Calendars......!!!!!!

Jerome, MI(Zone 5b)

Gee, Dave have an idea..A shared one.....How about a calendar made of pictures from your Photo forum..???? Maybe pick one a month.... I am sure everyone that posts there would be willing to let you use them... There some really nice ones..........Put them for sale in your Store.....with the mugs and sweatshirts......Hummmmm might be a good idea.????? Wantabegardener.....

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

very good idea indeed!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Ooooh, that is a good idea. I'd also be for an online calendar - personal and/or "community calendar", embellished with selected photos from the photo forum - we have some very talented photographers here :)

"down the Shore", NJ(Zone 7a)

Can I be Mr. July?

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

LOL john then can i be mz may! heheheeee

"down the Shore", NJ(Zone 7a)

notmartha, 10 more like us and we've got a calendar...but would anyone buy it? hehehe <@:-) John

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

The Babes and Dudes of DG. I can see it now, muddy overalls, dirty fingernail, hair (what hair there is on some of us) dripping with sweat....Seeeeexy.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Well, I could be Disgusting December!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I would buy the calendar if one thing: Dave must put Love Lies Bleeding on a big page. That way, I can have it to frame for my granddarling's room. When I need a happy feeling, I look at that photo, and I just have to laugh. I think we could alternate months for guys and girls. Maybe make a collage. Or the children of Dgers? So many cute pictures of kids in gardens have been posted here. But Love Lies has to be in it, and just let me know how to order.

Go back to November 8th. The subject of calanders has already been bought up. I would do the Hyperlink thing, but just can't get it done for some reason. If someone could do it for me,sure would appreciate it.

Sure John and I'll be"Frisky February",lol'

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

here's the link to the other thread, but i think we're talking about 2 different kinds of calendars.
http://davesgarden.com/showthread/134163.html
I would love to see a printed calendar for 2002 though, think it could be done that fast??

Thanks tig,but that is what I had suggested on the other link; is having printed calanders made. That why I said, that this has already been asked. It was just an idea I had at the time was all. I guess great minds do work together if we both had the same idea.

Jerome, MI(Zone 5b)

Gee, guys I missed that....Sorry....I just thought about selling a printed calander....Dave must not have thought it wasn't a possible one....Or maybe he missed it....(I don't think so though)....Wantabe...

WhataB; we must be like 2 peas in a pod.heehee.
I'm sure that Dave is really busy with other things right now and just hasn't had the time to think about calanders at this time so that is why I didn't say anything more about it and he might have it on his to-do-list to do for another time. There's only one of him and several of us that he has to keep an eye on,and that is a job in itself. He has to have eyes behind his head to keep track of all the goings on,after all,we are like children at times.
Hey, look at it this way; idea couldn't be all bad if both of us thought of it, right?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

sorry CoCo, I'd forgotten you mentioned the printed ones. It is a great idea, some really good photos here.

Jerome, MI(Zone 5b)

Thanks CoCo, for not making me seem silly...I thought I read everything on the forums....hehehe ask my BH..He gets to playing games....and I say....Ok my turn...hehehe...Need more computors I guess.....one for every room....Well I just thought there are so many wonderful pictures on the photo forum....and I am sure there are a lot I have never seen....It would be easy to make a Calendar to help with expenses...I have no clue how much it cost, or how to go about it....If I knew folks on DG better, I could have asked if it had been posted before....Oh well,,,,,,,,thanks again for not making me feel silly...you are too kind...Wantabe.

I would definitely like a calendar. GREAT IDEA!!!!!!! vic

WantaB,I would never do that. I have had calanders made up before for my own personal use and as gifts. Have had Walgreens do it for me; you take in your favorite photoes and mark on the back on which month you would want that picture on and they would send them off and have them all printed up for you. The cost; $19.99 each. But I'm sure a publishing company will be able to do it for much less cause will be ordering more than what I have done. I have had a total of 3 calanders done so far in previous years. That would have to be something that would really need to be checked into and getting different prices from several companies that publishes calanders.

