I agree! It does lend a certain wild look to the property. I think I'll leave it as, but possibly plant something close that would benefit from the protection it offers.
Substantial branch breakag from this last snow, with p. strobus and P. banksiana getting the worst of it. It's a big mess, with large white pine branches down all over the area. Jack Pine tends to simply break off on near lower canopy line.
