My Fizzle Sizzle is starting to bloom too! Isn't it exciting! :-)
Happy to hear about the Medusa Head doing so well. Also happy to hear about the plants that you traded for. Some of my Buddleia is blooming a pink color, and some are a deep purple color. What colors did you get? The skipper butterflies have been visiting them in the BEES gardens.
Having problems with the Gulf Frittilaries laying eggs on my passiflora seedlings here at the house. They haven't gotten to the ones I planted out in the BEES gardens. I am sure that they will figure out where they are growing. They seem to be taking forever! Or, I just need to ignore them.
Hey Pegi, I put those signs up for when my kids have to water for me. Sometimes they actually read them. :-)
Good luck with them Epi's, I don't usually get to see them bloom. I am ignoring them to see if that is what they like.
Got to go.

Spring Round Up 2015
Hi everyone, I'm so sorry I missed this.
After my mom passed last September I decided to go back to school full time plus work. Last month I caught a cold that turned into pneumonia and I'm just getting back to normal.
I'm out of school for the summer and hope to get back to posting here more often.
I hope everyone is doing good.
Sylvia
Planting my "trade" Budleia's today. There are two dark purple, two lavender and two deep pinky red. Hoping these will take off and grow nice and big the first season. I'm going to have to make sure they get enough to drink. I've lost a few plants to this drought, just trying not to use more than they need.
I have a monarch or two floating around the garden, no more cats yet. But the milkweeds are finally leafing out and I'm getting new seedlings daily. I may just go out there and try seeding them in ground now that we're getting a little heat..
Sylvia, sounds like you've been busy, sorry you were so sick.
Glad to see you posting again Sylvia (Shorty). Glad to hear you are getting better and that you have jumped ahead in your life.
My epi has 3 nice size blooms on it and I can't wait for them to open. Got my camera ready when they do. My best looking plant is a Crown of Thorns which I've had for a long time. I kind of neglected it for a while then decided to put it in a bigger pot. It is doing so well now, has dark pink flowers. I really feel like playing with my plants now. I have one tomato plant I paid 99 cents for and it is doing well, have a small green tomato on it plus a lot of blossoms.
Temps have been so nice, but sure does get very cool in the evenings. I wish the rest of our year would stay this way.
Just had to hop in and ask about my Fizzle Sizzle. I must be doing something wrong as the tips of my curly stems have brown on them. My blooms didn't last too long, but suppose that might be normal. Maybe too much water??
Heat has gotten to me and water rationing is in full swing. We can only water 2 days a week, Wednesday and Saturday before 8 AM and after 6 PM People across the street water on Tuesday and Sunday. Don't know how this will work out as some people just don't seem to care when they water. Temps are just too hot for me so I don't get out too play in the dirt. My son has planted a zucchini plant in my front flower bed, hope I get a lot of fruit.
I have been watering my Fizzle Sizzle regularly with the rest of the succulents. I have mine in morning sun with shade during most of the day. It has been blooming for about 4 days and one of the blooms is looking spent. If you're worried about over-watering maybe you could lighten up the potting mix. A little perlite, vermiculite or even some old fish gravel can help with drainage. My leaves are looking fine so maybe you just need to get it out of sun a little more.
Thanks, Dee. My blooms dried up almost right away. I will try and repot it and I have perlite here. Just bought a very large bag of potting soil so I should get busy. I have a white plumeria blooming and my very first day lily opened, pretty pink. I just put some bulbs I found in an old flower pot and gave them new soil and pot. They seem very easy to take care of so maybe I should stick to them. I have a mother-in-law tongue that will have some blooms, all the years I've had it I never saw a stem grow out of it. I had divided a plant, maybe that is what it needed. Going to have to take a picture soon.
Good to hear that you are still with us Shorty. :-) I was missing you.
Samigal my Fizzle Sizzle is still blooming. I set it in the greenhouse, where it is warm and humid. I only water every couple of days.
Dee you will have to take photos of Butterfly Bushes so we can see the colors. I think that you can take and start cuttings from the bushes. I am not sure that the color will stay true. Some of mine started out being a lavender shade but now they look pink. Others that I bought at the same time are a deep purple color.
Sorry I haven't been in touch as I should. I have been busy, planting things in pots, and in the ground.
Dee, the rabbits really like the Hairy Balls Vine. They have left the Blue Butterfly Vine alone except for one nibble that they spit out. Both the red and purple Salvia are being left alone. They occasionally get nibbled on but grow back quickly. They are leaving the Milkweed alone too. They devoured the Cosmos, Mexican Hat cone flowers, among other things. I have been busy trying to keep up with the damage they do. Am grateful that I don't have to deal with deer too. Jack saw Quail out in the Butterfly Gardens. :-)
So much has been going on, and I know that this coming weekend will be hard for you Pegi. I would give you a hug if I could.
Shorty, I believe that your Birthday is on the 4th. May I be the first to wish you a very Happy Birthday! :-)
You all have a wonderful Holiday. I will have more time to stay in touch once I get the Pumpkin Patch planted next week. :-)
