Formating problem on all pages+ membership

( Pam ) Portland, OR

Not sure exactly how long this has been going on because I mistakenly thought I had agreed to automatic renewal of my membership. When the bill never showed up on my credit card, at first I assumed my timing was off. I was not viewing Daves' Garden during the winter this year, so imagine my surprise starting awhile back, not being able to find any way to log in ( turns out that's due to the bad view I have, not showing the right hand side of the page).

Friday night I finally wrote the the Contact us page.
No reply.
I did eventually notice by the lower bar on the monitor, that indeed I can attempt to log in. Turns out my membership did expire. Hoping this formatting issue would fix itself once I whipped out my credit card and sent you guys some money, I did just that.

The good news:
Thank you Dave's Garden for saving my member information, most importantly my plant list !

The bad news:
Every page is still way off to the right hand side. Each time I click to see anything, first I must mouse down to the bottom and move the whole image to the center. Then I can scroll down. Same problem when viewing images in posts.

I have carefully read all the posts in the similar thread " Old space problem has showed up again".

All my browsers settings are the default
.
This happens in IE 11, Chrome, and Firefox. All browsers are updated.

This is a Windows 8 ( now 8.1) computer that I have been using since the second week it was released, so I don't think it's me.

I do not have this problem at any other sites.

Help please !
I'll stay this year, hoping this get fixed, but I'm not going to be able to use this site much because my wrist is not going to hold up. I feel the ache start after only a pretty short while, when there are still discussions and plant files I would like to see. I've been one of the loyal, but quieter subscribers since 2010 , and will feel a loss if I'm unable to continue here.

Is membership down ? It seems much slower than I remember for this time of year.

I hope you get the help you need!

We made some changes last year that have had both good and bad effects for folks. If you have your screen resolution set to a much-larger-than-typical setting, the screen may appear to be skewed far to the right. We have done what we can to optimize the view for as many people as possible, but we have had to make some changes because so many more people are using smaller devices (smart phones and tablets), and we're trying to balance their needs along with everyone who is on a more traditional laptop or desktop system.

We don't auto-renew anyone's subscription (never have, probably never will), so we are sorry for any lapse (we send out renewal reminders, but we're not pushy about it :-).

Our number of members continues to increase but winter has always been a slower season for us.

Hi Terry and thank you very much.

You realizing it was the resolution was the key. Brilliant. :)

Knowing you did some changes regarding this during the winter while I was missing, was a huge relief, because before that, it just made no sense at all. DG is the only place I had problems.

Turns out fixing it was not as easy and simple as I assumed it would be. Looking here at the dates, it seems it takes me five days to successfully complete this little simple project. At first I just tested different sizes.. stopping when it made me dizzy. Then laying in bed at night feeling my entire forearm burning from the pain caused by the scrolling, it turns out doing a bit each day, returning to original setting in order to care for my regular site I mod, then trying again the next day, eventually got me to where I am now. I can finally see everything here, other sites, my e-mail, and the wallpaper is okay. Not happy with the size of my tabs or toolbar, but this will be close enough. What a mess this was

I'll tell you, if anybody can make something complicated, apparently it's me. Just wanted to report back once I got things to work. Thanks again.

Oh, turns out my internal clock was right about an automatic payment.. Flickr let me know the day after I posted here, they are charging my next years dues. So I was right. ....just wrong about who it was. LOL
