Discussion and Help on Distillation of herbs

Goodlettsville, TN

Hi All!

I have searched every where on this subject and get so many different ideas I thought maybe Dave would like to add a distillation forum to the site. I would love to learn this age old practice and I bet there are some more out there that would too! How about it Dave?

Oh Donnajo, soo true' Many, many of us are creating our own homemade"concotions" for our crafts' I have for years myself and am always searching the web for more ideas' I'd rather spend my time learning right here with my friends in the garden and be able to ask a question and get a reply right back' This is something that would benefit many of us here' Hey Dave''' Sis'

Could such threads go in the Health or Herbs forum? They might get a little wider readership that way as there's a little more of a mix of interests in there. :o) I would like to learn about herbs to help with sinus problems, myself!

I would love to learn more about aroma therapy. I have always loved a variety of scents and have played around with herbs in oils.I sure would like to know how to distill herbs in the simpliest way. From what i've seen so far, it seems complicated for my weenie brain.I'm game to try.

Several years ago, I took classes for Bach Flower Remedies. Those 'distillations' are made by gathering the dew from the best flower petals, early in the morning, and also by gathering the best petals and putting them in fresh spring water, in the sunshine, for several hours, and handling all in sterile conditions. I have always thought I could do my own concoctions, so would love it if we continued this thread somehow. Don't know if it should go in the Herbs Forum, or even the Health Forum, though.

Perhaps a forum like"Creative Herbal Crafting" or maybe "Inovative/Herbal Crafting"?? Just a thought, any more ideas? Healthy Herbal/Aromatherapy and Crafts'..........
