This isn't anything earth-shattering, but I know that God can handle whatever is presented to Him no matter the size, so here goes...
I'm driving my two children (ages 9 and almost 2) to visit my parents for the holidays (my husband has no time off and would rather watch football anyway). It's at least a 10 hour drive. I really am not apprehensive, just hoping that people drive courteously, my car has no problems and that my children are well behaved.
Thanks so much. God has blessed me richly through each of you.
Prayers please
Hey Smilin',
We are neighbors...I live close to Auburn-Opelika! Hope you are driving the Interstate and you have a cell phone...You will do fine and I send my prayers your way for a safe trip!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Rebecca
smiln32, I will say a prayer tonight that you and your two chidren have a safe and happy trip and a wonderful holiday.
Prayers do wonders. I was a witness to that today.
My prayers will be surrounding your car and family on your trip; have a wonderful day.
Add my prayers for the safe arrival of your family, and the excellent behavior of the little ones. I know their grandmother is on her knees and will be overcome with happiness when you arrive. Please stop often for stretches and refreshments in safe places. And then have a great return trip. Garden angels are accompanying you both ways, so let everyone know when you are safely tucked into your hubby's arms.
You've got 'em.
You will be in my prayers for a safe and wonderful trip.
I add my Prayers too...and I've seen Prayer Power at work today. Jo
you'll be in mine as well. If you are near a computer, leave us a 'got there safe' note, but if not, we'll see you when you get home safely!!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
You have my prayers for a safe and enjoyable trip. Have a great Thanksgiving with your family.
Joan
Thank you all so much. My eyes are a little misty right now. What a delight to know you all are lifting us up to the Father.
We plan to stop in Franklin, TN this afternoon and meet up with Terry (go_vols) and take a break then. We can stretch our legs and eat french fries, while visiting with a garden friend.
My husband also rigged a small TV and VCR in the back seat of the car to help entertain the girls. I hope it works to keep their little minds busy.
Praying that you and your family that you have a very safe trip to your destination and back again.
My prayers go out to eveyone else as well who will traveling this holiday season and wishing each and everyone a Very Happy Thanksgiving; and do eat a drumstick for me.
My prayers are with you as well. Safe journey! Shirley
Consider it done
You got my prayers, and you're gonna do just GREAT!! Why I bet you have even more fun than you ever imagined!!

Praying for your safe return and a Happy Thanksgiving :-)
Here's a status update for those keeping an eye on Smiln32's journey - she made it safe and sound as far as Franklin, TN where she and I had a wonderful visit, and our kids played together at the McDonald's playland.
She headed North on I-65 around 4:45 pm, which will probably put her into her parents kinda late this evening, but she promised to let us know when she arrives safe and sound.
go_vols, thank you for updating us. I do suffer from mother hen syndrome, and won't relax until I know she and those girls are safe. I know you must have all enjoyed the visit, just another benefit of our "little" garden club. Makes me want to take a trip, just so I can anticipate and then enjoy visits with such wonderful friends.
I'LL PRAY YOU AND THE KIDS HAVE A SAFE TRIP AND THANKSGIVING!
Hi. I'm smiln's husband. She called and asked me to let everyone know that she made it safely. Apparently the kids were exceptional and traffic wasn't even too bad. Thanks to everyone for your prayers for their safe trip.
Brent
Thanks, Brent, I can sleep now.
Thank you all so much for your prayers. I know that they worked. In fact, I felt absolutely protected the whole way. I think the idea that my car was "surrounded by prayers" made an immense difference in my attitude. I felt as though we were travelling in an embrace the whole way.
You folks are awesome. So is our God.
Glad your journey was safe. :)
Happy Thanksgiving.
Michele
MAY THE LORD WATCH OVER YOU IN YOUR TRAVELS ON THIS THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY!
Guess I am too late for the trip up. I can however pray for the day, and the return for you! I hope you have a blessed day with your folks.
Thanks again, everyone. We're planning on heading back Saturday afternoon and stopping somewhere for the night. It helps to break the trip up some.
Kaley, the little one, has been so sick since we've been here. Poor baby has had one problem after another. I won't gross you out with all the details. :) She's been a gem most of the time, though, which certainly makes it easier. It also helps that my mother and sister are around to assist.
I'm glad I can share all of this with you. It helps to know that you are here for me.
Smiln, you have my phone numbers - use the cell phone if you want to stop here on your way back. (We'll be on our way back from Knoxville for the big UT/Vanderbilt game, but we should get back here about the time you are coming through...)
Hope Kaley gets better quick, and please DRIVE CAREFULLY (I know you will :) (((HUGS)))
Terry,
Will do. Don't know if we'll make it that far tonight. Bethany is protesting our leaving. :) She is having such a great time. I may try to stay here a little later and not try to make it as far tonight. Either way, I'll call to let you know.
Pray that the weather is good for our trip. The girls are both in good health and good spirits, so that's a great way to start it out. Oh, and I just had a nap, so I'm ready, too. :)
Good deal! Please be careful - our weather has been a bit rough today, so we've scuttled our plans to go to Knoxville to the game. Call me at home if you DO make it this far (we'll leave the light on for ya! ;0) I really hope everyone stays in good health and spirits.
Home safe and sound everyone. Thanks so much for your prayers.
You know in the New Testement where it says God will never give you more than you can handle? Well, I think God must think I can handle a bunch. I was sick on the way up and had to stop for medicine. Kaley was sick during our visit and would you believe Bethany was sick at 3:00am at the motel? I was afraid we'd be stranded in KY, but she toughed it out and we made it home.
I will say that God made sure that nothing impeded our pathway. Drivers were courteous, we had no problems with the car and weather was pleasant almost the whole way. Those were my main concerns.
Thanks again for your prayers.
Whew, one more chick under the wing. Everyone else, drive carefully and know we have you in a protective circle.
