So tired of this! Yesterday Pat blew leaves off some of the gardens and I pruned away remaining growth from last year. Also, finished pruning and cleaning out pots on the patio. Never know it now.
On our deck we have created several flat surfaces with some protection for feeding birds in bad weather. All food left from yesterday is deeply buried now, Junco for scale. Photos taken early this morning, hence poor lighting.
Weather Watching Feb 2014 - No More Snow?
Geez you guys got hammered! No offense though, I'm glad it went somewhere other than in my yard!! :)
I read last night on facebook that one of my friends said: "God should give up snow for Lent". Irreverent, but made me giggle!
I'm waiting to hear the depth they announce for BWI because we are so close to it- its a solid six inches at least, and the most at once this winter.
Haha...nice Typ :)
(sheepish grin) Well, I measured just over six inches on the deck chairs... but it LOOKS deeper.
There's a good 5 inches here so far. Frederick schools are closed... the Y is open, but the roads look slippy enough that I decided we didn't need to drive across town to go swimming this morning.
I forgot to refill the bird feeders when we got home last night (we were in Pittsburgh for the weekend, with my family), so this morning I was throwing seed out the door... I also set a couple of paper plates on the back deck and heaped seed on them; I've refilled those once already. :-)
A good 10" here. Snow, Snow go away...
I hope we don't end up with a thread "Weather Watching May 2014 - No More Snow?"
We just got and inch or so, Ric is out there blowing it away with the leaf blower and I heard that it will be melted by this afternoon.
David, don't jinx it!!!
I'm sitting at the computer in the conservatory, and a huge amount of snow just slid off the roof. Poor little Riley dog was sleeping on the chaise (his new favorite spot), and the noise scared the living daylights out of him. He's hiding somewhere now, need to go find and reassure him that all is ok.
Snow is a 4 letter word! We had 11/2-2"s. Easily dispatched with the leaf blower unlike what Y'all to the south got. Hopefully your surroundings have absorbed enough heat from the glorious sunshine lately to melt it away. I could tell we got it even before getting out of bed, it was just way too bright out. It made me want to pull the covers over my head and go back to sleep till the bright was dew on the green grass.
Correction here please- I actually used a tape measure instead of my hand and a foggy brain. Millers Ville has 9 inches. The main roads have patches of ice/slush. Our neighborhood roads have a clear plowed lane right down to wet pavement.
The guy at Aldi drove down here from Towson. Egads, said it was horrible on main roads earlier.
OOOH Sally did you move to a new town? "Millers Ville" sounds so ritsy! ;)
I went out to shovel snow--all done now--car cleaned off too.
Have to go to a Club for Corned Beef and cabbage---and lots of beer----
Oh--OHHH! NOT the best combination.....
Took my ruler out and measured top of my car--fromt lawn edge---and on the patio
on top of that little table. 6" everywhere....however, I think some of it may have
already melted a bit on the bottom.
Another FLUFFFY snow...than goodness.....easier on my back and arms.
Gita, Enjoy your meal and beer. We will be having ours tomorrow since we invited my parents to come and with the snow they won't drive down here. So we rescheduled for tomorrow, will it still count? LOL
Guess we got about 4-5" here.
I'm with you about wanting to crawl back under the covers when it just seemed TOO light outside. Hehehe
Having you dinner today will absolutely count!
As Josh predicted, yesterdays snow is all but gone, and good riddance.
Hi everyone I decided to leave the snowy winter behind and started a summer weather thread!
Sweet, what's the link?
Here, you lazy bum!
