Morning Glories 2014 #03

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

I like the purple Helena.

Those are lovely Debra. What a wonderful friend you have in Linda. :-)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hope you like them Debra! I had a lot of fun making them!

Gautier, MS

Thanks ladies. Very nice Debra, you did a great job Linda.

These are blooming in my yard. Found out what I was doing wrong with camera. White wisteria smells so good. I decided that I will be growing mg's in pots and close to wire fence so they can climb all over.

Linda K, I didn't realize you were the friend Deb was referring to. Very thoughtful of you!! :-)

Beautiful blooms and photos Helena. So glad you figured out what you were doing wrong with your camera.
Love your Rose and pretty Iris, can't believe how big your mg vines are getting. You'll have blooms in no time.

Oxalis in g house
Camellia, this horrible winter almost cost me my blooms
My new plant, Scilla, just starting to open. Might plant this in a lg tub instead of the ground.

Very pretty blooms Jackie. I like them all, actually love the color on your camellia.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

white wisteria.. cool! Never seen any of that and certainly never smelled a camelia.. lovely!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

I've never seen a white wisteria either, very neat. I like your lovely white Rose blooms too Helena.
Debra, as far as I can tell, my Camellia doesn't have a fragrance. With blooms that pretty though, it's ok..

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Wow Linda what a great job you did, love them!!

Wow again for all the beautiful blooms, makes spring real for sure! Not much here yet but crocus and daffs, lots of buds ready to pop on the trees. A few more days of warm weather and I should be seeing more.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Love all those beautiful flowers! I have never seen a white wisteria either.
thanks everyone. I love to sew quilts and when Debra asked me to make those for her I was more than happy to.

Gautier, MS

White wisterias grow wild here.
Linda, you really made those quilts special! Wish I could do that.

It's been raining here and a bit cold but I'm enjoying my little jewels this morning. Went to Lowes and been very surprised at the plants they are selling that are good nectar plants for hummers. So far I bought a (red orange and a yellow plant)Tecoma, Wendy's wish salvia. I think I'm going back to get a red shrimp plant growing as a tree (like they do with roses). I saw it there the other day but it was pricy so I didn't get it. Been very tempting!

awwww love the hummers. I see you have an arch for your vines too. Love it.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Love the hummer pics Helena. Ours returned a few days ago. Glad I made DH put the
feeder out last Tues. Saw my 1st one Friday and worry about them cause its turned off cooler
here. 50's today so might get down in the upper 30's tonight.
Helena, lucky you that your Lowes gets in a nice selection of tropicals. Ours only gets in the Hibiscus,
yr after yr. How about something different.???

From 2010

oh love that eye candy.. Jackie , you can never have enough hibiscus if they are all different, right?

Gautier, MS

Pretty blooms Jackie! Love that yellow orange color!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Debra, don't get me wrong, I love hibiscus but that's all my Lowes ever gets in.I would love to'see some Abutilons, and maybe some different Cane Begonias, and how
about more vines. Guess its time for a mail order.:-)
Helena, I never got this pretty iris planted in the ground.
Its still alive so I may finally try to get it planted.
I would love to have a ton of Iris's and Daylilies too.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful blooms everyone!

A few years ago, I got a small start of wisteria from a friend, and I finally have buds on it this year. It is white. I would love to get a purple one going too!

Tampa, FL(Zone 9b)

Didn't quite catch this bloom when it was fully open...

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

it's a purty one for sure, Shauna. ;)

Gautier, MS

Jackie, I don't have mine planted in the ground either. I wanted to protect them from the little mole that my cat's finally caught, at least one of them.

Finally, the sun has been coming out, a surprise find that I've been checking on my indica mg that was hit by frost pretty good. It looks like it traveled at least 14 inches wrong the main stem but I'm still happy to see it. I think the slugs been munching on it too. I see not sign of my pandy though. A bloom of my salvia and tecoma.

