Morning Glories 2014 #07

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Debra. Looking forward to bloom pics from you and Ronnie.

Beautiful blooms Helena as usual. Your speckled blooms have been really special this yr.
# 3 is a beauty and I can finally see the lovely pale pink throat on # 4

My Hatsu arashi opened a bloom today and another of Debs lovely pink. Her pink looks
like it originated out of no Mai
This is the bloom that her pink bloom came out of, looking like PPV
Last pic my elusive dark Blue Tie Dye. It came out of a pack from Parks that made
more Purple Tie Dye's than blues. So dis-organized, I can't even find the pkt. SMH

Oh my! All those blooms are beautiful!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda K.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda and Jackie.

Love your gorgeous blooms Jackie. Really enjoying seeing them.

I will have a few blooms from my newest vines, some don't have tags so most likely will be from what I grew before.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

tags? LOL oh brother, mine blew off the day we had 60mph here. *sigh*
Good thing I wrote down what I planted where..
Gorgeous blooms from you this year Helena.. I love love love that PERFECT bloom in number 2.

Jackie, I am so happy to see you post blooms from my seed. I am glad they do something for you, and so pleased to see that Hatsu arashi, as it is one of my favorites, being so pretty and blue.
My i. carneas are all budded out now..

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena and Debra.
Heres the red banana you sent me Debra, getting large now.

Thanks Debra, I usually write a mystery ? bloom on a tag until it blooms. I dought (?Spl) my tags would be in place with 60mph winds too.

Jackie, I love those pretty banana leaves. I have 2 banana plants that are still hanging in there needing more water and transplanting. I have a few neighbors that actually get the bananas on their plants.

These are my new blooms. Think first one is Saz even though I wrote Tsukyono on tag. 2nd will probably be all purple or blue with the white and last is repeat Fuji.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I agree Debra! Those are so pretty!

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda and Debra.

I should have posted Jackies Lav. Saz which has such large blooms that I love. And repeats as usual.

Got to transplant some of my my newer healthy seedlings into bigger pots. Could only stand to do a few in this humidity.

I love the Blue Saz in your 1st pic Helena and the beautiful Lav Saz, 1st pic in the 2nd set.
Beautiful speckles.

Debs lovely pink made a bloom very similar to PPV= Plum Purple Velvet, just lighter .
My PPV has never made plum or purple blooms, has always bloomed pink.

Wow great blooms Jackie and Helena!
Helena the dark purple specked one in the first set is really special!

Hey Joy! Glad you found us. Love that Hige morning glory!

Love all your blooms ladies!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

That is beautiufl Joy, and welcome to the Morning glory group! Are ya hooked yet?

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie and Ronnie. I was pretty pleased with all my blooms today. Thought the star in Fiji was neat too Ronnie.

Pretty pink bloom Jackie. I'm changing the names on some of mine Jackie according color of the bloom. I think it's ok for us to be able to do that. One of my mauve splash turned out to be pink, no mauve so now it will be "pink splash".

Pretty bloom Joy.

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

Thanks, I love the doubles. Since these are heirlooms it is a win win for me. A friend told me to plant a dark purple with it and next year I will have purple ruffled MGs. Sounds intriguing.
I am tickled with this one and yes I am hooked. These are all such pretty colors.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Nice bloom Joy.
Helena, I think its fine to call your splash by its correct bloom color. Pink Splash etc.

Gautier, MS

Only a few blooms today, last one has defects but I like it cause it's dark.

That is very pretty, love the stripes in it!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

where's the defect? it is perfect, and yummy looking. Golly, Jackie that is a pretty bloom, I think I am jealous, All the mgs i have blooming right now is still the pandy and the purps. ;)
( Not really complaining)

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Deb, no defect. This is the bloom I wanted with the solid bright pink areas instead of just stripes. This is the bloom that
I loved last yr. :-)

Edited to say look at the variegation on these lvs, really pretty. I don't remember there being this much
variegation last yr.

Thanks all. Jackie, the slight defect is on my last dark blue bloom. Guess I was just being a bit picky, not seeing it being perfect.

I like your bloom too Jackie. It does resemble the pretty ones you had last year. After starting all my seedlings I think most of mine are from ones I already grew before. I still enjoy seeing the blooms each day.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Jackie, I was referring to the defect in Helena's bloom, All I see is perfection on both of your blooms tonight. I am thrilled my seed is doing something for you.

I am also thrilled that my tri blocked 4 o clocks came up ..Yippee! I will be able to take pics of things tommorrow,, can't wait for daylight and the sounds of birds chirping instead of the sounds of bombs bursting in air.. *sigh*

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh, I forgot you thought your dark blue had a defect Helena. but it's perfect just the way it is,
Most of all my blooms will be the same ones I grew last yr with maybe a few exceptions. Like'
you, I like to grow the ones that make up my favorites.
Debra ,looking forward to your 4 oclock blooms, one of my favorites.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Gautier, MS

Happy 4th of July everyone too! Cookout and watching Futbol (soccer) games for me!

These bloomed today. The first is really surprise velvety purple blue color, huge bloom.
The rest are just repeats.

Helena, that 1st one is almost as dark as BMN, very pretty.
Great color on that last bloom.

Hatsu arashi open today
ditch lilies

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie, that first bloom starts out purple than turns more blue. Kind of reminds me of Star of india except for the size but I'm waiting to see what it still does.

Love your pretty bloom and lilies.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

love love that 1st bloom, Helena, it does remind me of star of India too, but it is so big..
Lovely blue Hatsu arashi, Jackie. I just have a few purps as usual, but Joanna did get a really good shot with her camera of a few of my flowers..I have lots of cool leaves on my vines..

Love all the blooms posted today! Very pretty!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Pretty blooms Debra and I love the variegated lvs on your MG.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Debra and Linda. I do think that first bloom crossed with another bloom. I can see lighter specks on bloom plus it being huge.

Love all your flower blooms Debra and that leave on your mg is very nice.

First pic is of my mg madness seedlings still going.

Helena, # 4 is beautiful. Is it Watercolor?? The speckled is gorgeous.
I only have about 30 new mg's to pot up. Can't believe how many you've got going this yr.

Deb's pretty pink should have opened both of these blooms this am but couldn't for some reason. I watered last evening so I know the vine itself was'nt too dry. Both blooms had the'different pattern going on. You can tell that much,
Blue blizzard opened her 2 blooms and they were both different too,.This is what makes growing Morning Glories so much fun. Never know what to expect.

Both of you have beautiful blooms. Hope they open for you Jackie.

Gautier, MS

Beautiful blooms Jackie. I really like your blue ones and I can tell that the pink ones had different patterns.

My #4 looks like it's blue silk. I haven't started any watercolor seeds yet. If I do, it will have to be soon so I can get seeds from it. You are right about the fun in no knowing exactly what to expect from the blooms.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda and Helena. Got to love the surprises and open pollinated. :-)
