Dave I need help (links aren't clickable)

(Zone 5a)

When I receive your email I don't get the underlined connect address that I can click on to go to the link that I am watching. Is it a problem with AOL or do I need to do something to change my email program?
Thanks in advance for your help :)

Wind,

Other AOLers have also reported this same thing on a thread from last month: http://davesgarden.com/showthread/126525.html

Gardenwife came out with a good "workaround" that would let you access the links, even though they were not "clickable".

Thanks Dave, I am not going to be with AOL much longer just until I find another ISP, I will let you know as soon as I find another one.

Good deal, wind. I know most mail programs out there automatically make those clickable, and some just ignore the links altogether.

One day, I may change the newsletter to make it in HTML format (so that it looks like a web page in your mailbox) but that's a ways off.

Hey, Dave - Here's a little article on formatting links for AOL users: http://www.ibiztips.com/email19JUN00.htm Any way this could be scripted into the newsletter? 'Course it would make the thing twice as long if each URL was duplicated so goofy old AOL could read it, too. How many AOL users subscribe to the newsletter, anyway?

GW: that's the thing. It would solve the problem for a minority of readers (the AOL members) while causing annoyances for our non-AOL members.

For this reason, the only real feasible solution is to make the thing an HTML formatted E-mail, with the option to get it in text-only, if you are using a mailer that does not support HTML (like me...)

Dave I have changed my email, updated my preference so I do hope that will help the problem until I can get another ISP.
