Supposedly egg shells can take a while to decompose and make the calcium available to the plant. But it wouldn't hurt to start adding them now, even pulsing them in a coffee grinder first, to speed up the break down process. I add Epsom salts when fertilizing to help with calcium uptake. And most eggshells end up in the compost heap, but I may start crushing them and adding the "dust" to my heavy feeders like tomatoes and roses.
Requests for future RU's
Until I couldn't stand the heat anymore this morning, thought I'd begin a preliminary count of pots.
Totally at random, I counted the ones that are 2.5 qt. pots. To date, I have 38 of them.
And I know I have 80+ 3 gallon pots. And have between 100 and 200 of the 4" pots. Will continue counting as mood strikes me.
I do have some of the seed started trays. Maybe 10 but will count later. If anyone in the general DFW area has immediate need for seed starting trays, or the 4 inch pots, send me a D-Mail. We can see if we can meet halfway somewhere. (I imagine some of y'all are prob. planting now for fall garden sales.) Rest of you don't worry. There still will be plenty to go around at the RU.
Aug. 11th Update:
I was surprised to find that I only have 8 flat flats. It's prob. b/c I'm always looking for the other kinds.
I have 19 of what I've been calling the non-flat flats. Actually saw their real name somewhere but didn't write it down and promptly forgot it.
I have 18 flats of various style and sizes that are all designed for seed starting of some sort of another.
Sorry but it is just too hard to count the '4 inchers' b/c I don't want to pull them apart. Worried that I'll tear some in the process. Also have both round and square quart size pots. They're currently strewn around the yard.
In addition to all of those, I have various sizes and styles of pots given to me by neighbors. And I still have a few crack pots. Whew!

Ok I think I have come up with an idea for this thread. When you have something or find something that you will have for the next RU please post it here at the bottom and also under where you link takes people. That way the thread gets bumped up and also allows others who are new to this check it out and join us or us who are here to check and see what is new and remember what is available.
I want to please ask that we keep the chat to a minimum. If something is offered by someone and you would like to know a little more (say someone offers palm plants) you can ask which they are so they have a chance to clarify which it is.
Please add or delete things as they become available or are no longer available. even if you have wants and nothing available that is fine and the other way also if you have offers but no wants.
example TX_Flower_Child if you more pots you could say I have added mot flower pots and have listed the amount and sizes in my link. Please feel free to dmail me for the next RU if you are attending. Also we can add who and what we are bringing someone to our linked post.
Then when RU is over we can delete that. Most of you I know very well but if you are new please don't get excited and ask so the person holds them and you don't know if you will make it.
If you ask make sure you will be there or make arrangements to meet and get them before the RU. No holding for those who might come not fair to or other members.
If you have any other suggestions please let me know either here or Dmail me pls. I am adding this to the top post also as something everyone who comes by can see.

I'm confused (not unusual) but have to admit that I haven't been on DG lately. So not sure where to repeat this question asked somewhere up the line here by ILJ99 and me. Does someone collect egg cartons, and if so, paper or plastic or both? Need to know if I should save or if I can pitch 'em?
We do have someone who likes to get egg cartons. I am not sure who it is but yes please save them. I know Smockette can use the paper ones to grow seed but there is someone who uses them all for eggs. Please save them and we will find someone to use them. :)
