats to you for being who you are
I haven't heard from anyone about the piano - not the woman who checked it out, nor the woman who is interested.
It sure seems backward to me, anyone taking in abandoned kids should surely get government support.
All is well here. weather is beautiful. In the low 80s as a high and 65 as a low.
Linda, I am so glad you did not get that storm. When I was watching the weather channel, it looked like Texas was going to get pounded.
No problems with MILs here. First one died real early in our marriage and second one lived in Beaumont, Texas and she and her husband, Vern parents, thought any thing in Las Vegas was evil. But they were nice. They came to visit once and left early. Said they could feel the evil of the city. She died in her sleep a few years later.
When we went to Texas to visit, I was greeted nicely but they were stand offish. Vern didn't like to travel so we just stayed home in sin city and enjoyed our life.
Marilyn, your DIL is like my step-daughter. Wish we could send them someplace together.
Betty, thanks for the idea. I think I will stuff some peppers tomorrow.
My daily work schedule is staying the same but is starting to entail more time. Vern is getting less able to do much. We have an appointment with the Neurologist Monday. I need to make inquires to find some help getting him in and out of the shower and in and out of bed and dressed. He is getting less helpful in getting him dressed. But we still have our sense of humor.
We actually went out yesterday to watch grandson play tennis for the State Championship. Of course, he lost in a tie breaker and that was very unpleasant to watch but up to that point I was having a nervous breakdown from all of the back and forth. The week before he won the region championship and we were not there. Vern got sunburned because I was not paying attention. Thank goodness it was only a slight burn. He has decided he no longer likes pork, and does not want to eat to much beef so I am down to chicken.
I am going to get up tomorrow, make a pot of coffee and have a cup of coffee on the back patio before I do anything. Was going to do that today and just did no get to it.
But since I have been back on my medicine, even though it is reduce amount by 75mg, I am feeling so much like my old drugged self. Heeheeheeheehee. Vern is so happy I am back on it.
Betty, so glad you have someone to help with your leaves. We are getting to old to be raking up leaves and you are younger than me but still to old.
My daughter is going mad planning another wedding. But I know she will get it done even though the bride to be is in Kansas City, MO, starting a new job.
Karen, what a happy photo.
Barb, it is obvious you ave very loved.
Katie, you are like me. I love my housekeeper. It give me more time in the garden. Well anyway it use to.
It is getting time that I need to start to get Vern ready for bed. You all have a wonderful Sunday morning. Hugs, Sharon
Marilyn, you are loved by a lot of people, screw your DIL.....(SORRY LADIES ). Hugs, Sharon
Didn't sell the piano - they said 2 keys were not able to be tuned........DUH - they aren't a tuner, so can't know that.
Up .. slept like doo doo .. not sure if it was the cold medication, or, just all the STUFF banging around in my head.
Gord's eye surgery tomorrow .. DS is away in the Dominican for a weeks holiday, knows nothing about it .. and I am emotional because of that fact ..makes me realise that because of one person .. the D in L .. a complete family unit has been trashed .. '
Am I bitter ? You betcha I am ..
Sharon .. so good to hear your meds are working, but, sorry to hear Vern's level of care has escalated .. heavy lifting is not good for your back .. good luck finding a care worker to come in .. NOTE .. ask for references from other and/or former clients .. if not forthcoming .. leave them ..Enjoy your coffee .. going to have to wait for my tummy to decide what it's up to this morning ..
Katie, good luck with your 'gac' seeds .. I still haveta look it up.
Jeeze, a nursing colleague of mine took in 2 children (bro and sis) .. parents were unfit and didn't want them .. Michelle gets funding for both children .. in 3 years, she has turned their lives around .. 2 of the sweetest children ..
Hope everyone is fine and well .. pie making day .. and, shets to be washed and put out to dry .. fingers crossed that I can manage this ..

Will be in the corner for surgery "M". Sending Gord prayers that it goes well.
Waving this morning as I'm off to finish this sweater.....
Morning,
Just stopped raining..
"m" hard decision you had re telling Murray about Gord's operation, damned if you do and damned if you don't! Is it day surgery or will they keep him in due to his other issues? Pie day, think I will take one out of the freezer and treat myself.
Holy wah Barb, finish the piece, you are always at that stage?
