Should have snagged more pixxx...
at The Rouxcrew Ranch
Beautiful! What is it?
I love Coral Vine! Mine are still young.
Rouxcrew flowers, chuckl. I will let Joy tell you about her vines
There is coral vine with a hyacinth bean vine and American Wisteria peeking through.
Kitt, my sword vine blooms opened. They smell heavenly. This is the vine that I was given at a RU and have not been able to get id'd. Ginormous leaves and seed pods, perfect for covering something tall.
On the other side of the porch has my blue butterfly pea vine. I am so in love with this dainty little vine with the big blue flowers.
My spider lily is blooming, so cool and pure white. It is a standout in the bed.
Very cool!
What kind of feeder do you have?
I got mine at Lowes over the course of a few years but they don't have them any more. I did see them online at Home Depot and will head that way today in hopes of getting a couple more.

I have a couple plastic ones that work okay, but I have in my mind that the glass is easier to sanitize. I also want a base and ports that come apart for cleaning. I don't worry about fancy bottles or odd shapes, they don't work here. I even bought three of the flat feeders that just have a hook hanging above the reservoir and have thrown them away because they don't hang straight from my chains and since only half or less of the port then have water, the birds don't like them. I need more than four ports per feeder to handle the swarms, but there is less fighting if there is still a little space. At the beginning of the season I use smaller feeders so that the water doesn't go bad before it is drunk, and switch to these quart sized now that the masses are here.
I also used to put them out in the yard but find that the birds like the ones in the shade of the porch, I can only imagine how hot the water gets in that glass under our brutal sun.
I ordered one this morning. Thanks for the info! My feeders are mostly shaded so hopefully it won't get too hot. I have smaller ones I've been using, but now that things seem to have picked up, I've found them empty in the afternoon so I think this larger one will help a lot. Thanks again!
Here is a video from this morning,

Love that video! You are certainly doing your part to make sure they survive.
Wow, that is a lot of hummers!
Love the video. I just shared with my friends to prove I wasn't exaggerating about how many hummers you had. Thanks for sharing.
Wow!! That is just beautiful.
2 days ago my Lowes had Evergreen Wisteria (really healthy and growing) for 22.96 approx 3 gallon pot. Really beautiful.
I really love that wisteria, it is so well behaved and blooms very well after it is established. I am hoping that I haven't lost the one at our front gate, the summer drought really hit it hard after a wet spring. In years past I have hauled water up there but I totally was caught unawares this year.
OH, I love that plant! Now I know the name. And now I have to tell myself, Janet, NO MORE PLANTS!! Maybe I'll just print out pictures and make a collage of all the pretty plants I love. It's like a person who loves books and wants to OWN them all instead of borrowing from the library! So hard to control one's obsessions!!
Guess what we have? Tons of babies! This year we unfortunately have seven bottle lambs, a rare occurrence here. And today we are on puppy watch. My Lite is looking like she will whelp tonight or in the morning, so I will be very tired, and I will just be watching.
We have had a busy two weeks and now have eight kids wishing y'all were here to feed them. And I finally have fresh milk! Now to find the time to try making liquid soap.
They are so cute, but I'm sorry about the bottle feeding part. Did the mom(s) reject them?
Beautiful babies Joy! How is the arm healing?
Oh, Joy. Thanks for posting their photos. They are so darn cute. I really like the one with the white spit curl or bangs. The one with the white ears and nose is special too. Are the babies early this year or will there be another batch for Spring RU?
I want one....I here s sheep really close by in our neighborhood. I don't care if it might be for FFA. :) I like the one that is black and white. It looks like it is dressed like a cow.
I may have to come see you for some of your manure for my fresh compost pile. Not sure I can wait till the RU :)
Stephanie, I bought a group of spring ewe lambs in the fall and apparently some were bred. Because of their youth, they didn't have much milk although they were awesome moms. It was easier to just take the lambs and put them on bottles to ensure they got enough to eat.
Our kids are always bottle fed so that we can make cheeses and soaps.
LK, the arm is 100% although I still don't have much throwing strength. I just need to toss stuff more often I guess.
We still have three does left to kid, Violet and Patti are due in March, and I am not sure about Stars, but she will be late spring. I do so try to accommodate.
Sandy, just let me know about the manure, it's always fresh at the farm.
I will post a picture of one of our newest doelings. She has white eyeliner and the tiniest white mustache looking spot on her forehead.
Glad to hear your arm is better Joy! Love those babies!
They got an early start on those babies, chuckl. Stuck in Temple so I will hope all is well - it wont take em long to learn a bucket...pups too. I am sorry, but I love the little ones.
Is the first set of babies you pictured goats? (Cuz they don't look like any lambs I've ever seen! LOL)
ROFL. Yea, the first photos are my Nubian kids and the second group are the bottle baby lambs.
It's those ears on the kids that get me. I really love goats.
Ok, here is a left and right field. First, here is a photo of Lite and her new puppies. Everything went well and all are healthy and happy.
Second, this is a photo of the mystery plant that I asked about a couple months ago. It has grown and blooms theses little yellow flowers. So it isn't anything we thought. Any ideas?
Tired mama. Does that plant have ANY smells?
Hmmmm, malveolla? Blister buttercup, or a wild geranium? I was looking for sticky weed, but thats too different
Beautiful pups!
Joy, I think your plant is buttercup, a weedy thing that I get tons of in the spring. They are pretty so I let them do their thing and they dont last long and go away.
If it is that ranunculus called celery leaf buttercup among other things, it is toxic to pets, stock, horses...
Is Lite an Aussie? ? ? She looks so much like one we had once upon a time, I really did a double take when I opened this thread. She's gorgeous!
The leaves on the plant look familiar, but I can't place where or when or what they make me think of.
Thanks! Lite is a registered Border Collie.
Those are so cute!
Is that an unusual color for Border Collies? There aren't many of that breed around here, and usually they are black & white. Love that picture of her with her puppies!
And I love the horseshoe armadillos! Really clever and creative! Does he sell them? Please forgive me if I ask too many questions. I'm fairly new here on DG, so if these things have been discussed before, I'm not aware of it. Is there somewhere one can see other creations he's made? On the 'net, of course.
Thanks!
