No it's not time yet
We decided last year we'd like to do "Ms Snow Lady" light box..
I want to give heads up on things to look for' that way I can mail at a minimal cost the pattern and snowflakes
This way it gives you time to search for them and you will not have to rush out at the last minute ..
remember, no crafting experience required..
for those of you who can't find in your local $$$ store the scarf, mitts and hat I would include them in the package
Same goes for the block, if any cant find a block I can send one out..don't want anyone who wants to participate not be able to
So for now, if you are THINKING you might like to participate, keep your eyes open for:
YOU WILL NEED
. Glass block (has an opening) watch for a 40 % off coupon for Hobby Lobby
. string of battery operated lights (bought mine at Big Lots but they can be found almost in any craft
store)
. Mactac -optimal..sure makes it easy to get nice round face
. Toque,scarf and mitts - $$$ store
. White/black/orange/red/green (lt-med)
We've had some fun in years gone by, some of you may even have unfinished workshop pieces so this reminder, get them out and have fun with them.. .
The 1st workshop - Victorian Santa sleighs, gee they were beautiful and all enjoyed..many of their friends and relatives received homemade treasures that year..omg was that 2007??? Time flies...

Thought I'd check in on you all, weeks are flying
Going to start a list that you might start getting
A friend gave me a few glass blocks, diamond design vs clear, not the best for this project but they were free so they will do
They did have a white substance painted on sides so put them in hot water, let them soak and worked to take it off..might have left it on except for the fact that it as dirty and scratched, think they were purchased at a restore.
I drilled them which if you get the ones from hobby lobby you will not have to
I bought mactac cut the circle to match the size, I had 2 different sizes. Mactac seemed to adhere and seal quite well so there would be no paint seepage
I gave a few sprays of Matt spray
What is mac tac, and what did you use to cut the holes?
You know the rolls that you get at the $$$ side, has sticky on one side..many use it to line shelves.
I cut out a square of mactac about 2" bigger than the block, centred a bowl that was the right size, traced it and cut the centre out with scissors
Like contact paper. How did you cut the glass?
Cut the glass?? I drilled hole for the lights with a diamond bit
You won't have to do that though as St already done for hobby lobby

Ok
Pit was you who bought one right? Check and see if it has an opening
I have not bought one yet, waiting to go to San Antonio, to get them at hobby lobby.
Ya, unless you already have a diamond bit, you do NOT want to buy one! Expensive.....
I'd send the glass block rather than that Pat but think everyone has a hobby lobby not to far from then so shouldn't be a proble.
Actually when you see one finished you will be sorry you didn't buy more
I am the one who has bought the block Betty. I got it at HL and it does have the hole. I have not gotten the lights yet.
Wonderful Barb, lights will be easy to find shortly..Ahhh 3 months from today will be Christmas Eve
How exciting is that. Lol
Oh Sheeeezzz Betty, you had to go and say that! LOL... I'm looking at my calendar with classes, MD appts, helping kids move and other obligations, and I'm already wondering how I'll get it all done!
Oh dear just 3 months? That is depressing.
No, still plenty of time to get all done
Only gives me 2 months to finish what I want to have done.
I think everyone is going to get an iou from me. I am making a few quilts for the girls, I guess 1 each could be held for Christmas. ...
I am working on wedding quilt for Kyle and Sam, NEED to do something for CJ. Need to do a baby quilt too.
Levi has put in his request for new quilt. I think he got a king size bed.
Don't know where I will find the time !!!
You're going to be busy.
Boy Thunder, they must think quilts grow on trees at your house!
Betty, didn't you do a tutorial on making the upside down wine glasses/candle holders? My DGD saw some and would like to try.
Is this the one Karen?