Cape May Court House, NJ(Zone 7a)

I will be Sultry September!!! hehehe!!!!!

Ah oh,we better be good or Santa won't bring us anymore hostas Sue,lol'' I'll be peeking around a big Snowman,in February, lol'

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8b)

While I think that the calendars are a wonderful idea, I just don't see any way possible to get them done by the first of the year :( Maybe next year?

Trish

Jerome, MI(Zone 5b)

Trish, When I posted this I didn't think it possible to have for this year....It was a thought....for coming years...Really a on going month by month thing....have to start thinking of it now....for next year..January contest.????...even have more than one kind of calendar...Kids, seems like the younger...child group wants one for them...and etc........etc...I know you both are really busy.....Maybe Dave could put on his "To Do List"....for when ever..Or maybe someone would take this on as a project...Not me though...I can't keep my Stamp trading straight...hehehe.....Thanks for looking though.
Wantabe.......!!!!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Or, what about a 16 month calendar for the first year? Have it start in March 2002 and go through December 2003?

Or a shorter one, a 10 month calendar, from 3/2002 to 12/2002?

Psst, I'm still for having some sort of online community calendar, complete with photos from our resident photographers. We could put info for upcoming events - plant swaps, horticulture events in our area, etc., plus birthdays, anniversaries, whatever on it. Anybody else think it would be a nice addition to DG?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Sounds good to me, Vols. Maybe have a traditional calendar format, and people could click on the date to bring up a list of events submitted by members? Like Real-life gatherings, deadlines for various submissions/round robins, birthdays, etc?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

that was my original request, something we could add our special days too, so that I can keep up with all you guys important days.

Allen Park, MI(Zone 6a)

How about the men of DG Calendar???
Horseshoe, Mike Piper, Dave and myself we need 8 other guys to pose.

Whay do you think???

Paul

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Is this going to be like the "Men of Maple Hill" calendar (or wherever)? The one they had on the Today Show last week? That was a hoot, but wowsers - we'd need 12 very self-confident males. Not to mention calendar purchasers with self-confident spouses!!!

Allen Park, MI(Zone 6a)

GV

The men of DG will put the men of Maple Hill to shame!! :)

Cape May Court House, NJ(Zone 7a)

Great idea!!! The pic of Dave can be the famous "LOVES LIE BLEEDING" photo!!!!!
sue

Muncie, IN(Zone 5B)

"down the Shore", NJ(Zone 7a)

paulgrow, I'm in! John (running off to the gym)

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Ruby42, that's my thinking exactly. Hey, we need to tell Georgiaredclay about this. And I nominate alhanks.

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

I make calendars and accidently got into the business. I probable won't be making as many this year as before.I will post a month picture and title it calendar. Similar that was mentioned at Walgreen and Eckarts. I must say much nicer and done with a lot more love. I have offered two Dave's gardeners a free calendar but they haven't answered as yet. I guess they have heard nothing in life is free. Alright Mollybee get the pecans ready. I don't think I would want to pose and I sure there wouldn't be any one wanting to buy. Now I will volunteer for the ladies calendar the printer that is.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

Ok Jim, ONLY if you agree to pose for it!! LOL and we ain't talkig that "younger" picture of you eaither!!! it has to be a up to date picture!! Deal???

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Alright Mo;lly bring the camera when we have our luncheon get together. I'll pose.

Hey,in that case, put me down for a calander. I like the more personal calenders. Don't think I'll get any made this year anymore, so going have to get some from our insurance company I guess.I use alot of calenders. I hae one in almost every room of the house and DH has one in his workshop I use 7 calenders now; 8 with the large one that I have on top of the computer desk for me to make notes on.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

LOL Jim, I will be there with my Zoom lens!

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Oh, I would love a dg men calendar!!!! I'll even replace my annual chippendale calendar with it. Wonderful idea!