Susan, sorry you didn't get to sell it..do you play? If you do perhaps the Lord wants you to have music back into your life when you move back home..nov 1st is coming soon, is that when you give the notice?
Sharon, you do sound so upbeat, not that you didn't before but I'm glad you are taking time for yourself. Sorry about Vern needing the extra care, here is hoping you find a wonderful caregiver.
Sin city, lol. Keep hearing everyone should visit Las Vegas at least once in their lifetime..ok guys, let's all pack our bags. Lol
Katie, how lucky to now have Tony and Anita..you seem to be getting out more, am sure that's good for you. Dreadful about the get not helping abandoned children..community is blessed having you and others try to raise funds for this cause..ohh soon it will be Santa time won't it..last year was a bust due to your illness..you did get the wig and hat for Santa right, forget the answer, know I asked before.
Karen, are you still flying high?
I've been playing lazy this morning, well not really lazy, just puttering around having a relaxing time. Woke several times during the night due to howling winds, can't believe there are still leaves on the trees.
Just going to put wash into dryer, get peppers put into individual containers for freezer. I made so much filler for peppers that I half left so might take a run to foodland for a cabbage and make cabbage rolls, need cases of pop for Halloween as well, just got to push myself to go
then the day is mine.
Did want to get new closet door put on closet in basement, called Greg but he is still at the snowmobile shop so could try doing it myself hmmm could you know, lol
Made it home late last night. 13 hour drive! The dogs that stayed home were excited to see those that went with. Car still needs to be unloaded, then a LOT of laundry to do, grocery shopping, house needs cleaning, and I'd really just like to go back and lie down for a while!
I have a presentation today 2 1/2 hours away. That's keeping me grounded and busy until Rory & family get here. Makes me feel so good that coming here is and has been at the top of his coming home list. He always has loved it up here.
Daughter of Veteran just called and said they moved presentation to a hall as so many are coming. Reporter from newspaper will be there and she said possibly TV coverage. Whoa makes me nervous as presentation is fairly short, not much I can do to stretch it out.
Deb, glad you are home safe and sound..did you incur any of the bad weather? Let the dogs play, you go lay down, chores can wait for another day..likely you are too wound up to rest..how did the show go?
Don't you be nervous Karen, that is absolutely fantastic..bet Rory is proud of the work you've undertaken.
Must tell you about a little town in Ontario..St George I believe it is, a young lad 7 has been fighting cancer all his life, family were told that he hasn't long to live so parents called some family and friends and asked if they could celebrate Christmas early, being this past weekend. News got out and the entire town got into it, Christmas parade, thousands came out, young lad drove in sleigh with Santa..stores decorated..one firm did imitation snow all over the lawn..twas Christmas for sure..does your heart good to hear of such kindness. Not the wish family want for their son but a wish that he could enjoy one more Christmas! Brings tears to my eyes..
Here you go, worth watching
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=us_HbfXAolU
Awww Bless his heart, people can be so kind when they so desire.
That they can
Must be sunshine in all your neighbourhoods and you are out getting things done
So quiet here
Got a lazy on, watching tv
Didn't have to cook lunch, won't have to cook supper so why not
I was in the insomnia club last night due to a killer headache. Couldn't remember where the aspirin is and I didn't want to take a narcotic pain killer when not fully awake. So I was up early.
Our electricity went out at about 8am and didn't come back until after 2pm. With no computer breaks I got a lot of gardening done. Thank goodness the weather has cooled off.
Wish they wouldn't say there was no major damage from Hurricane Patricia. It makes me want to scream, "Tell that to the people who lost everything!!"
Amma will be in San Ramon in mid-November. I think I'll be able to go. She is there for 5=6 days.
Think it's really sinking in that my IRS problems are over. Some energy seems to be returning. I'm hopeful.
I've been picking okra and sharing it with Dana and Tom. Cherry tomato plants are flowering. With all the rain we had in Sept and early this month lots of the seeds I planted are sprouting. Several of my jackfruit trees have passed away but I still have about twenty. the Walmart honeysuckle is doing fine, making new growth. I have two miracle plants the made it through the summer: One blueberry and one mint. They are two that don't usually survive August here.
Lots of cucumbers and squash are shooting up and I may also have parsly coming. Lemons and other citrus are ripening.
