Morning Glories 2014 #05

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Wonderful blooms Helena., Love the pretty pink Porcelain Blizzard. I don't mind repeat blooms either. When mine start blooming, I promise you I'll be sending repeat blooms too. :-)
Helena, the plants I didn't carry back to the g house I've laid on their sides and I've covered all my baby mg seedlings in the large tubs trying to keep the rain off of them.

Hope you get some nice blooms in a few weeks Linda.

Look at these variegated lvs from 2011 in 1st pic.
2nd pic is Purple no Mai when it 1st bloomed
Xiongs on the fence also 2011, one of my favorites

Morning, still cloudy here, rained earlier.

Have a new bloom that the label says it's Tsukiyono but looks like a blue Saz to me. Can't really remember what it's supposed to look like, the trouble with growing so many mg's. (edited for spelling). Checked plantfiles and saw the purple Tsukiyono but know there are other colored ones.
The second bloom is Karen's darker Duskie x Fuji, I like the color of this one but too many of these fancy blooms are sterile and no pollen. Do hope to get at least a few seeds.
The 3rd bloom is DFNM
Blue rayed
Blue tie dye

Those are very pretty!

Wozers, I have missed a lot of beautys. All of them are so breath taking. A certain "gloriuos" lift from the ho hum of work today when I came here to see all your lovlies. Helena that Blue Rayed is to die for and the one I like best in your earlier posts is the may 30th last photo, but they are all so very special!
LK, they will be up and blooming no time for you.

Jackie, I really hope we get that purple no mai back this year ;)

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh my gosh Helena, drop dead gorgeous blooms you're letting us enjoy with you!!!

Debra, I messed up by not hand pollinating the purple No Mai. If I get another bloom like that
one above, I need to hand pollinate and mark it well to gather the seeds.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda, Debra and Jackie.

Another rainy morning here, still more repeat blooms. Don't feel bad Jackie, I have not hand pollinated any of my blooms this year. I know a lot were sterile, I didn't see any pollen so I know there won't be a lot of seeds on the fancy ones. If I get just a few seeds it will be enough to keep the cultivar going, I hope.
Like dark DFNM
Love how dark Black King has bloomed
Pink Porcelain x choco
Blue tie dye

Those are beautiful! Hard to pick out a favorite!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

All lovely Helena.
I am trying to find sds from Parks supposed Blue Tie Dye, most of them
all bloomed out purple, not blue out of that pkg. So dis-organized here, I can't
even find the pkt of seeds. Last yr all I had was the Lite Blue Tie Dye which was
pretty but I want a darker blue bloom. I love yours.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda and Jackie. I do see seed pods on some of the vines. I need to go out early in the morning and describe the color of bloom on some of the labels.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

So, I got a pic of what I am hoping is pandurata, but I found two vines ! Joe moved the arch so I have my poles ready and armed, with sunflowers and other tall flowering plants there for the vines to climb up on.. I got fenc and all kinds of stuff there, ready to weave my lambs wool yarn in it ..
Last pic is of an AIR Potatoe plant that came back after winter! Sheese!

Air potatoe?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

WOW. I just Googled air potatoes, it is an invasive weed, and says it can not be bought, sold or moved with out permit in certain states.

I have never heard of it!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

look at cinnamon vine, that is the one I have. Bonnie told me to get rid of it. I will see what it does this year .

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

look here: http://www.anniesannuals.com/signs/d%20-%20g/Discorea_batatas_CY.htm
anyways, it doesn't have an arch now so will have to figure something out!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wish I could be there when it blooms to smell those flowers! Sounds interesting.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

34 years is a long time! Congrats!

Beautiful flowers! What is the 3rd one?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Red white and blue! Nice blooms Shauna!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

3rd one looks like a Jaimie Lynn cross of some kind. Beautiful. Thanks for the congrats.. we are not doing much this year, next year will be the year we really celebrate.

Debra, I think Linda was talking about your honeysuckle bloom??
Congrats on your 34th anniversary. Love your blooms.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, Thanks for the ID! It sure is pretty.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

LK, that is called GoldFlame. It is a hybrid. I am making cuttings of it and John Clayton( yellow long tubes) and Blanche Sandman. They are not as aggressive as the natives around here.
( as far as Honeysuckles go)

Shawna's third pic of her JL cross reminds me of one I had last year, but can't find a pic of it now. Funny how things cross.
Jackie, did you look at the leaves of the vines I showed? Is it my pAndy?

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Debra, I did look at it, very hard to tell. The base of my pandy stem is red, turning to green further up the stem. I bet it is your pandy. Doesn't surprise me that it has 2 vines coming up. Pandy does keep spreading and coming up
all over the place. I love it anyway.

Edited to say I'm pretty sure its your pandy even though I notice the air potato has red on its stem too.

Yes they both ( all three) have that red turning to green stem, but the leaves on the air potato is definately not Pandy LOL I am so kacited that I am going to have to ask Joe to build me a permanent fence for it there ( or trellis) since he sorta "stole" my arbor that was there to make a gateway for his beanpatch.

Helena, those are beautiful!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Beautiful blooms Debra and Helena.

Helena your 1st bloom is one of the speckled? I really like it and that wild and crazy mutant in the last pic between 2 normal looking DFNM blooms.

Just realized well over 100 posts, starting a new thread.
