Before I married,my maiden name was Lila Bramble of Willowbottom. We must be sisters inlaw MaVieRose! I have it on good authority that the Maggots are cousins on the Took side.
Everyone knows that the Tooks are kin to all of us!

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Kentwood, LA(Zone 8b)

I guess that makes Lilith my sister. I wonder who is the oldest, we need to get the pecking order straight. Right Lilith.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

I went back and checked to see my maiden name. I was Bramblerose Knotwise of Michel Delving So I have lots of company now! But it was probably knotwise (not wise) to marry a maggot! Such a nameis a shame but I adore him all the same!

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Donna, so when are you coming to meet this side of the family? :)
I hate to admit this, and might get thrown out of this thread, but I've never read the book. Does anyone have a copy they'll lend me??

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

A little Hobbit History for those of you who aren't familiar with the book. By far and away, the most famous hobbit of all is
Bilbo Baggins
World traveler extraordinaire. Hobbits are not fond of leaving home, but Bilbo rose to the occasion and had many adventures. Not of his own choosing,as he loved to have vast dinner parties and consume great amounts of food. And food was scarce where he traveled. The term 'he eats like a hobbit' was coined after him.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

tig,

I'd love to come meet the family and have lots of goodies to eat (just like Bilbo did). After all the problems with the airlines right now, I'd have to say it will have to wait awhile.

I read all 3 volumns and loved it...then when they brought out the last edition of the authors work, I hated it, never even got 1/3 finished.

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

tiG, I have never read any of it, so hold your head up. I think my age didn't match up with opportunity or something, it just didn't happen and then there wasn't time. I guess if I read Harry Potter at this age, I could read a little Hobbit? Will check for my name eventually. But with the ones I've read, I'm a little intimidated.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

okay, to bring this to reality, is the Hobbit anything like Harry Potter? cause I haven't read HP, but can tell from tv what it's like. Not my cup of tea. Should i bother with the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings?

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

tiG, Hobbits are different :) you are okay. :) I have also read the hobbit in high school really cute stories.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I'll have to check out the library:)