Helena, glad your indica is coming back. It may still be a week or so early for your pandy. Could appear any time now. :-) Love the Salvia, one of my favorites.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Love the Salvia.. you are so lucky to have it return for you there ;)

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

I finally got a few mg sds started. Will start lots more by the 1st of May.

I have a new roof, the weathered wood architectural. it looks so much better. My old
one was patched with mis-matched shingles, how embarrassing.

Beautiful blooms Jackie. Glad you got some seeds up.

I found at least 2 different spots where my pandy has been coming up strongly at 4ft already.
This one doesn't mess around compared to the ip. indica that seems to be on a much slower pace. I also found the little red mg's volunteer coming up in another pot. I'm hoping for buds to start appearing on my other vines.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena. I'm glad you're pandy has returned. I was out looking for signs of my pandy today but didn't see it. Too many leaves out there, I'll rake tomorrow.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I have a couple of buds on my Lindheimeri...I over wintered it and thought it was done for. Started to sprout a few weeks ago then took off. I saw the little buds today!

Ronnie, Glad your lindheimeri is ok. Can't wait to see the blooms.
My ochracea has returned after I thought it was a goner.
So relieved.

Gautier, MS

Glad to see your lindheimeri vine doing good. Looking forward to the blooms too.

I see tiny buds on some of my vines too. Found my first ip nil volunteer seedling in the ground so had to rescue it into a pot. My other vines are taking off.

Jackie, sure wish the ochracea vine would be a stronger bloomer. I still have mine too but it just doesn't want to bloom. Your ochracea blooms were much nicer.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Helena, I think ochracea likes being in a pot. When it gets potbound, that seems to encourage bud set. :-)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Can't wait to see those blooms!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I didn't get one to grow for me I guess, One tiny bloom from last year and that was in ground and then got lost, so no seeds here for that one, but I am okay with that, I saw the sharp pod blooming downstairs, and a watercolor blue from dany bloomed, but it was faded by the time I got my camera down there..

Kathy has the raise my baby swap open. Come and check it out!

Gautier, MS

Left my mg's outside, the ones that I had in pots climbing the fence, well they look very unhappy with last nights cold. The ones I placed in the gh are looking good.

These are my new plants making my hummers very happy. The last plant I'm wondering if anyone here can ID it. It has no tags and I can't remember what I planted? Possibly pea vine????

Lovely shrimp plants Helena. I don't recognize the last plant but maybe someone here will.
Cold here too the last 2 nights but warming back up soon. Your mg's should perk back up as your temps warm, I'll be carrying my plants out of the g house here in a couple of weeks,

My new plants
a lovely Alternanthera
Lana, a cane, angel wing, Begonia
Abutilons pink and salmon

I have that Alternanthera and it is awsome year round. You will be glad you have it Jackie. I mis my shrimp plants, I lost them all. But that is okay.. I can look at yours Helena. ;)
In and out my plants go , sheese! I guess I will be glad when Spring decides to stay longer.
I have never been able to get Abutilons to grow good for me, , it is fun to see someone else grow them. ;)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Love all the beautiful plants everyone! Nice colors! I really like that Alternanthera, where did you get it?

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Debra and Linda. I hope I do well with the Abutilons Debra, one of my favorites
These both have roots hanging out of the bottom of the pot so need to repot soon.
Linda, I was at BJ Plants and Produce, a local store
If I get seed pods, I can save you both some seeds.
Speaking of roots, look at these great roots on my variegated Brug,. Also my Senecio
macroglossus. Both rooted in a cup of water. I root my angel wing Begonias in water too and lots of other things.

Linda, Oops I meant if the Abutilons make sd pods, will save sds for you and Debra.

They will be blooming in no time!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

good Job Jackie!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda and Debra. I've not been taking good care of my brugs lately. So big that they make a lot of work for an old lady. Always needing a bigger pot but I love the fancy blooms, so I'll make an effort with these 2. I've also got the new to me Brug that Debra sent me.
