Love the star bloom but the Lav ;Blizzard is becoming one of my favorites for this season.
Your Lav Chiffon Blizzard is drop dead gorgeous

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

They are all beautiful, but I like that last one.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Debra, how cold did it get???

Gautier, MS

Thanks Debra, Jackie and Linda.

Hope you are enjoying your day off Debra and warmed up.

Blushing Bride the only new one today. The other day found a caterpillar munching on a bloom, this morning found some sort of beetle on a bloom.

beauty's again! It is warmer today. I have all the purps blooming, still waiting on our garden spots before the others really can get going. Sure do like the second and 4th bloom up there. There are going to be a lot of bugs this year, with all the rain we have had. Supposed to be back to normal June temps , so now we will all warm up.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Helena, yes please save me some of the BB sds. I like it so much better than the ones I grew.
I like all your blooms this morning, esp the Pink Speckled.
Looking forward to growing your lovely purpureas too.

A few from 2012
the last pic to show the pretty lvs I had on some of my mg;s in 2012
They did not come true from sd so apparently a virus of some kind

me too, Linda. All I have blooming right now is the shibori, purple lav purp, jaimie lynn, crimson rambler, blue, and pink purps all from volunteers. My milkweeds are blooming as is the Zebrina Holly Hock. All the fancy lillies are budded or blooming out front. The larkspur, red yarrow and white yarrow are all blooming and still have some dames rocket still blooming. Roses are done and trimmed for round two. We are getting peas and beans so far. I had a nice day outside today.

Nice blooms Debra!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

I know your yard is beautiful with all the lovelies you have blooming Debra.
Glad you had a warmer day today.

Gautier, MS

Love your blooms Debra. Love to see all the mgs you mentioned. My lilies are huge this year too. Yours is very colorful!

It rained hard yesterday morning and ruined the mg blooms. Plus I had to do errands.

I had to move all budded mgs on window sill and close to house to protect and maybe see what was going to bloom. But no new ones, I guess.

4th bloom is Kanoco....pink speckled, seems to have slightly larger bloom
DFNM

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Love all your blooms Helena, That pink is gorgeous as is your mutant, DFNM
Beautiful speckled Kanoko and deep blue

I see that darn virus is back on my pandy. Just sick of it.

Just wanted to tell everyone we've had those big insects that supposedly come out just once every 17 yrs or so. I call them dry flys, June bugs and all kinds of names. These are large with the green wings and they have red eyes. They are coming out of their exoskeleton or'whatever you call it. There must be thousands in my back yard and in the woods they are humming so loud that I think it would drive a person batty if they were outside all day, a constant loud humming. Sounds like millions of them in the woods.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Helena, your blooms are beautiful.

I don't like those bugs.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Debra, Jackie and Linda.

Jackie we have those bugs here too but I've never seen as many as you have in your yard. We had termites hatching all over a couple of weeks ago, that is scary. They were attracted to lights outside, had ours off.

This is going to be a rainy week for us. Hope to get some more nice blooms.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

We have a few of these bugs every yr but nothing like what we're seeing now, Just unbelievable.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I think your talking about the cicada?

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

yes, cicadas, locust, that sound is what I used to hear in summer, but now, I live with that sound 24 hours a day in my head ( dr said it was nt my ears, but head noise) so I feel ya , Jackie when listening to that, if it isn't bells of all kinds it is that frequency buzzing shrieking noise I hear all the time.

We used to catch those bugs as they were climbing out of ground, and bring them in and watch them hatch out, tie strings around their heads and let them fly LOL

missed the mgs this am. *sigh*

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

DH called them cicadas.

Gautier, MS

Well Debra, I have that buzzing sound in common with you too. It's a non stop thing that I learned to live with. I learned to tune things out too, starting when my kids were very young.

Jackie, look at this beautiful bloom I got from what I labeled as China Doll from you! It's a huge bloom! I love it, thanks.

Helena, those are all beautiful!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

O my gosh, yes all beautiful but that China Doll is awesome. Helena, I might have sent you'back one of the original sds you had shared with me,. Please save me sds of that one..
Did you hand pollinate the bloom?

Heres a pic of my pandy with varieg lvs.The virus is back for sure

Look at this huge moth. His wings were not open all the way and he was still like
4 inches across. The only one I've seen come close is the lovely Luna Moth.

Thumbnail by patootie Thumbnail by patootie Thumbnail by patootie
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What is the virus, and what can you do for it?

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda and Jackie.

I didn't get to hand pollinate China Doll so I will watch for it to make seeds. I will save you some seeds. It is a beauty!

Your pandy is making neat strange leaves Jackie. Hard to think it's a virus. I love your huge moth.

Norfolk, VA

Nice blooms everyone.
Helena I love your large-flowered varieties.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena
.Linda, I don't know what virus it is but its been giving me a rough time for 3 yrs now, All I know to'do is try neem and/or listerine sprayed on the lvs. Theres some stronger stuff I coould
order. The virus has destroyed my sd production for the last 3 yrs.

gorgeous as usual, Helena. Very neat moth, Jackie. I have no clue what to say about the virus on your pandy leaves.

isn't it strange how the purps change like that? Helena your BB is very soft looking. Still adoring the dark blue with the lighter edge.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Love your blooms Helena. The purps are just beautiful, can't wait to grow them.
The BB is very impressive
