Plant It and They Will Come 4 Monarch Pollinator Life Cycles

Wow, and that's all because they mow the grass? It's amazing what we do in the name of 'safety'.

Coleup, Wanted to tell you that Jen's children just loved the Butterfly chrysalis and had great time watching them hatch and turning them loose. Lucas (5) took them too school for show and tell and one of them came out and was able to be released by the class room at the school which has a butterfly garden and a good bit of wild native space. Thanks so much.

Holly, I'm thrilled to hear about the Show and Tell! It really is for our Grandchildren and children to have Monarchs in their lives (just as we had growing up) that I am pleased to do my part and spread the word and get others involved and more milkweed and other host and nectar plants planted.

Let's continue our discussions over here:

Welcome to the Mid Atlantic Monarch Migrators!

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

There was a Monarch hanging around my Tropical Butterfly Weed today.
Not that this is the first time--but I grabbed mu camera and put it on macro
and stood there--only a couple feet away and waited...

It came and went...and came again. Took a lot of shots trying to catch it with
wings fully open. But--as it fed--the wings remained closed.
Got a couple half way open-as it was about to take off. And then--finally--
a fully open, wings spread Monarch. Can't see the blooms--it is covering them.
I was, literally, inches away. Glad she did not mind too much.

YEAH!!! A great way to start my October Folder. Gita
