All the < and the >, and the occasional / in between have to do with the symbols used to make italics, underlines, bolds, and strikethroughs.
Something is fouled up with IT - the symbols shouldn't show, and the intent should. It is just reversed at the moment.
Bold!
Underline!
Italics!
Strikethrough!
If it isn't corrected, you'll see the symbols. When it's corrected, you'll only see the intended result.
Weather Late Summer
Thanks! seems OK now
Boy a great weather weekend coming up for MidAtlantic; how about KY? We're taking the kayak out probably for the last time this year.
I always wanted to know how to do a strikethrough??? I tries "-" and "_"
but they are not in the middle of the writing. Tell me--please.
Comes in handy when my list of "haves" becomes "no more haves"...
Gita
You know how to bold. Use an s instead of a b
That's it?????????????? HUH?
Thanks--g.
ha ha its so hard to demonstrate the things that hide themselves. I had an empty post.

I GOT IT--HONESTLY---I GOT IT!!!!
G. ♥
hahahaha you sure do
Sally is such a screwup shining star in the MAF galaxy...
Sally is the ONE person here I can really dump on and she understands.
I can ask her an opinion--and she gives it... honestly--which i appreciate.
YES! She is a "Shining personality" here---a star wayyy up high there....;o]
And--YES! that is why I consider her my special DG Friend.
Gita ♥♥♥
Buenas Noches, Ami..
Strikethroughs sure do come in handy, as demonstrated! GRRR Hahaha
Don't worry Gita, It's just teasing.
That's some decidedly cool air coming in the door tonight! And all our windows are shut. Boo hiss!
Yuk, fall, I hate everything about it. I brought in the coumadin orange tree I've had on the patio all summer because it might go below 40 tonight.
I don't know how to underline, bold, make italics, etc. How do you do that?
It's a bit tricky to explain because the symbols used want to disappear when you try to demonstrate.

Wanted to pick the last tomatoes before a chill like this but didn't. I did bring my orchids into the laundry room.
Is it about time to dig up the Caladium bulbs now? I see my temp outside right now is about 48 degrees, but I'm sure it got colder last night. Should I get out there and cut 'em back today, or should I still wait a bit?
Yesterday at work it was chilly enough to wear jeans, finally! And I'm now officially out of sandal time and into my pseudo-boots for work. Yep, Fall is truly here! Gosh, I think I'll have to break out the scarves tomorrow too, woke up this morning with a sore stiff neck! =/
Whoa, it was 33 at Dulles this morning!
I'm glad I'm in my warm pocket over here. :)
Well the weather is just fine down here in OBX. Great weather for the wedding, the gale force wind died down the day before the wedding leaving just a nice breeze. Plenty of sun, pretty warm temps. Today the temps dropped some need a lite jacket or sweatshirt to be comfortable.
WooHoo looks like I might have some decent internet service this week.
I hear the temps at home are pretty cold, many of my plants were let outside until we get back home next week.
Thanks Sally!
Holly, I'm glad to hear you had great weather! It sounds like a great place to be right now.
I am so not ready for cold weather! In addition to the plants not yet planted, there's the fish pond plant problem. I need to order some fake plants for it because the water Hyacinths and water lettuce are dying from the cold, and the fish still need cover from predators (or at least they think they do). And I've got to put the net-covered tent over it to keep the leaves out....and order a new pond de-icer because they only last a year at most....and get a thermometer so I know when to stop feeding them....
If anyone ever thinks about putting fish in a garden-size pond, please give me a chance to talk you out of it!
be sure to check the forum for a special birthday thread...
AAAAGGGGGHHHHHH
Guess who is working all or part of the next four sunny days?
me.
And guess who has a four day weekend coming up full of rain predicted. All four days.
Me.
I will try to console myself that I hadn't thought of any good plans to go anywhere the coming weekend, anyway. I guess I would be unhappy if it turned out unseasonably warm and we missed a chance to go to the beach one last time, even just to walk in the sand.
Phew. I'll now return this to the usual Sunny Sally.
Just got up (an hour ago) and am sitting here freezing! The house is so cold!
Just plugged in a heater to help me out while I sit here....
Put the down comforter on my bed..Do not want to turn on the heat...yet.
Two days ago--I covered many of my plants with old sheets. Put a bunch of them
in my shed and a couple in my house. Bunched up the rest under tables ans next to
some shrubbery. Everything is still that way--as I did not get home from work
last night until after dark. Will have to do a lot of "recovery work" today.
OR--just start bringing things in. NOT ready for that either!!!
Hate this time of year...It is an exercise in saying "God Bye" to many things
in my garden, even though when all he beds are clean and raked, it feels so good.
Gita
Lol....poor Sally! We who have full time jobs are feeling so bad for you!....(snicker, snicker) ;-P
haha Seq! (arm punch) I know, I know....thanks for the chuckle
LOL~!
Channel positive thoughts, Sally: a 50% chance of rain means there's a 50% chance it won't rain!
we use Intellicast. I like the new graphic display of forecast they have here
http://www.intellicast.com/Local/Weather.aspx?location=USMD0271
Easy to see different factors in relation to one another.
I'm a big fan of www.wunderground.com
You can see all the different weather stations in the area, both personal and professional. Also, I like to use the almanac and you can go back to a certain month and day and see the weather.
Pleasantly mild this morning. Got a dozen pansies planted, repotted a Begonia that needs to come in. Leaves are starting to fall and need raking. I have to work PM shift so I'm taking advantage of the nice morning.
Spent the day running my parents around. Wasn't very nice when I left this morning but it sure is nice out there now.
I hear we've got a big storm coming. Wunderground says there's a 99% chance of rain tomorrow.
Yes - it just spent the last two days depositing 99% of 2" of rain here. Mostly it was overnight on the Valley, so not severe. Other areas got the midsummer severe thunderstorm and tornadic activity.
Batten down your hatches...
I'm so excited for the rain! Anything we get would be great. The soil is so dry here.
Seq, you must have missed all the passing showers we've had here.
I planted a few late-season purchases yesterday but I couldn't dig in the shade garden. Both the containers and the soil were sopping wet from the recent showers.
I finally over-seeded the patchy front "lawn." I hope the seeds aren't washed out by the torrential rains we're supposed to get today.
We got quite a lot of rain in the 2 weeks we were gone. Couldn't believe the growth on the neighbors new grass and our neighbor said she didn't have to water outside at all. Things here were terribly dry before we left.
Yeah we have been getting some rain over the last couple weeks but only 0.25" at a time and that isn't enough to wet beneath trees or really deep into the soil. I was outside planting things this weekend and things were still dry despite the recent showers. So far today though, we're sitting at 1.4" or so and more to come.
I worked from 8AM-1: 30PM today.
Just around noon--the skies parted and unloaded a downpour on us.
Man! Buckets came down--and then--just like that--it stopped.
This pattern repeated 4 more times--Downpour...and calm----downpour...and calm.
By the time I went home the sun was trying to come out.
As I write this (2:30PM) it is very heavily humid outside--and there is another
blue/gray doomsday sky showing from the West. looks nasty!I'll give it 10 minutes...
I know we needed rain--but to have buckets and buckets coming down at the
same time does not do much good.
G.
3:47PM---The nasty cloud passed over---we just had another downpour.
It was only 8 minutes from my post above....G.
Apparently there was a tornado somewhere between DC and Baltimore, right around I95. I'm glad all I'm getting now is rain!
Oh, that explains the warnings for northern AA Co. Our house seems to be squeezing between two nasty bands = just rain here.
