I feel guilty watching all the hard work you poor gardeners have to do, in order to prepare for the Winter.
It probably takes you a month to recover from all that.
Good luck and all the very best with your Winter Brugs ^_^

Elizabeth, I suspect you are a real treasure ! like our Charleen.

Waving to all of our fellow Brug lovers over the pond. Hope you all beat the Frost/Snow.

Oh Elizabeth, I didn't know you liked Agaves, the plan things of the Opuntias look great. I like those fall colors, fall is my favorite time to decorate, I think I just love the fall colors. Your pictures came out great too. I can send you some agave pups come spring, I am done trading also and the remodeling is ongoing here for another few weeks.

Love all your photos thank you for sharing them,

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Agaves, will they live thru the winter outside or are they inside plants. I am in 7b-8 zone. Depends on who you ask....

Hi Charlene, there are some really hardy agaves that will live through snow, I think they can withstand really cold temps as long as they are not frozen for several hours. Take a peek at the plant delights catalog to get an idea of how low temps they can take. I have some hardy Opuntias and agaves. Sharkskin agave doesn't blink an eye in cold weather and agave parryii truncata is a good looking one too.

Here are some of mine, the ones in rather long green planter are four year old pups of octopus agave..the mom is about 14 inches across and 10 inches tall in her own pot.

So you leave them outside?? Annette???
I got my package today Elizabeth. Hugs and "I love them" Wow! those are larger stems than my yellow ones.
Charleen

Mesilla Park, NM

Yes, most of them, the only one I bring in is the one opinion the first pic, and pups, they may do okay too, the skin is very thick on these guys, as long as you water only once a month from September on, so they don't have too much water in them and they won't freeze.

Stop it Girl, I thought I was through, Trading, now Look what you've Done, you have posted some of my Favorite, That's Just Amazing, my Hubby Said the Cati that you sent me Look like little Tombstone's, from the Street, Now let's see if that Woman, that let her Dog, Pee on my Plants, will do that with These Planted there, sometimes People are Just Rude

Charleen
I am Glad you Got Your Box, I always Worry, that something can Happen, but with the Way they're

I have to tell you guys something,.. Every single box I've gotten has been really crushed. The PO here puts a sticker on each box saying it was received that way at this location. Every single priority flat rate box and even from plant companies. I think the El Paso TX post office needs to retrain their people. It really makes me mad. But, ironically, all the plants and cuttings have been okay.

Agaves are really beautiful specimens, I wish I had a greenhouse sometimes. I have a houseful now with my cuttings.

The cacti look great, you know what would do the trick for peeing and pooping cats or dogs...?. Just put as many pine combs as you can in he areas you want them out of, use pine cones as mulch, it really works. They hate walking on them. I would too for that matter, if I had to walk barefooted.. Lol

Hamilton, OH

Antoinette
Great idea, it's not the Animals Fault, it's that Owner, I nearly Busted a Gut, when she was walking her Dogs one Day, Mikey & Matti, the 2 Babies next door, started Barking at her, she was almost Running, to get away. I wish I had taped it then put in on youtube. you know what I think I still have the Pine cones from Last Christmas, I will find them, How's your remodeling coming along?

Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Yep, Post Office good at losing things. Aggravating folks...
Pinecones, I got them things and Sweet gum seed too. either one can be bad to step on by this old "Tenderfoot"
have a good night Girls.

Cabinets are on order, the two sets of French doors and the glass door for the bathroom will be ready this week and windows for bay window too,. It is all torn up here. The tile over the tub and shower just got done today, countertops won't be ready for the bathrooms till end of this week. Nowadays everything seems to be special order items. But, the house is getting painted outside portion today, and the new aircondioner and Hester work is started today.

We can't win for trying sometimes, we had a new roof put on a little over a year ago. The company hired some yahoos and they ruined the upgraded shingle we got, ruined the entire roof. Now, we need another new roof.. So our insurance company will probably sue the company THEY recommend last year. It's been on heck of a month here. I think that the new roof will be going on anytime now. My dogs and I fell did placed.. Lol

But, the end results are worth the wait. I'll take some photos when everyone leaves tonight.

I bet you are sorry you asked.. Lol

Hamilton, OH

Antoinette
No I am not Sorry I asked, I just know, it will be Beautiful when it's done, I can't wait to see your Pic's Yes it will be worth it, when it's done

My dogs and I sit around the area covered with plastics while they work. I estimate another month of work here, you can kind of see the bay window cutout and the room with the equipment is stuff for the new heating and air conditioning unit. The bay window area is boarded up till the windows get here, maybe tomorrow? I hope so.

Oh my god, I wish I had an area like that to walk in, it is beautiful Charlene. I bet you hardly ever want to leave that place. I love the outdoors and I'm hardly ever inside. I never clean the house unless I have to, and I hate it. Charlene, I found a really good lotion comes in a tube if you ever get bothered by Mosquitos, and other flying insects. I normally hate those bug spray on types, but this us really good and it works, whatever is left on my hand I rub on my face or hair, neck, or clothes, it is made by Johnson & Johnson an OFF product in a plastic tube, called Botanicals insect repellent, plant based repellent. It smells good and most of all it works even on those dawn houseflies.

I live two miles from the cow dairies here... Hello! Flies.

If I see a couple of flies in the house, I put a little on my face at night because I hate for a fly to bother me in the mornings, lol.. I also use what's left on my hands on top of my dogs head and face being careful not to get near their eyes because those flies and gnats bother tem a lot, it works on fleas, ticks. They had these on clearance at Walmart but I only got one in case I didn't like it, near the camping hunting areas..

This is it.

I got so excited about the lotion that I forgot to say that is a very nice bloom there.
