I am going to open the tub of dolls that Pauline collected, Paula told me to sell them. It is a huge tub, and I just finished cleaning and redoing the main part of the basement garden and don't feel like messing it up with stuff already .. LOL
She's about to... Fall is upon us!
What kind of dolls Debra? Post pictures here please?
Yes, I would love to see the dolls also. Im sure it will be hard to part with them. Going to see my granddaughter today spending the night. Really loking forward to it. Keri says she is doing so mjch more stuff. I have forgotten how fast babies grow up!! Love her so much.
Oh yes, babies do grow up too fast! I was watching a video of Lucy, who is 3 now, when she was a baby, and my daughter walked in and said" I can't watch that! It will make me cry." So enjoy that baby now! And take lots of pics and video (even if it will make you cry to watch it! lol) They change so fast, it is amazing.
Oh those baby memories..they grow up so very fast. We got a video camera when our third grand was born. Big heavy thing it was. Every month I taped 10-15 minutes of each of the grands. Finishing the tape on their 1st birthday. They loved their tapes asking to see the movie of baby them and now so do their kids.
Oh Karen, those are great memories for sure!
how fun, wish I had thought of doing something like that.
my grandson turned 21 today, and he, his mom, his baby sister, his grandpa Don are at a tavern, where his step dad works as a cook. It breaks my heart to not be with them, but didn't get an invite, and wouldn't have gone anyway, not with a baby, and certainly not with my ex husband along. *sigh*
I havn't seen them much since he moved back to town from Texas. ( My ex)
Joe and I are just taking it one day at a time here.
I have miles and miles of video on so many different formats. They need to be moved to dvd. Guess that will be one of my winter projects.... ;) My Dad had taken super 8 movies of us when we were little. Years ago I sit with a viewer trying to see what was on the movies and then having them moved to vhs. I got down to a movies and I could see my Dad (actually stepDad but he is my Dad) and Grandpa but didn't recognize anyone else but they were pretty young so I wasn't too surprised and my baby sister and never met her Grandpa so I put it in the movie. So when we got to the end where I had that portion I stopped it and asked Mom who those other people were......she paused and then started laughing, they were my Dads Xwifes family reunion....rofl....but I had some great shots of Dad and Grandpa....lol
LOL! Dad's X wives? That must have been a party?
Lol, I know a bunch like that. All the X wives hang out together! They come to the reunions and all the family functions. No thanks I think I will skip that. The only way I would go is if it is birthdays for my grandchildren. Or something to do with my daughter.
Our family does that for the sake of the kids involved, we try our best to be at least civil. For the most part we all still have a good time. Sometimes the ex's new in-laws get a bit weirded out but they get used to us. I've gained extra grands too.
I say go with whatever works for ya'. lol
I agree.
what ever works for everyone.
For sure.
Yes, my mom and natural dad get along really good. Wierd how the families can get so distorted. But it really is good to get along for the kids sake. I really do not talk to much to my "ex" but we do talk when we see each other. One of my daughters live with him. So I hear about him.
Please keep my daughter Amamda in your thoughts and prayers. She has two interviews that are in her field. Both full time what you call government jobs. She is so nervous and excited. We are too. But she is looking forward to them. She had jury duty also the same day. Next thursday. But she actually was able to be excused. Good thoughts and prayers going out to her.
My daughter also has a job interview for a Nursing position at a nearby hospital on the 16th. So I will be praying for both these daughters of ours ,to get the jobs that they really want. Keeping everyone in my prayers for a safe and Happy Holiday season. Christmas is almost upon us...how did that happen? Just a little while ago it was Summer...sheesh!
Sure hoping both those daughters land their jobs.
Sending prayers to all in need!
Thank you Karen, and Linda!
I had never met my Dads Xwife so I had no idea that is who was in the old film. Would of kept it anyway since there were so many good shots of my Dad and Grandpa.
When my Dad past away his xwife called my Mom and asked if it was ok to come to the services, and my Mom had no problem with it at all.
Sure works out better for the kids if everyone can at least be in the same room together. But there are problems I know that doesn't make that possible.
Wow hoping for all the kids to get the job of their dreams!! I am soooo glad to be retired! So glad someone got my job. LOL
Been sewing up a storm for DGD's American Girl doll. I have enjoyed it, but tomorrow is gonna be busy cause I am making too much stuff and don't have anything complete yet. All started nothing done. If I don't get it done I am going to be shopping like a crazy person.
