Another cool, gloomy day!
Weather in the Garden #137
59° I feels colder as the mist is hanging in the air. Very overcast.
We just got here a little while ago, and I had time to walk around before the sprinkles started. Now I hear boomers.
Was outdoors today planting my hot and sweet peppers in containers , the rain began to fall so I had to come in , hoping to go out later,
gray till about lunch time then the sun came out, rained just a bit ago again
Came down from NH today....traffic was light....weather is outstanding right now, but showers may threaten later......
Absolutely gorgeous day here, no rain at all. We're getting less than some neighboring towns. Over the last 2 days we got 3/8," mostly at night. Some things look very dry.
We had beautiful weather on Sunday too. Took a break to drive to visit our still unplanted tree at Weston Nursery and gasp at the amazing plants. Rained overnight.
Rained here as well.......cloudy now, but clearing & headed to 90!!
No rain here since The other day, and we didn't get that much then. With the heat the last couple of days everything here is beginning to look very dry, especially the newly planted seedlings.
Rain today, Pam.....my garden is still pretty wet here, drainage isn't as good as where you live....should be around 80 today.
Yesterday was gorgeous. The humidity was pretty low for which I was thankful. Nice day for a get together
too hot for me today, high was 84° looked like storms all day but wind really started whipping just as I was about to leave for women's fellowship dinner at 7pm
.13"
It will be 10 days before we get back to the garden. I got the irrigation going in the driest sections, but if it doesn't rain enough while we're gone things will fry. My ad for garden help netted (among about 50 others!!) a 16 year old who lives 5 minutes away. She knows we don't get as much rain as surrounding areas, and will come water the pots if needed. Whew!
Those thunder boomers brought the temp down nicely.
That's great!! Glad you found someone close by.
You had violent T-storms last night, Pam....didn't get more than a few rumbles here.....it was just pouring, temp at 50.....not my idea of gardening weather! Looks like I'll be knitting today.....
My little teenager says it only rained for about 10 minutes. On the radar I've seen clouds go around us-- we're on the peak of the hill.
I'm sure the 10 minutes of rain soaked in, Pam....lots of trees & branches down in Warren, Kent, & Southbury....one man electrocuted in New Milford.....weather bureau coming out to see if it was a tornado.....
47° gloomy, now a breeze. Nothing like a tornado or harsh wind.
Wow!!! I'm glad we weren't there!
Weather! Nothing so dramatic here but overnight low was 39 F when not long ago, temp was a high of 90.
Low here in the 30s as well....just awful! Not a tornado to hit western CT, but straight line winds of over 100 mph......scary!
I would think they were scary. Nothing like that here. 58° bright sun.
Sounds scary! I wonder if we lost branches. Very often in these storms we don't, and then blam!
Sunny now, but showers predicted for later in the day.....going to Hollandia Nursery today with my cousins, hope to find some roses.....
upper 60's and sunny
great sunny day & got a bit of garden work done, using my new cultivator with the adjustable handle. clouding up now & temp has dropped 4° to 60.
low 70's and sunny. worked on some weeding
Yesterday was not a great day......cloudy, cool, a few showers.....today is supposed to be close to 80 & sunny!
Today is supposed to be the pick of the week. yesterday was mostly sunny and around 65, so i had no complaints either, when it came to working in the garden.
In the 60s all afternoon. Great day for the iris club tour & judges' training. Couldn't be better/
Summer-like here today.....80-85!
Another summery, 80 degree day on tap....T-storms this afternoon.....
In the 60s. Showers predicted for tonight.
Sprinkling now. Got WARM and muggy!!!
too hot for me...can you tell I really do not like the heat? 89° was the high
had 1 t-storm roll thru .02"
T storms overnight and a power outage for awhile.
T-storms stayed away from my town....my son lost power as well, Rosemary, but here, just enough rain to perk up the garden!
56° rain, but no thunder
