Morning Glories 2014 #14
Deb, I knew it surely had to be getting very cold there.
I hope you can carry your mgs that are blooming so pretty to the basement to continue the blooms and gather sds.
Down to 48 for us tonight.
Deb,very unusual for my yellow day lily to be blooming this late in the yr, Triggered by';the unusual cool nite time temps. They thought it was Spring time again. :-)
My blue tri-lobed speckled had 3 blooms open, 1st 2 pics, maybe the last of its blooms.
Heavenly blue

Beautiful blooms Jackie, Love your heavenly blue blooms. That is one of the hardest mgs for me to grow. I love your tri-lobed speckled too.
Beautiful blooms too Debra. Love those purpurea. Glad you put your hummer feeder back out. They are still on migrating south. I keep mine out all winter, changing the syrup when it needs it. I've been lucky to get hummer visits from time to time but it's like a hit and miss, not every year.
It's supposed to go down to 48 here too Jackie, that is cold for us. I been getting my salvias and tender tropical into my greenhouse. Some of my mgs too. I was too busy yesterday to even check what was blooming yesterday. Today only the lite blue purpurea was blooming.
Thanks Helena, I haven;t watered my mgs for 2 days. Going to take care of that right now b4 it gets dark. I wanted to pollinate the tri lobed with the pretty color block but didn't get to yesterday.
I need to go close up my g house. Wont be quite as cold tonight but still about 50
A wonder I even got HBlue to bloom. No sun touched it so took forever.
Ladies, I love al the blooms the past few days. I have been in San Antonio for Dr. appointments. Dr. Told me my sore shoulder is the beginning of frozen shoulder, and I need to move it, before it freezes permanently.
Move it how? U mean surgery?
oh dear.. sounds painful, I am sorry, LK.
Jackie, I had about 8 blooms, then they stopped. ( the heavenly blue)
I think the speckled tri lobe is very unique.
Thanks, Helena. I hope to see some more blooms from your vines this winter.
Son and Hubby got the big stuffs in, the special pots of vines were all pouting, and I even had sheets on them. Then the big stems got tore, and well I have long stems of seed pods in the fish tank filter now, hope that nourishes them so they can keep going, . the original pot is now trimmed back, so here is hoping. Flying saucers is loaded with buds, hope they hang in there .

Like exercises, and swimming. He told me there is no surgery for frozen shoulder. So I need to find a pool I can do laps in.
So sorry about your shoulder Linda K. Hope you can find a safe place to do your laps.
Hope my HB blooms right up to frost Debra. If I grow one next yr, I'll stick it out in the sun.
The only place I know of that has a public pool is the base, so I will go out there and do laps a few times a week.
Hope too that you can do your laps for your shoulder Linda.
We slept without heat but I did turn it on for a bit in the morning just to get the chill out of the air. The plants made it without any problems outside. I still have a bit to get into the gh. I guess I didn't think I had as many plants as I thought I did. Only mg to bloom was the lite blue and the other dark purpurea so no pics today.
Those are beautiful blooms, but you can keep the spider.
All my blooms were tiny this morning except for the HB.
Pretty blooms Helena. I love the dark purp. Nice Salvia too
I love your large spider. Pretty sure its a writing spider, just like the ones I have in my windows
with speckled legs. DH moves them out of our pathway all the time.

love all the uniqueness of blooms when they are cold, Jackie and Hlenea. Love the writing spider too. No heater on last night, but I sure was bundled up in jammies ;)
Debra, Not cold enough here yet for heavy weight jammies. I'm so hot natured, when it gets above 65 in the house in the winter, it almost blows me out of here. I have to go stand in front of a fan, lol.
In spite of the brief cool down, ( it was up to 85 today) I am still getting some blooms. Just a few things still outside to come inside, small enough jobs to do myself, but it is almost dark when I get home now, and pretty dark in the am when I take pictures..my flying saucers is really budded out, hope they set a few seeds ( all four that have bloomed)
I love Flying Saucers. I've not had any luck growing that one lately. Looking forward
to your pics Debra.
Thanks ladies. I moved the spider, I was afraid he was setting a web for the hummers.
I have not had any luck growing Flying Saucers either this year and only got one seed from Flying Star for my next try.
Love your pretty blooms Jackie. Been warming up here, feels just right.
Don't know why but my pictures from today have not downloaded yet.
Thanks Helena I couldn't get on line with my high speed provider so using my backup dial up.
This will take forever plus I don't know whats wrong with my high speed connection.
