Morning Glories 2014 #13

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda and Helena.
It would be great to plant a few mgs where you don;t have to worry about the mowers Helena,
Your neighbors might even like them planted around their mail boxes to enjoy.
Maybe a public place like your local library would let you plant a few.
Nichole, your mom could maybe take pics when they bloom and send the pics to you by email or phone so you could enjoy the blooms with her.
5 yr old seed should be fine. I sprout them older than that.

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Now, when I said my mother moved here, I mean in the same apartment complex. I can walk over there in 2 minutes! So, I'd be able to see all stages.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Well thats even better. :-)

Will be nice for you to enjoy growing mgs again Nicole. I do have seeds that I'm not going to grow again. So I can spread those around a few places in late fall or winter if I remember.

Getting a bit of showers which is very good.

Jackie, I love your beautiful lite blue bloom. Can't tell you how many seedlings I also left in the small cups to where I lost quite a few. That happens when I start too many at one time.

Thanks Linda and Jackie. I knew that my tempest was different from when I grew it before but I don't think it was supposed to be all solid. Mine was darker but had stripes, I think.

Beautiful blooms Jackie. I do favor your speckled and Blue LYK but all are very nice.

(Caitlin) Fresno, CA(Zone 9b)

Love the speckles, Pootie! =)

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena and Wifeygirl. Helena, its been so long since I saw the 1st pic of Tempest,
I can't remember what the original looked like or who shared seeds with me.
I wish the speckled types would make more seeds.
Cool here tonight, lows in the 50's.

Gautier, MS

Jackie, I'm pretty sure I shared tempest seeds with you. I think also there was 2 different kind of blooms. But it's possible that mine crossed too, the fun of growing mgs.
Wish our temps was lower, 60 or 70 would be nice, 50 seems a bit low.

These bloomed this morning.

Yep, I think it's prettier bloom! It has blizzard on it.

Gautier, MS

This is my Tempest from 2012, I can hardly believe this is correct.

I'd like to grow out a few that I had then.

I love all your beautiful blooms. Really neat Saz, all are pretty nice.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena, I had some tiny 1 inch blooms today from the cool temps.
DH is working on my greenhouse today. I have rotten beams he's replacing
and replacing the plastic liner inside and the plastic covering outside too.
This is the 2nd Sept that I've had to return plants to the greenhouse early. Used to be
Oct b4 I had to worry about greenhousing for the winter,

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful blooms ladies!

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda.

Jackie, I'm glad to hear that you DH is working on your greenhouse. This weather has been crazy from different parts of the country. It's still been too hot here, but I'm kind of looking forward to just a bit cooler weather. It would feel a lot better to get my gh cleaned and just be able to work outside without sweating to death.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda,
Helena, DH had not worked on the g house lately and it showed. Thank goodness'for DGS
who is a lot of help to me.He's done all my work down there of cleaning, pulling weeds, etc and he makes money and the work gets done, Works out well for both of us.
Hope you get a break from the hot temps soon.

Thanks Jackie.

Considering how cold weather affects the blooms,Jackie your blooms still look pretty nice. I hope you still get some good warm weather. It's way too early for cold weather in September!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

wow I have missed a lot. So glad you all posted such wonderful shots and blooms.
LK... I am going to send you some vines that will bloom for you, leave them in their pots.. sink them into bigger pots and feed. I wish I had pics to show you all, but all I have are purps and orange noah and cardinal vine right now, and sad to see so many worm holes in my tower of power seed pods.oh I still have pandy blooms and a few seed pods, hope they are viable.. will check the big tub and arch this weekend to see if I have any seeds in those pods.
Been a weird year for me/ niece is here surprise visit, and haven't seen her since my sister died.
The purps are staying open late now and turning colors.. looks loverly I think..

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Good news for me! About 2 years ago, someone sent me a Dmail about my tie-dye mg seeds they had received - I had sent in some packets for the new members . . . anyway, I had messaged her back, and she has some seeds from the plants she collected! Yay! So, even if I can't find my original seeds, at least I'll have some direct descendant seeds!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

Beautiful blooms everyone!

Debra, do I keep them inside for the winter, will they survive?

Nichole, I am glad to hear you are getting some of your seeds back!

Gautier, MS

Visited a nursery this morning before going to do my shopping. Found 3 mgs they had, the tree that I can't remember the name, wish mine was blooming like theirs was. Sweet potato vine blooming too. The third was variegated or neat leaves but no flowers, I was tempted but didn't buy anything.

My indica mg with only one bloom, I think it's getting too much shade and bugs have done a number on the leaves.