Dana sent me an article on keyhole gardening and I may try it in my currently barren back yard. I walked outside our fence today and enjoyed the amount of shade we have created.
Marilynne, remember we will all be with you tomorrow, holding hands and praying for Gord.
hugs, katie

Been raining here since Saturday early afternoon...we seriously need the rain as we are in a serious deficit for the last few months (50%)
Where Murray and his wife and allowing such drama are concerned...Shame on both of them. Allowing behavior like that will come back to them in ways they will never see coming.
Good thoughts for Gord's operation tomorrow...hugs for you M for not smacking dil !
Karen, Great picture and can feel your joy. Best regards for the good you are doing. I am sure your words and actions will be perfect as they are from the heart.
Marilyn - believe she means "Gas" seeds, for the gas plant.
I'll be there, in the corner, waiting with you re: Gord's surgery.
Betty - I know how to play a bit - know the notes, just haven't played at all in a LONG time. Too much time on computer lol
What a wonderful this "small" town in Ontario did - BIG heart for sure.
Deb - so glad you're back, safe & sound
I have a lot of knitting & quilting projects to do, for our church. busy busy busy!!
"Gac" is correct. kb
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gac
Looks delicious !!!!!!!!!!! :-)
Many and multiple thanks for your thoughts, best wishes and prayers for Gordon tomorrow ..
We've kept busy all day .. he has stacked wood and buzzed up some with the chainsaw .. of course, he's hands are sore tonight .. feel so bad for him when he approaches a task he has done many times before, but, he now has to re think it ..
Katie .. you sound so upbeat :-) Wonderful ..
Jean .. D in L has always been a 'drama queen', and, Brooklyn has followed in her footsteps .. I know they have their hands full with her .. what is it they say about 'pay backs' ?
Best get myself mobile again ..
I'll check in in the morning .. surgery is at 1pm .. day surgery ..
HUGS
~M~
Well, I am checking in from San Antonio. I see the surgeon in the morning.
"m", we are keeping you both in our prayers for tomorrow afternoon.
Katie, sounds like you have two green thumbs.
Karen, I know you will do an excellent job with your presentation.
Linda Kay, Fingers crossed for you. Hope you get a date ASAP.
Yup M...what goes down has a nasty habit of coming back to bite you when you least expect it. I would have had to ask one question....would they have preferred Smokey put his pain on hold to meet their schedule? But then, I have a tendency to be a bit "to the point" when people are rude.
Good to see some sunshine in your posts Katie....I sincerely hope all goes well for you to see Amma in November.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers for M's DH. M I bet it will be harder on you than Gord.
Coyotes are loud and proud tonight. The last few night (about 3am) I used the rifle and
shoot a couple of shots over their heads. The moon has been so bright and that means the coyotes like to prowl around.
I am a little bummed out as I had a nice long chatty post and it just went poof. I sure wish I could make a video of Chaos and his leaves. He runs across the yard chasing the leaves;Of
course the wind has been quite strong so there is almost a whirlpool of leaves. When he runs his ears are flapping and there is such a grin on his face.
Good luck at the doc's tomorrow LK.
D
Morning .. 26F here right now .. dogs all went out and had a good old roll in the frosty grass ..
I would have joined them, but felt I had best hold back LoL
They just look so darned happy rolling around out there ..
All is full speed ahead for the surgery .. and I will post when I can following ..
LK .. hope there are no weather issues for you (re rain) .. good luck ma dear :-)
I know what that pain is like .. sat my butt in a wheelchair for almost 2 months !
Jean .. as a matter of fact they would have wanted us to cancel the vet apt until such a time as everyone could get their collective butts in sync and get here .. we live maybe half an hour away .. once that apt was made, we were committed .. poor Smokey deserved his eternal rest.
The whole thing has certainly opened our eyes to the youth culture of today .. not ALL, but some .. an 'I, ME ME, MINE culture to be sure.
Dianne, YES that moon was something else .. if I were a Coyote I'd be baying too LoL
The big deer Bucks are on the move here .. the RUT is on .. always like to get that text from Lorna just before 8am saying she is at work .. it's pitch black out there and the deer just POP out onto the road ..
Betty .. how are you feeling today ?
Best get a shuffle on ..
Hugs and thanks to all of you ..
~M~
