Ahhh, okay I figured out what happened. That member had two usernames - one new, one older. He came to the helpdesk yesterday for assistance, and after I located his existing account, I deleted his new one (I should have checked for existing threads, but I didn't realize he had started any under his new name.)

I've got him squared away and set up with his old account and new email addy, and he's posted an ID question (probably the same one) under the still-existing name. Sorry for the confusion :-)