Boy I know the feeling, we are on our third weekend trip downstate in a row.really feeling the pressure now plus 4 birthdays this month. Having this bad cold isn't helping the situation any either. Sewing all day when I'm all stuffy and sneezy just isn't cutting it. Had to get a b'day gift done and mailed to TN....made that one. Every thing else I have a couple extra days as our family Christmas will be on Sat. following. Thinking I'm gonna need every minute of it.
Oh man just realized I have no place at all to stash wrapped gifts, we now have a two year old in the house. Yikes!
rofl...it gets harder and harder to hide those presents as they get older. Had a friend who kept hers in the trunk of her car. Course she figured as they got older she could put them in the dishwasher cause no one ever used it...rofl
When my kids were small, we had a camper and I could lock all the wrapped gifts in there and they were none the wiser. When they got older and I had kids-in-law, they were so nosey, I had to just put numbers on the to-froms and kept the master list on my person at all times. Other wise they would be shaking theirs to try and guess.
LOL u guys..
I told my 3 year old grand daughter that I needed to get home cause I had stuff to do. She asked "What do you have to do, Nanny?" I started down the list of chores and when I got "Wrap Presents" Her face lit up and she said "Presents for me!?!" lol So I will have to hide them before she comes back.
Lol, my stepson was horrible about shaking and carrying on with packages with he was smaller and would work and work until he figured it out. So one year I put my nephews name on his boxes and his name on my nephews...it was so much fun!
Speaking of fun, I have a friend who LOVES tie dye but won't buy it because it seems to be expensive so I decided to start tie dyeing and I had so much FUN..... Now the colors are darker than my camera is showing but I am sure after a few washing they will look like this. I like the paler colors.
The second pic I hope my Great Niece doesn't think the stripe makes her diaper look fat...lol
Couple of the little girl shirts had sequins on them so they will sparkle besides. I really had so much fun! and wasn't that messy.
Love the tie-dye, they're all gonna be so cute.
When my niece married in Orlando several years ago, most of the family went. As we were going to have an extra day about 20 of us decided to go to Disney. My daughter & I made t shirts for everyone. She tie-dyed them and I put on an iron-on Disney character. We had a great time with them, got called the tie dye gang. It was easy to keep track of our group too.
Oh Joyce, those are awesome! How did you make the heart?
Great job on the tie dye shirts! We did them during the Summer outside, years ago, and had a blast. Cut stars out of wood and C clamped them together to make the star pattern. They turned out really cool. Red ,white and Blue, very patriotic. lol You can also use two long skinny blocks to make Starburst effect.
The heart is easier on a bigger shirt than the small one. I watched youtube.com from 2 little girls...lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoCJ_mrkqSA follow their directions that are really good at it and describing it. Me not so much.
Sounds like you guys had as much fun as I did making them, I had no idea it would be so much fun. Sounds like a great idea for a family reunion. The biggest problem was finding white shirts, it was horrible! Still haven't found white sweatshirts.
Back in the day ,Walmart had a whole section of shirts for crafting, but no more. You might try one of the large Craft stores. Or you might be able to order them online. I used men's and boy's Tshirts, cause they are cheaper in 3 packs usually, that is if you can get by with using 3 of one size. Are you looking for kid's or adult size sweat shirts? And sometimes the outlet stores have them cheaper. I found a bunch of kid's white Tshirts at the Dollar Tree a while back.
Joann's might have the white sweatshirts, pretty sure they have the t-shirts. I usually just go buy white under shirts. For kids they are fine, the men's might be a bit long.
Walmart here had white sweatshirts a few days ago. katie
Thanks for the ideas guys. JoAnns had a bunch on sale but they were so picked over I couldnt find the right sizes. Haven't been to wally world, think I will go there today. Waiting for it to warm up we are having a tiny bit of freezing rain, but suppose to warm up by 11.
Talking to my daughter who had the interviews today. She says they went pretty good. Hard to tell. You know how it goes. She had to drive an hour north to the first one. Then two hours west to the next one. Poor girl. I am so hopeful she gets one of them.
I hope so too. Quite a ways to drive.
Good luck with the job interviews. My daughters interviews are next week, but she has final exams this week and we are all a nervous wreck . She won't know for sure, whether she graduates until Friday afternoon. Graduation is on Saturday morning...so it is going to be a long week.
Wow what stress the poor kids r in right now! Best of luck to them both.
Thanks Joyce. Everyone have a good day!
She says they went okay. Sure hope they offer her something. She said some of the peeps were pretty snooty. We know how that is. Long day for her lots of driving. Trying to find stuff to do in between too.
