1) My purple primroses are the first to bloom.
2) Primroses and NOID daffodils; on the right, there's a clump of yellow primroses that will open soon.
3) More daffodils. I like them up there on the hill; I wish I could plant more but it's difficult to dig under the tree.

SSG, if you want a tree, what about a Dogwood?
I think I have Fritillarias; I planted them so long ago I can't remember what they are. They don't smell good, but I don't get a whiff of them very often so I don't mind.

Our Mahonia was just loaded with buds but that last Arctic blast froze ever one of them. I'm hoping it didn't destroy the lilac buds again like last year. Those late blast destroy buds that have started swelling.

What kind of Mahonia do you have?
The leaves of my Mahonia aquifolium shrubs got scorched this winter, but the buds seem okay.

I have Mahonia bealei, and same here, the flowers were pretty wrecked and no mild mid winter days to enjoy the lovely sweet smell
