Yes finally!

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

Yesterday was another beautiful one, and it brought the customers in by the truckloads, YIPPEE!! I do love having more people to play with at work! < =D

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Sat. afternoon we had a downpour lasting the better part of an hour, some areas receiving 1-2"s in that period. Yesterday we had scattered showers and mostly overcast. Today it's stickey and getting warm :-{
but a very welcome breeze is going about. :-}

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Poured last night(even with the moon out) and had a series of T-storms
almost an inch of rain
humidity is back up today but temps are lower

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Sunny and breezy here fir the 3rd or 4th day now.
Low 80's--low Humidity just lovely gardening weather--but VERY drying.
I have had sprinklers running all day for HOURS!!!
Got one location left to go--and i will be all done.

Thank God--on Baltimore County the water is very cheap!
Baltimore City pays through the nose! At least $100 a month
for a family.
We, in the Co., are billed every 3 months--and I don't expect my bill to be more
than $20-$25 for the next billing.

However--I also live alone--do not do laundry but, maybe,
twice a month, and shower every other day.
Use the Dishwasher so seldom...as I hand wash the few things I use.

OK! Time to go change the sprinkler......Gita

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

Good GOLLY, the weather the past 2 days or so couldn't possibly be any more gorgeous!!! I got to spend ALL day outside at work today, moving tropicals and annuals around, giving perennials haircuts and moving them to new spots... Ooooh what a glorious day!! < =D

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Speedie---

Even though working at a Nursery can be hard and sweaty work--
isn't it glorious to be there with all the plants and have free reign
in taking care of them?
Been there--done that! So relaxing if you can work on your own...

BTW--has anyone noticed that the screen margins are nor black?
Unless it is just my "C"...

Silver Spring, MD(Zone 7a)

Sounds totally lovely! :-)

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

So nice waking up this morning to vlue sky and below 75 degrees. The sun is still strong- my car keys were sitting in the sun at 12 30 and almost too hot to handle-ouch. Went without AC today. Sleeping with katydid chorus tonight.

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

Such pretty music to fall asleep to, huh Sally? Chip-chirp--chip-chirp... sounds so happy!

It really was great outside all day yesterday -- had myself mostly all to myself, pruning, cleaning up, hauling cartfuls of stuff here and there, dragging, hauling, sweating, watering. Today I'll just have to play outside in my own yard. =)

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

I did almost all my mowing yesterday, I barely ended up breaking a sweat, the air dried out and we had a gentle breeze most of the day. Last night was so cool you needed a long shirt to sit out. :-}

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

My Heavens, but did it RAIN on my head today!! I dumped the rain gauge when I headed out the door to work, got rained on the whole time I was there... which was only until 1:00, then BossMan decided to close up early 'cause there weren't nuttin' going on.. got home and found 3/4" in the rain gauge again! WOW! The sun is shining out there now and I hear the lawn growing as we speak. DH says he hears it calling my name. I think he needs his head examined. < =P

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Heehee. Silly man...calling YOUR name indeed! Rained buckets here also

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

ditto- must have been a big system

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

We had about 5 minutes of what "looked" like it will be raining hard--
then--nothing happened....
Perry Hall must be a hole in the clouds....
Then again--sometimes it rains like crazy here--and not in the
surrounding areas. Go figure!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

.40" total

this was my sisters neighborhood in FL

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

Oh my gosh Jen, is your sister alright!?!?!? That tree damage is scary stuff, it really pays to try ones best to take care of those trees before they take care of you! < =/

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Geez ......confirmed tornado down the shore today

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

wow, where that come from ? pretty quiet here today, after an 8 am rainshower. Just real humid.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Crazy flooding around the state, too
We had over an inch 1/2 of rain

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

We had some localized flooding, mostly just roads. Fall-like weather today, absolutely lovely.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

past 2 days have been BEAUTIFUL

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

YES!
I even tried to sleep with my window open a bit--but--it is right next to my bed--
and I could not go to sleep because of all the Crickets sawing away.
Finally--around 1:30AM--I just reached over and slammed my window shut...

