I put a pot of purple tulips next to the lime green new growth of my Smoketree 'Golden Spirit' which in spring is acid lime green not golden. I kind of like the contrast, but it is very strong. The single pot of tulips is quite noticeable. Have any of you tried something similar? I had tried a rhody 'Nancy Evans' next to it but the warm sunsety yellow-orange-pink flowers looked dreadful there by the lime green leaves.
