I love the Love in a Mist also (thank you again, Joyanna!!!)... I have decided that I will harvest seeds from them every year now, and they will, from now on, be a staple in my Big Bed. The blooms were mostly pink when they started blooming, but I'm really loving the blue more.
The Catmint... when I got them, they were in 4" pots and about 1 1/2 feet tall.. all scraggly and leggy and out of control. So, when I installed them I gave them a good root pruning and a serious haircut ('til they were about 6-8" tall), and I guess they're happy about it. I even saved a few of the cuttings and stuck those into the soil next to their respective rooted plants (what the heck, worth a try, right?). I think one clump made it, but one surely did not. I'll get pics today, I promise!
FIRST FLOWERS OF SUMMER!!! Yay it's finally here!!!
Look forward to seeing the pics, Speedie! :-)
That Love in a Mist is gorgeous. It has been on my wish list for ages and yours looks so healthy and lush.
the blue shades look lovely... and * misty *
we actually need mist and water here. hard to believe with all the storms, although the rains were all around us, we didn't seem to get much. Ugggh, I hate the thought of having to water again... the weather couldn't be nicer though. sunny and just beautiful. Hope everyone is having a nice holiday weekend!
We took the Riverline train to the Camden waterfront (Wiggins Park) yesterday and it was quite nice. Took a peak in the back of the Camden's Children's Garden while we were there too. It is located right next to the aquarium, which is huge!! Despite all the negative press Camden gets, this part of Camden is maintained really nice. Great view of Philly and the Ben Franklin Bridge too.
Here are a few bloom pics taken yesterday. I hope to snap a few more later
1) Asiatic lily 'Landini'
2) daylily 'Apricot Beauty'
3) Korean bellflowers
4) Hemerocallis 'Bela Lugosi'
5) patch of monarda at the veggie garden gate
Wind those are beautiful! Love the lilies.
I love that 'Love in the Mist' you've got there Speedie, very pretty! Is that a perennial or annual?
My 'Walker's Low' Catmint has been a non stop bloomer since I planted it this spring. I haven't done a thing to it and it keeps flushing from the bottom. Definitely a top quality plant.
Nice blooms Wind! I like that dark lily :)
Edited to add: Beautiful glads Holly, very nice :)