I would hear a pin drop in my house....and that is all because I live alone.
Not used to any other noises..... G.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

I love listening to the crickets and especially love katydids, but do not love the neighbor's dog that barks for h o u r s...
awesome weather can we keep this september weather going for the next six weeks please

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

I just placed your order Sally, we'll see if the Manufacturer has enough available. ;)

The last few days, including today, have been downright Heavenly!! I really enjoyed yesterday's weather since I was off work, got to go outside and play in the dirt, Wheeee!!!
< =D

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Whee indeed, it has been wonderful!!! haha speedy!!!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Glorious day yesterday for a huge family get-together. Both of my brothers were there. I meant to get a picture of the three of us, but didn't. I am bummed. Close to 50. A cousin brought some pictures of our great grandfather, his brothers and a sister. I never even knew he had siblings. That was cool. I brought them home to add t the box of pics and papers. I need to get them scanned, etc to make a 'historical' family archive so each family can have the info.

Silver Spring, MD(Zone 6b)

Coleup..I love the Pilots way of forecasting weather! Guess that's why they pay them the big bucks! LOL! As much as some of the meterologist's predictions sometimes, they must go by that stone too.

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Pippi! So nice to see you posting! How are you doing?

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Another overcast day. Last week we had at least 3 dreary days, almost misty, not enough rain to not water the plants, so dragging hoses continued, yet too wet from dew to mow for most of the day. Mid-August fells almost like October. The cool is welcome I think.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Massive t-storm went thru this morn.....whew it was LOUD! shaking the whole house

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Thundered here in Annapolis last night. Muggy today!!! Will be home tomorrow.

Somewhere in, MD(Zone 7b)

Got chased home by a rumbling tumbling thunderstorm this afternoon. YIPES!!! One woke me in the middle of the night last night too. Garsh, now it's Summery again!

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

No rain here--sure looked like it was going to pour!
I guess it stayed in NJ....The rain clouds must get caught on the tops
of the Delaware Bridge....
Got just enough rain drops here to moisten the sidewalk.
We DO need a good rain by now....These hot days are not good...
G.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Had time for a watering session, and just in time to rescue the seedlings that popped up already from spinach, mustard and few other fall crops. Another hot dry day they might have fried. Doesn't look or sound like rain anywhere around here.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Another overcast, dry day. Expecting 82*F here today.

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

There was essentially no chance of rain today -- and then (after I watered), lo and behold, rain! Just 1/10th of an inch or so, but I'll take it. It has been very parched here.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Last night was so clear I saw 4 shooting stars in a half hour in spite of the silvery moon. Today was near perfect, clear, not hot, with a very pleasant breeze. The weatherman says to expect the same tomorrow so that means watering but with weather like this I'm not complaining. The plants seem to be enjoying it too, no late day wilt, unless they got missed while watering. LOL

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Gorgeous day! 4H fair...fun was had by all

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Question:

When should I start putting out Thistle seed for the Goldfinches?
Some of you have mentioned that you are seeing them around
your garden.

Dying to try out my new, sturdier finch feeder. The feeding
stations are ALL metal. Got it at 50% off at one of the Big Lots.
Red. price (at Big Lots) was $40. So--I paid $20. Must be good!
Easy to clean too--You pull out the rod that holds all the feeding stations
in place--and they all come apart. Now I have an empty tube to clean out.
Reassembling it may be a bit tricky--as now I will have to position the
feeding stations, just so, and insert the rod all through the centers to hold
them all in place.

Looks good to me--and squirrels should not be able to get to the feed.

I does make me leery though--how come it is in Big Lots? Was something too
hard or too complicated for the general public?
Was it discontinues for some reason?

This is what it looks like.... Gita

1--complete feeder--it is 23" tall and has 6 feeding stations
2--Close-up of the label
3--Shows howw the rod holds together all the feeding ststions
4--Top--showing the pull rod.
