I posted 3 messages about problems in the Journals forum. I'll repost here.
Another problem I just noticed yesterday, but not previously. When I add a new item within a category, the category ends up being blank. Luckily I noticed this right away as it was difficult to locate the item after saving it. After adding the new item, I now have to select "Move to another category" for it to appear properly. Example:
Journal: Viewing entry: test new entry
Common name: test new entry (377598)
Journal: Sallie's Garden 2014
Category:
Status: Info

At this point, hold off on any serious Journal work. I know there's a list of issues that the team is addressing, but I'll add this to them to make sure it isn't overlooked.
They may ask you to test a couple of things for us as we go if that is all right.
Certainly- anything I can help with, I'd be more than happy to. I'm retired now :-)
Luckily, I'm pretty much caught up on my journal entries. For the first time, I've tried to upload photos for each item to document their progress. I can create a new journal to test things in.
ok, hang tight. I don't know if they will need anything or not, but it is always good to have someone ready.
Update to my original post:
I just noticed this morning that if I look up a plant in PlantFiles, then add to my journal from that page, the category is fine.
My original post referred to going to a specific category in my journal, then manually adding an entry. When I do that, the category field ends up being blank and I have to remember to "move to a new category" in order for it to end up in the correct category.
Thank you, melody, for your concern & help. I know others are having problems and getting frustrated, but I'm still recommending Dave's Garden to all my friends as I'm sure the bugs will be worked out soon!
Good to know that the PF link is working. I'll let them know that the manual option is the problem.
YES!!! It too is fixed. I guess I should have waited instead of entering a boatload of items this AM and having to move each one manually. I just added a new item and it ended up in the correct category. Thanks again!
No problem.
We're still tracking down bugs, and getting them on the list, so don't hesitate to let us know if you see anything that appears broken. We can't take it for granted that it is on the fix list until we actually go look. So, we're all ears (or eyes, as the case may be) right now.
I'll let you know if I find anything else, but everything I've noticed and reported is fixed. I just checked- even the "External View" only showing one of 2 or 3 images is fixed.
