2013 N Central TX RU Oct. 20th in Arlington TRADE THREAD #2
Thank you Anna, I hope I will have something for you too.
This message was edited Sep 29, 2013 4:07 PM
Thanks, Stephanie, for opening this new thread. I was getting a little dizzy trying to keep up with the other one.
I forgot some people might want pond plants. I have 2 varieties of pickerel rush, the more pointed arrow leaf and the rounder leaf, otherwise they are the same, I have tons. Surplus hardy water lilies, at least white, possibly some peach. Parrots feather, 2 varieties. Lizard tongue, lots of surplus, a little bit of horsetail, could spare small cuttings. My original trade spot is updated but not as thoroughly as this post. I was outside today and can't see the water on one pond. May have Taro (pond elephant ears) but I do not recommend it as it is very aggressive and can invade your yard. I throw it out when I find it here.
Be sure to add those to your list, Gypsi!
I just added pond plants Stephanie. Even the list above is probably incomplete, I listed what I have the most of and put others, "inquire"
Here is what I have so far that I can think of and will post a few pictures too as I don't know the name of them any more the tags faded or got broke off

Hi Phyllis. My name is Marty and I would love a pink plumeria. All I have is the yellow/white one. I have several so if you would like one of those, we could swap or look at my list and see if there is anything you would like. I would also like an oakleaf hydrangea.
Please ask for something. I cannot list everything. I might have it.

Gypsi, I would like some pond plants, your choice, but if would like a water lily please.
Here are 3 pictures of some plants of course one is a fern but forget the name of the other 2
Marty you got a pink plumeria and an oakleaf...do you have any of the orchid trees left?
I have others but have not broke any off to make starts of them yet as not all of them bloomed this year and need to know the colors before I break off starts but I think I have a yellow/white one.
Does anyone have a seedling of the variegated leaf Althea? Dh didn't pay attention when weed eating and cut mine of and has killed what was left of it :-(

Phyllis, 1 and 3 look like sages. When you crush a leaf, does it smell like a sage? I have white orchid trees left so I'll put your name on one.
Phyllis -
Just saw your list. I would like some gardenia bush starts. Could you be a little more descriptive by what you call 'starts'? Also, do you know what type of gardenias these are? Depending on size, etc, I would love to have at least 2.
Also would like your fern. Any idea of what type of fern?
Have to look up some of your other plants on DG garden guide.
Hope there's something on your 'want' list that I might have.
And I agree with Steadycam that 2 of your pictures look like sages or salvias.
Phyllis the plants you didn't recognize are Salvia farincea, Mealy blue Sage, both the blue and the white varieties.
Thanks for the new thread Stephanie! If you would please add the links to everyone's trade list at the top.
Will do, Sheila.
Does anyone have any Texas Betony? I just discovered mine dead in the flower bed. :(
Thanks Josephine I knew you or someone would know the answer to them
I will be bringing a lot of pond plants. What is a betony? And my poor scullcap is giving up I think, barely alive, I don't know how to save it.
Gypsi, do you have the pink or the heartleaf? scullcap that is.
If it is heartleaf skullcap then do not worry since it goes dormant during the summer. Mine died back months ago.
Mine too, they will start coming back up soon.
The first year this happened with my heartleaf skullcap, Josephine reassured me that they die in August and come back in October. She was right!
Stephanie, your post about betony made me check mine. It was on it's last legs.....sorry I have none to share but hopefully mine will survive.
I believe mine is heartleaf, yes. So I didn't kill it? Woohoo!
ahem, I updated my post to let everyone that wants pond plants know to bring a bucket. I grow most of mine without pots, in filters, etc, so they are wet bare roots, occasionally with a bit of muck on them. I am bringing a lot and do not have enough pots so they will all be coming in my buckets and leaving in your buckets or a plastic grocery sack which may be drippy. It is fall and I have more pond plants than I will ever own pots I think. In spring
my plants are just breaking dormancy and I often have none to spare. So grab a bucket, or coolwhip bowl to stick
under your bag, and throw it in the trunk today while you are thinking about it.
I need to go through the thread and count what I need to but I have to finish my bookkeeping and 2012 taxes first. So I will do the best I can, tax day is before the roundup. It may be 10/16 before I do a good update.
Sorry if this was irritable yesterday. I am doing bookkeeping, always a grumpy producer, and my daughter's car was totaled, fortunately she only has minor injuries and the baby was not with her. Worried moms are also pretty grumpy

I would love an oak leaf hydrangea if one is still available?
My TX betony looks good but I don't have any started. Can someone tell me if it is easy to root? I will be willing to give it a try if I know the best method.
I can bring a pot of heartleaf skull cap but it does indeed come back after a summer rest. Mine is up and growing already.
I think my Betony got crowded out, but if I find any seedlings to spare you can have one Stephanie. Still holding the two foxglove too.
Mibus2...I would love to have a couple pink plumeria. Check my list please.
Mibus2 -
Don't know if you've had a chance to see if I have anything you'd be interested in.
I would really like one or 2 of your Gardenias.

It is yours Mibus.
Mibus - I'm going to have several grocery bags of irises. I will be delighted for you to take some irises home with you. I'll update my thread as a reminder.
Kittriana, could I have one or two of your pink and white crinums if there are any left?
Gypsi, I would love some of your broccoli seed (and instructions how to grow it) if you still have some.
Both of you please check my trade post to see if there's anything you would like.

Sheila_FW--I see that you have me down as receiving white petunias. May I also have a start of the tall pink ones? Thanks.
Got you down Bezziec! I think yours will not be a problem, but I am not sure if I can find another so I took the pink off the list. The whites are my favorite and I have plenty of them. There are not many white flowers that bloom in the daytime heat.
Thanks Sheila. You are right about daytime blooming whites. I use a lot of blackfoot daisies for that as well as annual vinca in white,
lots of broccoli seed. I will make up some envelopes. I have planted some for fall and it came up beautifully, but I have a peanutbutter jar full of seeds, and I keep them refrigerated.
Gypsi, I would love some broccoli seed. My garden club is having broccoli contest and maybe you have the winning variety!
Mibus, I would love to try a pink plumeria too.
I was able to divide 3 more smaller goldenrods and dug up 3 Henry Duelberg salvia if anyone wants.
Banana18--I would like one of your Henry Duelberg Salvia if they aren't spoken for.
Bezzie, I have you down for the pink ones. I have lots so no prob at all for me to bring to you.
